    I bought one in July of 23. Its been great for me. The hardest part for me was trying to understand the remote control. The unit works great and it fits in the standard 14" hole.

      Same here, there are buttons on there that aren’t used and others that don’t make sense.

    Great segment. Your breakdown of both the install and use of this AC was very thorough, detailed and helpful. I wonder if the van was white in color how much of a difference in degrees or ease of cooling it would make? In the beginning you were regretting taking out the exhaust fan. Curious if this new AC will work as well as the old exhaust fan without the cooling function on? Is that even possible? Thanks for taking us along during this install and sharing both your experience and thoughts. Safe, happy and Cooler travels Sir.

      The AC does not vent to the outside. It recirculates inside air. Great comment! We could not see living without a vent with cooking and showers going on in there. I did add back in a smaller Maxaire fan a few weeks ago. There is a video coming soon on this. So far the Velit is working great and they now offer a black inside housing too.

    Great video! Do you think the Velit unit makes sense if I only have a 400amp lithium battery bank with 200W solar? I may add additional batteries

    • @schultg1
      @schultg1 3 месяца назад

      I’ve been using it with 300ah lithium Battleborns. And 400w solar. I think 400aj is fine but more solar might help on a sunny day.

    Great video! @12:45 are you putting a 60A Fuse between the AC power cable and your bus bar?

      I put a big fuse between the batteries and everything else in another video. The AC one is 30A

    If I'm understanding this video correct, you ran the AC for 2 hours with the temperature on it set to 67 degrees, and the van actually got hotter, not cooler?

    • @cyclonecustom
      @cyclonecustom  6 месяцев назад +1

      Well, maybe watch it again. We didn’t start at 67 inside the van. I’m totally sold on this Velit AC. I can run more tests next summer. It really works great for 1/2 the price of everyone else’s AC.

    How has it been running for you?

    • @cyclonecustom

      It's working really great. One thing I noticed about it is that the air coming out get's colder the longer it runs.

    Is it possible to run this unit while the vehicle is in motion? We have an older Romahome campervan with absolutely no A/C, so we're looking for a system that will work in both stationary and travelling modes. I suspect the wind velocities at highway speeds might play havoc with the fan, but I am not sure... have you tried it? I also wonder anbout alternator load at the high amperages required to run the A/C unit.
    Also - would it be feasible to run the unit for short periods off the main vehicle battery instead of an auxiliary battery?

    • @cyclonecustom
      @cyclonecustom  7 месяцев назад +1

      Great questions. We have run ours while driving down the highway many times. It works just fine. On your battery/alternator question I would say no, you can’t run this off the house battery. Your alternator would probably run it with the van running but check your alternator amp output first. The best situation is to get a battery bank if 300AH minimum, and a method to keep them charged. A high output alternator will do this fine. Get a 110v charger for them and you could plug in at the campsite.

    Do you need to turn on the inverter to turn on the Velit ac?

    • @cyclonecustom
      @cyclonecustom  Год назад +1

      Nope, it’s a 12 volt air conditioner. No invertor necessary. I do have to turn on the invertor for my temp gateway and cameras to work on the van
