I appreciate the review and agree with all of it. The quiet confidence in this shoe without it feeling wild is like it has a professional temperament. Not like pro runner, but like a mature business professional. It just gets it done without making noise about it. I got this one because it fits my odd feet better than any other race day shoe. One thing I love is that it just disappears on my foot and I don't really think about it. I'm happy to hear you feel the same about v4. Just bought my pair and trying them out this afternoon. I hope they’re a good replacement for my AP3 until the release of AP4. Sending lots of love from Manila Philippines 🇵🇭 ❤
Thankful for payment plan with apps i bought these. Its very improved from v3. The tongue is improved, not gusseted but way better than that scrunchy, and the ankle area is better no more pokes or jabs on outside. Nice roll, didn't notice weight really or didn't bother me. Straight out of box almost pr'd. I like v3, but that upper hurt my feet. V4 gets 5 of 5 p-corns. Great shoe for heavy runner like me, 210lbs.

Personally, this shoe isn’t a fast racing shoes(5k-10k-21k). It’s more of a cruise control type of shoe for the marathon. The more voluminous fit should help with the swelling of the feet and the less aggressive feeling will be appreciated at the end of the race when your running form start to get sloppy. As you say, it’s a shoe that grows on you.
I am going to buy this one after hearing your review. Honestly wasn't even considering after the previous models. Second tier for me in the race shoe world. Gonna wait for some of the new colorways...
Thanks for the review Kofuzi! Back in the time I choose to run with the sc elite v2 because of your review :) still loving it!! Which newer super shoe do you think can replace the easy going rc elite v2?
Just bought it and I’m lost with sizing. I got my normal size and it’s just on the limit, not sure I can complete a marathon with it but the half size bigger is way to big. Anyone else having t similar issue and any advice ?

@@kofuzi Thanks for the suggestion, Mike. I will check the rebel out when available. March I think. Also, why would NB not release the all white version of these shoes!! I think those were the best.
Great review! Matches pretty closely to what I felt in my first run in the V4 today. These will be replacing the V3s as my race shoe. I think the V3 feels more comfortable at slower paces but the V4 really wakes up for me at faster paces.
I tried the SC Elite v4 on in store alongside the Cielo X 1. I don’t really gripe too much about weight, so that was not an issue with me. I ended up with the Hoka because it just felt more exciting and novel for an A/B step-in. However, what you’re saying about the SC Elite v4 has me eager to try the SC Pacer v2 when it comes out later in the year. That one sounds like it has some serious potential.

With the comparison to the Saucony Pro 3, I finally figured out who has yet to send you a sample pair of shoes. If so, I hope you get them soon. Looking forward to the review.
I have both the v.3 and now the v.4 and although my first impression of the v.4 was underwhelming it has, as you mentioned, grown on me fast. The upper is by far better, for me, than the v.3 which I had two hot spot areas, one which required "surgery" on my part. I do think the v.3's midsole was more "fun" (bouncy and cushioned), but the v.4 is going to be a great marathon shoe and having done my long runs in them I can tell I will, as usual with NB, not ever have to think about my feet. As for pairing, I would substitute the 1080 v.13 instead of the More v.4 because the latter is just a bit too clunky and heavy for me. BTW, I have the Endorphin Pro 3 and much prefer the NB SC Elite v.4. Thanks for your review and happy running.
I've thought about the 1080v13 as the pairing option, but the way they've changed the 1080v13 makes it feel more like an alternative to the Rebel v4 rather than a complement. but it is pretty comfy, so I could see it in the way you describe
Interesting. If nothing else, it's a gorgeous shoe. Any word on whether it will be available in wide fit for us toe splayers? I'm so hesitant to get racing shoes because I'm worried how my toes will fare all cramped in under a carbon plate. Do you think the regular version is wide enough? I've heard mixed things about the Saucony Pro, some say the fit is accommodating, others say it has a narrow toe box and that the Saucony Elite is actually more accommodating of splaying feet. Right now I;m using the Rebel v3 as my tempo shoe, and the Saucony Speed (wide fit, not available on the pro) as my tempo/ long run at race pace shoes. I have the New Balance 1080 as a daily/recover runner, but this seems to be very different in feel from that shoe. Did you find the weight noticeable?

I anticipate that a lot of people will likely start out lukewarm to it but then end up loving it over time
On the SC V3 I felt like I had to put in more effort to run faster paces because of the squish of the foam. Is there a shoe you would compare it to in terms of responsiveness?
I just came back from my first 10k in the endorphin pro 4, great shoes, but now I’m very curious about the sc elite 4, omg so much good shoes thx for the review Mike, great as always 👍

true to drop is a phrase I've not heard before, but I'd say it's true to drop for a peba shoe. 4mm in a peba race shoe isn't the same as 4mm in a Bondi
my recommendation is to not just take a recommendation but to try them on and test them out, also in a very long run. Every foot and biomechanics are different, for me the Vaporfly 2 did not fit (1 and 3 are fine), the Adios Pro 3 gives me blisters unless I wear very thick socks, Endorphin Pro 3 rocker doesn't match my metatarsal joint and so on. Look for top tier shoes and depending on budget current or last years version. I would count Alphafly, Vaporfly, Adios Pro, Endorphin Pro 3/Elite, Metaspeed Sky/Edge, Rocket X 2 (not 1), SC Elite 4 (not 1-3), Cloudboom Echo 3 (not 1,2) and Fast-R2 as top tier but that is up for debate.
I agree vehemently with @run-o-phil that everyone needs to go to a brick and mortar store to compare all these shoes on your feet, with your gait (most stores have a treadmill but many also allow you to run outside) at various paces. Reviews such as Kofuzi’s are extremely helpful in narrowing down the options, but ultimately our biomechanics are unique and varied and you will know very quickly which ones work for you-and more critically, which ones to eliminate from consideration. If you’re lucky to have an independent running store with a good selection of at least many of the options and a staff comprising real runners and shoe geeks, they will help you with sizing (which varies considerably not only between brands but in same models year to year) and they will accept returns if a shoe doesn’t work out for you. Finally, my favorite such store gives me a sizable “club”/loyalty discount which is particularly significant on these high-priced super shoes. But again, the main point: try them on for yourself.
Love your reviews Kufuzi. 💕 Hopefully you will have a shoe giveaways for your fans/subscribers, grealtly appreciated like me who loves running but no budget for a shoe. Thank you 😊
Running shoes are just becoming ridiculous in price. At least put some tread on them that can last over 100 miles. I loved my sc fuelcell trainers but the tread was terrible and for the sc elite 3 the sock style of liner was annoying. Happy to see the new style but have my doubts still
Just like the Cielo X1, these brands can’t keep coming out with Vaporfly and Alphafly competitors that are over an ounce heavier. I don’t care what tech they say they added to it to make the weight not as noticeable, like the Cielo X1 and the aggressive rocker, you can’t make up for being that much heavier. The Vaporfly is still king, almost 2 ounces lighter than this and over 2 ounces lighter than the Cielo X1. Whoever is in marketing and engineering at these companies needs to be more aggressive with saving weight
Are you angry as you are writing this? I read it as angry, but I don’t know if something is off in my reading comprehension lately. I think I need a reset or recalibration.
@@kofuzi haha definitely not angry but I could see how it can be taken that way. More just disappointed! I want the super shoe market to be more competitive for non-sponsored elites, people who really care about pure performance! No one is truly competing with Nike or Adidas

Is it true to size? Like sc elite 3?
is it true to size? yes
like sc elite 3? no
@@kofuzi no no sir i mean the size is the same like sc elite 3 right? true to size
I want to try to new Pacer and Trainer😍😍
Liking the look of this from the viewpoint of a stability runner.
This or Saucony Endorphin Elite?
I prefer the elite, but I like wild
They look really similar to the adios pro 3’s
I don't see it, but I hear that a lot
Still rocking the v2
Same here. 533 KMs/331 miles. But about to die tho 🥲
I wonder why it's so much more expensive here in the Philippines.
Price theory is so unbelievably complex
Trying to decide between this and the Endorphin Pro 4 ???
280 euros here in NL, way expensive 🤦🏻♂️
the word you missed to use in what its like was efficiency, the word which should sing to data geeks
you may have me confused with another channel
Running shoes are just becoming ridiculous in price. At least put some tread on them that can last over 100 miles. I loved my sc fuelcell trainers but the tread was terrible and for the sc elite 3 the sock style of liner was annoying. Happy to see the new style but have my doubts still
I think a lot of people agree with you and demand more durability from pinnacle race product.
I firmly disagree, but I can see your point.
4mm drop!!! what the h-e double hockey sticks.
are you happy or mad?
@kofuzi Shoe look really cool...but my calves will very upset lol.
How do you compare this with Mizuno Wave rebellion pro 2?
like opposites
It is like ADİDAS ADIZERO PRIME X 2.0 STRUNG SHOE
I ran in the prime x2 strung as recently as this week, and I'd say SC Elite v4 is very much not like prime x2 strung
1st. Yo, what’s going on!!!!
yo Luis!
