  • Come for a ride with me in this POV Test Drive in the Honda CRZ.
    In this POV Test Drive you can see what the Honda Crz is like to drive around town from the POV view so you can see what the visibility is like and driving position etc... I show you the one big flaw the Honda Crz has and that is the visibility out of the rear and the restricted view.
    We head out onto the B roads around Thornton le dale and Pickering and then head out up onto the North Yorkshire Moors which is just the perfect roads for the Honda CRZ.
    This is my first ever POV Drive Video so just getting to grips with the angles.
    Hope you enjoy this Honda Crz POV Test Drive 👍🏻👍🏻.

    3:24 I found that annoying too, at first. Now, I actually enjoy it. I do rely more on the side mirror, but having that bar there is amazing for blocking the high beam of the car behind you on the highway.

    I bought the improved version from new when it came out in 2013, which had a little more power. Still have it and love it. There is more internal capacity than you mentioned. I wonderous car to drive in the world we live in now. A great drivers car.

    Seeing interior space being brought up, for perspective owners: as a owner my experience cannot be more different than so many reviews (by people who normally had the car for a short period). Used the car for a two-night-three-day camping trip with two adults. Packed the following: two sleeping bags, two tents, one single air mattress, one single foam trekking mattress, two whole bags of food, two big hiking rucksack, one camera bag, one tripod, one foldable camping chair, 3 litres of water and there’re still room to fill rubbishes. Mind you this is all packed in a way that nothing obstruct the rear split window. Sure if you compare it to a 4-seater its no good, but it’s far from bad if not very good for a 2-seater. And if you’re looking at a small coupe you can’t do any much better these days (mind you most are not hatchbacks hence have far less usable boot space). I also see a lot saying it’s not more practical than an MX-5 which can’t be more wrong. For reference I can pack four factory wheels in and still have spare room, MX-5 would struggle with even one or two (unless you get a boot rack, but CR-Z can also get roof rack on top for even more)

      @@pittmotoring i find the economy pretty good. Tge great thing about the CRZ, as you pointed out, is that you feel like you are pushing it on backroads but in reality you arent. Due to the low driving position, great gear change, tight handling and engine/exhaust note, it feels like your driving faster than you really are. Therefore the economy is a nice surprise 😁

    Hi..amazing review. I am thinking about 2010-2011 CRZ but i am worried about the battery life, because most of have more than 110000 kilometres. What do you think ?

    • @pittmotoring
      @pittmotoring  Год назад +1

      Thank you. I think with any car it is one of those risks you take, the best thing you can do while searching for one is to check its history to see if it has had the Battery replaced and when.

    Not sure how you only got 41mpg, I own a 2010 CR-Z and regularly get at least 45mpg, often 50+. On longer trips I have had 55-60mpg. The lowest I get is around 36-38, but that’s when driving hard for a while.

    • @pittmotoring
      @pittmotoring  2 года назад

      A mix of town driving and B roads, I also have a heavy foot 😎. Thats great on longer trips.

    • @lm971120
      @lm971120 Год назад

      Agreed as a fellow owner, I think unless in cold weather/doing only short journeys, the low MPG is mostly down to people just constantly thrashing it at above 3000rpm (esp for people unaware of how IMA assists thinking they’ll only get more progress out by reviving high) when it switches to the high cam profile. And I can attest on B road it can still achieve a good MPG (even better in sports mode as it likes to assist more), unless with constant long hills (normal will be more useful as it has a much more ‘normal’ battery assist and consumption) - I say so as I use the car for Scottish B Road runs

    I have a 150hp Honda crz GT-T, let me say what a lot of CRZ owners wish for this car, A K-series version with a turbo or supercharger. If anyone is curious to a better CRZ release version, check out CR-Z Mugen RZ. This was the official supercharged CRZ, there were like 300 made though.

    Nice review mate, I just saw your mx5 video too and I am actually looking at getting a CRZ (the more sensible one) or an NC2 MX5. Since you have driven both which would you have as your daily/only car?

    • @pittmotoring
      @pittmotoring  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching both reviews 🙏🏻
      They are both fun to drive and both have their positives and negatives as a daily/only car. The mx5 is a drivers car, great to drive, handling is good but as a daily driver with the boot space and interior space its not very practical and isn't as economical as the crz in terms of a full time daily driver. The Crz has great economy on its side being a hybrid, not as quick as the mx5 and the mx5 handles better but as a daily driver, especially in the winter it would be the practical choice. Both different cars with their own plus points. All depends on what you want more in terms of a daily driver and what you want the most from it. practicality and economy along with a fun drive - Crz. If you can live with the practicality of a 2 seater convertible and not so much bothered about the economy and good fun driving then the mx5. All depends what you are wanting all together really. Both are good cars.
      Hope that may help.
