Tyrion's speech is absolutely amazing...one of the best things i've ever seen on tv. Gives me chills everytime i see it. Good for you Tyrion...screw all those people.
Likewise. GRRM is brilliant at stacking these intricate, sometimes conflicting plans and then see what survives if it crashes down. Ned was supposed to be sent to the Wall, but Joffrey decided to take his head instead. Edmure marries one of the Frey girls, and all is well, but fate and Rob's choices pushed half his allies to turn cloak and devise the Red Wedding. Tywin had the whole mock court played out so Tyrion would go away, but be alive, with a chance to have Jaime give up his post in return, the cold chess master at play, who could not foresee Tyrion flipping over the board, because he had been scorned & burned again and again and again, finally reaching his boiling point.

the acting for tyrion and tywin in the end is so fucking good
Jaime basically gave up his “happiness” for his brother. In the beginning of the show he just accepted the persona that everyone gave him as the dishonorable king slayer, but slowly we see him allow himself to be the knight he always wanted to be. When he was young he had this entire fantasy of what it was like being a knight, complete honor and helping anyone who needs it- the closest he had seen was Brianne which I think revived that belief that it could exist even in this dark world.
Peter played this episode wonderfully, the music playing as he lets out all his thoughts is amazing, he played his hand better than his own father. At least for the time being as far as we know. I do think that the plan was to get Jaime to abandon the kings guard and Tyrion ruined it for Tywin
I love this episode. Through the 1st three seasons Tyrion was the only one willing to stand up to Joffrey. While we loved watching it there was a reason no one else did. He was the king and when you attack physically or verbally the King it’ll come back around

@@giovannitigalo7011 I don't know if Tywin stood up to Joffrey, Tywin didn't even need to put any effort in. Its more like the other way around, Joffrey making sad attempts to stand up to Tywin only to be reminded him of his place xD
@@giovannitigalo7011 Yes but not physically. And without overt threats. Tyrion struck the King multiple times and threatened his life and Ser Trant's life. Actions have consequences, even for the uncle of the King.
Tommen didn't take Joffrey's wife... Joffrey's wife, took Tommen.
I wonder if Tywin, deep down, will have felt some shred of pride in Tyrion after that display of temper. The final glance is incredible.
BEST COURTROOM SCENE IN EXISTENCE. IMO. MASTER CLASS OF ACTING THAT MAN DISPLAYED.

This was definitely one of my favorite episodes. Tyrions speech always gives me goosebumps. "I've been on trial for being a dwarf my entire life!" gods, I felt that! Absolute peak episode here.
I recommend watching the S4 outtakes. You get to see Peter dancing his way to the peau in one scene 😂

This season is peak game of thrones. Every episode is really good, but this is one of the best.
Do you remember at the ore wedding feast, Cersei showed Tywin Shae. He said, have her brought to the tower of the hand they probably have threatened her life if she didn't lie.
Such a powerful scene.

I have to admit, Ramsey fighting with absolutely no armor against so many armor-clad warriors was badass! Credit where credit's due, he knew his skills were superior.
Ty Steejo...."There is no back in the day" ....maybe the smartest thing ive heard said in a GoT reaction. Drives me nuts when people say "back in these times...." as if this takes place in medieval europe or something.

The whole genre is based on 'back in the day' assumptions. That was banal and irrelevant.

I hate lies!! - welcome to westeros. Tyrion has been lying for the past 4 seasons. Pretty much everything said in the trial was out of context truth btw. ("When someone is lying and they remember their story so precise" - except Shae wasn't lying about any of her interactions with Tyrion. Not liking what someone is saying =/= lie.
Cersei put a thing on her life - OR, she's doing it voluntarily out of bitterness.

@14:00 In the books, Ramsay takes a lot more of Theon than the favorite toy. By the end, he's down to a very limited number of fingers and toes. It's not just cutting them off. Ramsay would peel the flesh off and torture the fingers until Reek would beg him to just cut them off.

There is nothing...NOTHING that Tywin wanted more than Jamie to renounce the white cloak and become his heir. That's the reason it was instantly accepted.
Shay was forced by cersi to do that..threatened her life if she didn't do this.. she probably also felt conflicted on both ends.. she mad at tyrion for what he did as well... but also loves him..

One of the top 5 episodes of GOT. Problem is there are another 9 episodes at least which are in that top 5! Great to see both of you so caught up in Tyrion's trial the way we all were back in the day. Emmy winning episode.

It’s a shame they reduce the relationship between mace tyrell and Oberyn down to this scene.
The Tyrells and the Martell’s have been engaged in a blood rivalry for centuries. The Martell’s regularly raid tyrell lands. oberyn crippled Maces son in a tourney. There’s a ton of bad blood there.
But the show runners made mace tyrell a hapless buffoon for some reason.

IMO it's okay to hate Theon, he's been a prick all show basically. But... I also despised Ramsay. It's one thing to torture a man, we've seen that before, but to break a person in such a sound way, where they are no longer themselves any more, but a dog basically now, couldn't help but hate him. It's okay to hate two characters at the same time, because you have to know what he's done to Theon, he's also done to others most likely, others that were more innocent than Theon as well. He's a raving psychopath =/
