    The way the dragon appears soaring over the Dothrakis is chills. The cinematography in this show never disappoints.. A person could miss all the dialogue and still be entertained. It's a rare thing for a show or even a movie to excel in both. Then add in the soundtrack...

    This is one of my favorite episodes. It’s the first real demonstration of what a dragon can do. You get a peek when Danaerys burns the ships in the harbor in Mereen(?). But this is Drogon just doing fat rails of soldiers like it’s nothing. It becomes very clear that they’re EXTREMELY dangerous. Basically weapons of mass destruction

Also, unlike any of them, she was exiled from westeros so her only way to stay home is to win the war! No one smart enough would let her live otherwise. Especially not with the power she acquired. She literally has no choice...

      @@de4dweight545 exactly my thought! You don't even need to go as far as HOTD. Robert baratheon was one (although not really good person imo). He didn't have ambition to rule & only wanted to get revenge on the targaryans & free people from the mad king's rule on the way. Yet, he was a shit king & left the ruling of the kingdom to his hand for decades. I really think that from the way Dany was set up through seasons 1 to 6, she could have been an amazing ruler. Because not only was she good, she was ambitious, wise & good enough to attract the right people to her side while smart & strict enough to get rid of & punish the wrong ones. She had a good balance of good & harsh, while having a set goal to rule. That's what made her perfect for the job. The way I see it, the show only wanted to ruin a good & popular character to make some others have a chance to shine more & to have a bad ending, since it's GOT. They didn't do anything logical to make it make sense.

    • @SparSA-xl7td

      @@de4dweight545 exactly! Hopefully the book will have a better ending for her & the throne than the show. Although It would still be very different since the show made way too many important changes to most prominent characters. So we'll never really get a satisfying ending for the characters as we got used to them in the show.

    I find it funny that often enough people think bad of Jaime or misjudge him based on what he may have said in some parts of the show, but they don't really see the "results" of his actions for what they are. Think about it. All of Jaime major actions throughout the show, despite his true own weakness which is Cersei, is always to save the majority of people and serve a greater good, the realm as Varys would call it or simply others and not himself. And in many cases these are honorable or heroic pursuits as well.
    All of the below selfless things he did not have to do, but he did anyway despite of what others would think or the risk to his life or reputation.
    - Backstabbing the mad king to save the entire population of King's landing
    - Saving Brienne from the bear
    - Arming Brienne, to set her on a path to save the Stark children that were wronged
    - Saving/protecting and looking out for Tyrion more than once, his only relative that truly stood by him always
    - Taking Riverrun from Blackfish with minimal casualties on both sides
    - Making sure Olenna would not suffer on her last day
    - Attempting a suicide attack to Daenerys to end the war prematurely and thus save thousands of lives in the process
    Even the act of pushing Bran off the tower which is a gray area, is to protect and prevent what would happen if people would learn about what Bran saw. They could start a war that would once again cost thousands of lives (which is exactly what happened eventually). It was a bad act a bad moment for sure, but it was still a calculated act to prevent war and protect his family. It was a tough situation, many would have done the same though and never blink twice. He was always a victim of circumstances and while Cersei and "the things we do for love" is indeed the pillar of his bad side, absolutely everything else he does, has always been to amend his flaws, for a greater good or others, almost never for himself. If that's not an amazing character then I don't know who is.

    • @Caliab
      @Caliab Год назад +3

      I respect people's opinions giving Jaime a pass as a misunderstood good guy. I also respect people's opinions about him being a terrible person. It's not a lack of comprehension about his character to view him negatively. For some, it's a difference in opinion of morals. Sacrificing one person (it doesn't matter that Jaime didn't succeed...the point is killing was his intent) to avoid bigger bloodshed....killing a few to save the many...is a philosophical thing you'll never get everyone to agree on which one is better.
      Also, when one commits a crime (adultery, sex w/family, etc) and it's considered merely a "gray area" to be willing to kill a child or any person to protect one's crime from being exposed is kinda wild. lol. Committing a crime and then covering up the secret with murder is apparently considered righteous as long as he's preventing his family from suffering the consequences of his and his sister's deeds at the expense of innocents who didn't do anything wrong and merely stumbled upon the truth. If he actually cared about avoiding war, he'd accept the punishment...the death of himself and a few Lannisters rather than murdering an innocent boy.
      Just saying, the idea that people who don't like Jaime just don't understand him or just don't see all the good he's also done isn't accurate. I personally don't like or dislike Jaime. He's a fascinating character. Almost everyone in Game of Thrones, even the traditionally viewed "good" people have done horrible things. So, I don't think he's that much worse than the rest. But considering certain things he's done is unforgivable to some people (like the attempted murder of a child no matter what the consequences), I understand why people wouldn't like him and their feelings are valid. As valid as yours for thinking good deeds wash away the stain of bad ones if the bad ones can be justified in a certain perspective at a certain angle.

      @kobarsos82 Год назад +1

      @@jfyigdfgeuh Being in prison and in a cage like he was for over a year while your family is at war (let alone being the Prince of that family), would drive anyone mad and in Martin's world its not uncommon at all to have to kill someone, yes, even a cousin in order to escape captivity and naturally this rings true even more during a War situation. That is honestly nothing. Its looking at a tree and missing the forest. Its a minor event its not even important. In fact the mere fact they had captured the Lannister prince, would soon lead to countless deaths on both sides. He HAD to escape, so that no more people die on his behalf. Self-preservation and survival instincts also come into play in these situations and these are above any rational thought, even more so when in war times.
      Yes he used threats in that Blackfish situation, but he never carried them and the result was minimal casualties for both sides, when there could have died thousands. The result is what matters in this case and it paints a clear big picture. It was the better and necessary evil and it did serve the greater good. I'd rather have that than a siege with countless deaths. Would you prefer a siege? Really?
      The thing is we can make many assumptions based on our current world morals and policies and beliefs, but all these are in fact quite different in G.R.R. Martin's crafted world. It doesn't justify them but it does make them seem more normal than they would be. There is so much evil in The song of Ice and Fire, that many other things fall in the gray area, things which in our own world would never be considered gray but straight evil. We may draw comparisons, but I personally think its a lesson in futility, because the world is actually very different from ours and should be judged by its own rules and morals and that's the only fair thing to do for such a complex and intricate story and fantasy world. Incest is honestly nothing for this world at least according to the original creator that is.

      The books hint that Joffrey did it. Littlefinger was miles away and he never owned this dagger (it always property of the King), that was a lie he made to frame the Lannisters further. Joffrey overheard King Robert say that being dead is preferable to being a cripple. He thought Robert would approve and he stupidly armed the assassin with the King's valyrian steel dagger.

    I think the prevailing theory [from the book readers] about who sent the cat's-paw to kiII Bran is that it was Joffrey. The idea is that he knew about the nature of the relationship between his mother and uncle; that based on things he overheard his mother and uncle say to each-other, he suspected what had happened to Bran; that he had access to the dagger from a chest of weapons in Robert's personal caravan; that he gave the dagger and payment to the cat's-paw to finish Bran after they had long gone, well on their way back to King's Landing. The theory's more elaborately backed up than what's outlined here, but it makes some sort of sense when you consider what Joffrey ordered to have done to all Robert's bastards in King's Landing, and how he had Gendry chased: he wanted to keep his position secure.

    • @beesmitty3435
      @beesmitty3435 Год назад +1

      In the books its Tyrion pov, so 'most likely' accurate.
      Joffrey gets his new valyrian steel sword and when tywin explains the valyrian look joffrey exclaims 'im no stranger to valyrian steel's
      Which cause Tyrion to have the epiphany and put together all the parts.
      As mentioned he had access to king Roberts knife collection where the blade came from, he clearly has seen/handled valyrian steel before/recently, and who else would be dumb enough to send such a specific weapon for supposedly anonymous assassination.
      So not confirmed but and with joff dead probably never 'confirmed' but I'd put all my money on joffery being behind the cats paw.

  • @kylethompson3008

    Yall give Cersei too much credit. Don't forget she's an idiot who makes bad decision after bad decision. It was Jamie's plan to attack Highgarden, and Euron is the one hunting Danys fleet down. Tywin told Cersei she's not as smart as she thinks she is. That's the reason he tried to marry her off to loras and send her to Highgarden. So he could keep her and her children apart. So she wouldn't have any more influence and to take her power away. She loves power more than her children which is why she is willing to betray them. She always accused Tyrion of trying to destroy House Lannister, but all of her decisions to hold on to power have backfired. Cersei has always been the true threat to House Lannister

    Joffrey sent the assassin to kill Bran. He had heard a drunken Robert say multiple times that it would be a mercy to kill Bran. Joffery wanted to impress Robert, and kill, he didnt give a fuk about the mercy, it was just a good excuse to kill Bran. In the books there were more confrontations and hostilities between Stark and Lannister than included in the show, and Joffrey was petty. The dagger was actually Robert's. Joffrey stole it and gave it to the assassin as payment.

    6:07 If you want to know who sent an assassin to kill Bran, read ahead on my comment because the show never revealed this so I don't really consider it as a spoiler as it's not something that you'll find out later by just watching the show. The one who hired to assassin was Prince Joffrey. At one point, he heard King Robert say the line "death is mercy", and Joffrey, although the show didn't really show this that much, idolized King Robert. So he sent the assassin to kill Bran as he thought it would impress Robert. A lot has been made about how bad of a mother Cersei is, but the truth is, Robert was also a bad father. It's just that most audience liked Robert, but he was also very rough and cruel when he has to, and sadly, Joffrey only saw that side of Robert.

He hears Robert say i think after a talk with Cercei and says ‘’a quick death is better then living as a cripple’’.
    Jeoffry then think this action will make Robert proud of him and sends the assassin.

      @@ivangrbic8596 Hmmm... I always assumed Littlefinger bc it's his blade (the only one like it in the 7 kingdoms) and he lied and said Tyrion stole it and Kat blamed Tyrion. That doesn't directly implicate Littlefinger as the assassin sender??

      @@lagronemikal Littlefinger didn't say that Tyrion stole it. He said that Tyrion won it over him through gambling. And no, just having ownership of the dagger doesn't implicate Littlefinger as the assassin's sender. Like Tyrion said, why would the killer arm the assassin with his own blade? It was Joffrey who sent the assassin, and sadly the show didn't address that anymore.

      I thought it was cringe and stupid, him charging like that with a dragon. After outsmarting Tyrion, he should know that he's a lot more valuable alive than dead. He knew there was no chance that he could kill Dany what with his dominant hand being cut and Dany having a dragon.

    They never tell you who tried to kill Bran. I heard it was Joffrey and he did it cause he heard Cersei say it was cruel to let him live or whatever but I don’t think anyone knows if it’s true or not

      It's pretty much confirmed in the books that it was Joffrey, and no it wasn't Cersei that he heart, it was Robert. Joffrey overheard Robert tell Cersei that killing Bran would be the merciful thing to do as Bran was really struggling after Jamie pushed him out of the tower. Joffrey idolized Robert and so he hired an assassin to kill Bran in order to impress Robert.

    The show is biased for JAIME?
    He got captured for over a year, got his hand cut off, lost 3 kids and his dad while his brother he loved was tormented and forced away after killing their father, Cersei wasn’t exactly getting along with him.
    Denarys has 3 dragons and has gotten a lot of stuff hand fed to her bit by bit. I’ve never seen a a game of thrones take so badly, the only one almost as bad as this was when she thought ned was fucking his sister
