UPDATE 31/08/2021: Battery life on the GW4 Classic has vastly improved after a firmware update. From 18 hours I am now getting 1.5 - 2 day battery life which is much better than before.
How do i update pls?
@@virdun Some watches already received the update from setup, all others watches have updated automaticly or you need to install it manualy from the settings or the wearos app.

After the update yesterday watch charged fully at 8.30 its now 21.00 and its at 66%
It's very sad for me to avoid the Samsung watch. It's an amazing gadget but in the long run, I think that it creates more needs than solutions. The fact that the device has problems pairing outside the Samsung ecosystem is a deal breaker. Anything that "forces" me to stick with the brand is a no-go for me.

I’ve had both watches in their earlier versions and while I appreciate the battery life of TicWatch the screen resolution, easier functionality, better “ecosystem” of apps paired with phone, and the crazy amount of 3rd party accessory support of the Samsung mattered more to me.

I got both too. Received Samsung GW4C 46mm on Saturday. And I can gladly confirm that it's definitely going more than 24 hours. I have pretty much all the health sensors on and doing constant measurements. Except for blood oxygen for sleep. Latest charge cycle was 100% yesterday at 11 am and now at 13:20 still 40% to go.

Hiya, you're right to point that out.i forgot to mention that I turn always on display off, but I've enabled to turn screen on with wrist turn. So just to update everyone, if all is ok with that setup, then I've actually managed to have it still running up to this morning around 8ish down to 4%. So that slightly off from 48 hours. It's not bad I guess.
confuse between GW4 , Fossil gen 6, Ticwatch pro 3, tichwatch X pro 😣😣😣 i have GW3 LTE 41mm but pathetic battery life lead me to replace with another.....i just want my watch should run at least for 18 hr which is my office time and i cant carry charger with me ...there should be AOD on , Bluetooth connected ,all sensors manula mode ....
You forgot the Bioimpedance function. That's an exclusive of the GW4, not present in any other watch that i know. For me it was the major selling point, knowing that i no longer depend on my smart scale to measure my body fat and other stuff.
But there have been many comments questioning how useful - as in how inaccurate - its BMI or whatever function is. Take it with a pinch of salt is what Mike O’Brien said and others have expressed similar concerns about accuracy and so questionable utility. Are you happy with its accuracy so far?
@@mscargill1 accuracy has been pretty fine so far for me - minor fluctuations day to day but generally stays the same. I have no clue on precision (as far as bf %) but it seems at least as accurate as eyeballing. The accuracy is more important for general purpose fitness though. Remind me in a month when I have more data if you're still curious

I have the gw4 classic and my phone is a oneplus 6t. I cannot get to work blood pressure and ecg as well as samsung pay. Google pay i cannot find it. Maybe not supported in my country ? Malta EU. I also like to install another local paying method from my bank but on play store on watch i cannot find anything..

From TWP to GW, the experience is totally different. I don't think I will go back to TWP anytime soon.
After using Galaxy Gear S3 classic, GW and GW3 classic, I decided to go for GW4 but nah. Not my type. Now bought Ticwatch pro 3 and let me tell you that it's the best smart watch I have ever used.

The battery is an issue on both the Fold 3 and Watch 4, hope they have a software update to increase battery life at the cost point

Dual display > Rotating bezel in my opinion. Going on a trip, or just knowing your charger won't be accessible, then turning on essential mode to save 98% of your current battery for an entire day+ is 10x better than a gimmicky selection method (love the bezel, feels like an old ipod...but in all seriousness, it may save you milliseconds at best compared to just using the touch-screen). That second digital display needs to be in more smart-watches!

I own a Galaxy Gear and although the bezel is a nice feature , it's a pain if you are exposed to sand and dust. Mine broke after one year and had to repair it twice. Now it's broken for good.
i have TWP3 and all settings are on and no chance will last even 2 full days including nites...one full day and nite yes but i need to charge it on day no.2 and for some reason keep disconnecting itself from my huawei p30pro and need to reconnect it few times day...other story is with my huawei watch gt2...yes apps are build in but battery just last forever and charging only once a week...i was so excited when ticwatch pro 3 came out as sounded like perfect watch but battery life is not true on TWP3. i was looking to buy Samsung watch 4 classic but short battery life is just so disappointing...by the way...any idea why my TWP3 keep loosing connection with my huawei mobile phone?

A battery life of 2-10 days + Google Pay, and I'm a happy camper :-) My 4 Classic lasts for close to 2 days with Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi, raise to wake ++ enabled.
From GSM Arena the weights of the Watches are 25.9g ( 40mm non classic ) , 30.3 g (44mm non classic ) & 52 g (46mm Classic ), 46.5 g (42mm classic ) . Im have great concern regarding the weights accuracy as i dont like weighty mass on my wrists . From your video it is mentioned 76.4g for 45.5 Classic .Which one is true ?

Love my ticwatch pro 3. Works perfectly with my Oneplus phone. Had the Galaxy watch 3 for a short while but sold it for it's limited use with non Samsung phones and bixby which is terrible.

I disagree with "It defeats the purpose of having a smart watch if you're going to start turning features off". Sure I wouldn't want to put the watch in power saving mode, but the only thing I'm interested in hearing about the Galaxy watch 4 right now is, how can you change the settings to maybe get decent battery life.
I think the GW4 checks your blood oxygen every minute for example and TWP3 checks every 10 minutes. Can you make those kind of changes to the settings on the Galaxy watch? How much can you increase the battery life with smaller changes?

Thank you for this very informing review! 👍 After some time of comparison these two, I decided to buy the Ticwatch. It would have been the Samsung if they supported Google Assistent (straight). They promised to do so, but after all this time they still do not, and I lost faith they will do. ECG and bloodpressure extra's of the GW4 is nice IF you have a Samsung phone(!) AND do the calibrate proces. This time I do have a Samsung phone, but my next may not.

Compared to the GS3 at least, the sleep sensors on it are much more accurate. I was averaging 97% on the pro 3. On the GS3 it was giving me a score in the low 40s. And based on how tired I felt, the GS3 is more accurate.
Check out The Quantified Scientist Channel. All he does is test equipment. The sleep monitoring on all of them is pretty inaccurate. There's a race to add features to sell watches but that doesn't mean the features work.
Well my TicWatch would still count me sleeping 10-30 mins after waking up, walking to the toilet and actually checking the watch notifications and calendar 🤦♂️!

In my location I can simply go to a Samsung Store and buy the watch. Does Mobvoi have such a store? What happens when it fails?
Mobvoi support is online based. Not had any issues with my ticwatches so far. have not needed to use support yet.
For the battery got worse in the 4? With everything on my 3 gets about 2 days 2 1/2 If I’m not checking it as frequent.
Tizen is probably still better in battery optimization

My watch 4 is last way past 18-19 hours. It's lasting me like two days. And that's with AOD always on.

I was unsure weather to get the gw4 or the ticwatch 4. To test the waters I already had a gear S3 which even 5 years on is just about to loose support. Great experience though. I purchased a ticwatch pro just to see how wear was performing. It was a laggy mess unfortunately to the point your advised to disable all the services. I had my heart set on the ticwatch pro 3 up until I realised it's already a year old. Sure it's getting wear 3.0 however Google seem to be in bed with Samsung at the moment and ultimately I feel Google are going to provide support for this longer than mobvoi will for the ticwatch pro.
I ordered the galaxy watch 4 in the end and overall I see the gear S3 with a boatload more features including the play store. This partnership has brought app development back to the wear platform benifiting both watches. So it's a plus for both parties.

No I strongly suggest you got for the galaxy watch. Especially if you have a galaxy phone.

What about the accuracy between the two?
tw3 is notoriously inaccurate... which is the main reason I returned mine. also way too big and cheap feeling. the battery life is good with the second display but it makes the amoled screen look washed out
I own both of these watches and even if I leave everything on, my galaxy watch 4 lasts way more than 18 hours. But yeah, I like the TWP3 battery size

TWP3 does NOT have wireless charging
Have the galaxy watch 4 classic 46mm, on my first charge , all on exept always on display is off on 36h an going 19% left, have hade a firmware update of the watch in this time aswell, so second
charge may be better

So google announced that wear os 3.0 will be faster and have greater battery than old wear os. Does that mean when ticwatch gets 3.0 wear os it will increase 🔋life for a bit?
They don't guarantee it, but since Ticwatch Pro 3 is still holding up against that new 4 Classic with the new 3.0 version already, I would say we are in for a nice treat when 3.0 arrives on Pro 3.
I want one but don't no what one to get
i have the first galaxy watch and the active 2 which i used in water swimming activities in my house pool and both of them have hold the claim of being ip68. this galaxy 3 did not hold even just one swimming time after just 3 weeks of ownership. send it to Samsung care and they won't honor the warranty and want me to pay 220 for the repair.
if you're planning to use it on water like swimming i would not recommend to buy it.
update: received the watch from the repair center and the back cover of the watch was broken, 3 of the 4 holes that keep it on please where broken. and was hanging by the cable from the sensor attached to the main board on the case.
I wish they released the ticwatch pro s silver with the pro 3 specs.. Looks way nicer

I'm not sure why almost every reviewer has to make such an effort to put down Bixby and raise Google Voice on a pedestal. (Nothing personal to Chigz, just in general) At least Bixby can send text and make calls. Google Voice/Assistant is well... broken.
Everybody is in love with the TPro3, but according to the description on Ama you can't shower, sauna or wash dishes with it. Wth?
Not even swim in a pool with it. Mine stopped working after 20 mins pool swim, replaced it and the next one could hold for 40 mins swim and stopped working too 🤦♂️! Returned it despite not being an Athlete, but if it says it supports swimming and can track it I would have expected it to be durable and reliable enough to handle that 🤷🏻♂️

Purchased TWP3 like 2 months ago and gottay say, I'm not disappointed at all, between those two TWP3 is a winner for me as battery life is one of my top priorities. Rotating bezel would be very cool to have tho, I'm curious what TWP4 will bring to the table.
Well about the battery life I have friends that the battery last about 2 days. But i think THINK that tic watch cannot use the rottating bessel
After about a month with the gw4 I would say i have serious buyers remorse. I suppose If you work in an office and your outside activities aren't really that dirty and you're ok with your watch spending 10% of it's life on a charger then maybe it's the watch for you, but i'd question why anyone would be ok with 1.5 days of juice on a watch that takes damn near 4 hours to charge from 0 to 100. It NEEDS a fast charge, at least to a certain percentage like the Garmins or something. I have always on display turned off and also barely ever use it outside of health monitoring, checking notifications and the time so the display is on for maybe 15-20 minutes of total time a day yet I have still never come close to 2 full days of power, my avg is 36 hours of life and that's a hard pill to swallow considering it means the watch has literally spent 1/10th of it's life on a charger and that is only going to get worse with time. On top of that it screws up sleep logging at least 4-5 nights out of the week and when I manually enter them into my s21 I have no actual sleep data for the night which defeats the entire purpose. The body fat scan almost never works, it takes like 8 attempts before it can come up with a number (which is wildly inaccurate as any bioimpedence scan is). The rotating bezel is nice and all but after 4-5 months of daily use and a job thats outside and kind of dirty my gw3s bezel acquired some gunk that couldn't be removed that caused it's rotation to become gritty, which I can only imagine will become an issue with the gw4 over time, plus..... It's got a touch screen, the novelty wears off and you end up just using your finger to swipe. If the bezels the only thing you care about and you don't ever find yourself getting that dirty then cool I guess, personally I'd rather have a watch that doesn't live on a charger.
Samsung overload with apps that you are never going to use, ticwatch clear software, I think you should wait for the ticwatch pro 4 to make a fair comparison, buddy.

For me the biggest letdown is you need Samsung phone to avail all features of Smartwatch . I am in for TW3 pro anyday.

I have the Ticwatch Pro 3 and have had issues with very poor battery life, forcing me to factory reset it twice in nearly three months. TBH, I’m a little disappointed in its battery life but it does - when it’s working properly - make it through two whole days and on into the third which is something the Galaxy Watch seemingly couldn’t do.
The Galaxy’s non-compatibility with iOS, poor battery life, lack of Google Voice and only offering ESG and blood pressure with Samsung phones mean that I will be happily staying with my Ticwatch Pro. For sure, the Galaxy Watch is the smarter and more premium watch but paying a premium price with all those drawbacks is difficult to stomach. The main issue for me is the drawbacks. For the premium looks you have to pay premium prices. So why did Samsung cheapen the offering by shipping it with a silicone strap that looks nowhere near as premium as that of the “sewn” Ticwatch’s? Cheapness or meanness messing with its otherwise premium image. Not great :(

Unfair comparison? Should have used GW4, not the Classic version. Prices then are the same. GW4 also has an LTE phone option, for extra money.
The blood pressure monitor, etc can work on non-Samsung Androids, with some technical manipulation. There is at least one RUclips video on this.
Both have 3rd party replacement bands and watch cases, so this is not really part of the comparison. Both these easily replacement options allow fashion adjustments for dress or work reasons.
Untested here are the voice & sound quality. We assume the wifi & radio qualities are the same? Otherwise a very worthwhile comparison.
I find the sensors on the Galaxy watch 4 very precise. My blood pressure was only one number from my certified blood pressure monitor. The pulse is dead accurate too and the GPS tracks almost perfect and far better than I have seen in the reviews of the Galaxy active 2. Battery also last more than one day. Battery saver is fine to use because every function still works, just not lift arm to wake up display.

I was sold on the TicWatch because my battery life was horrible with the GW3 at about half a day. I watched this just after placing my order for the TWP 3 (mistake I know) and the battery update comment made me think twice. Samsung has a 21 day try before you commit thing going on right now so I am going to check out both head to head. If the GW4 consistently lasts more than 24 hours I will be happy.
So what did you do at the end?

18hours batt life :/ damm love the fetures and design on the samsung watch 4, but that battery is just a no go from me, man this is sad, why did they have to skimp out on the battery, it sucks. gonna go with ticwatch pro 3 then, battery is KING for my usecase, i would go insane with 18hours batt life
