I wish when I was learning in the early 80s I had a Teacher like Steve hes teaching stuff it took me 20 yrs to learn . Got 30+ yrs under my belt now and have become the shred player I always wanted . With a teacher like this could have shaved off 15 yrs. or more since I have a natural ability . I was very lucky to have a good ear and was playing whole song rhythms in my first week but soloing and more complex stuff took yrs. Great job Steve !!
Thanks for the lesson Steve. Keep it up! Quick question: What is you opinion on resting (anchoring) vs floating wrist picking? Is it personnal preference? Or there are legitimate advantages from one to the other? Thanks in advanced!
that is so true. my major instrument is piano, I understand what you mean by pretending.it's the difference between playing around and practicing. you must always slow things down and get it right

Hi Steve. I have a problem when I practice fast alternate picking runs my left hand can keep up but my picking hand just seems to like slip and hit other strings and also miss the strings...what am i doing wrong
Hey Steve, been watching a bunch of your lessons lately. I started playing 6 months ago, but I'm having a lot of trouble picking still. My hands get sweaty when I try to bump up the speed and from that moment the pick just begins sliding around my hand no matter what I do. I've tried heavy picks, thin picks, medium picks, delrin picks, tortex picks, and it seems like they all keep sliding. As far as I know I'm angling the pick but it still always feels like it gets caught when I try to do alternate picking. Any tips?
Have you tried textured picks? Those might help. :-) Just wanted to give a heads-up about the GuitarZoom Black Friday Sale… Right now, you can get the Music Theory For Life Black Friday Bundle 60%-off the regular price, plus some awesome bonuses.
