    I found out about this specific model because of your video, exactly what I was looking for! Looks like a pretty straight forward install, thanks!

      Whoohoo! Use that discount code at checkout! I've been using it, it's great. I've used the heater more than I expected. The install was a breeze once you get the right 20A cords.

    What are the dimensions of your wood spacer?

      I can't remember off the top of my head but the dimensions and instructions are in the installation guide.

    Did you wire this into a panel with breakers or just plug it in??

    • @iamcraiggentry
      @iamcraiggentry  19 часов назад

      It's wired for shore power, which has a breaker usually. I've yet to see one that didn't have a breaker.

    Enjoying your build so far!
    Curious - your tshirt - is that the one near Fort Campbell? Coming from Indianapolis to Florida to see our kid, we often go through Fort Campbell to Dickson toward Thompson Station to bypass Nashville.

      Yes it is! It's a super old work shirt now but that's the area for it. I'm in western Kentucky, near KY Lake. You probably pass by it on your trip.

      @@iamcraiggentry Very cool. Actually we were in Nashville in May for a concert (Billy Joel / Stevie nicks) and ended up staying there in Herndon, easy in / out and will probably do the same for Phish coming up.

    Nice job! I’m roughing in my van now but I’m not sure if the cut out is under the front or back end of the unit?

    • @iamcraiggentry
      @iamcraiggentry  11 месяцев назад +1

      There was a fan already installed in the back of my van so I put the AC up front. If you put it in the back, make sure you have enough room on roof for the overhang.

    What kind of power inlet did you use?

    • @iamcraiggentry
      @iamcraiggentry  10 месяцев назад +3

      The link should be in the description. It's a 20amp shore power port. I'll do a full video on the power system later.

      How will you connect the AC so that it works while the truck is walking? a voltage inverter? And what capacity would you use?

    now a real automotive enthusiast would paint it white to match!

    What is the recommended battery bank size if not using shore power?

    • @iamcraiggentry
      @iamcraiggentry  3 месяца назад

      I don't recommend running an AC off of batteries. It'll cost way too much and weigh too much and you won't be able to recharge it fast enough without being plugged in anyways. Off grid AC is a pipe dream. If I need AC, I'll go to a campground and plug in.

    • @triggerguard1
      @triggerguard1 Месяц назад +1

      @@iamcraiggentry no pipe dream at all. You simply need an inverter.

    • @iamcraiggentry
      @iamcraiggentry  Месяц назад

      @@triggerguard1 and inverter and a massive battery bank. I think the battery bank would be so big it wouldn't recharge in time to run the AC on consecutive nights.

      Go to harbor freight and buy a $450 gen and a hitch travel tray. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a portable ac unit. Cut the vent plate and vent out front window or sliding door window or roof fan. I replaced the stock vent hose with half size flex hose made of aluminum because it doesn't get as hot as the plastic flex hose. AC cost $350. Works like a charm and if I am not near shore power and gen isn't available or noise restrictions then I just idle and burn 7$ in gas. Roof AC's are too much money
