I'm 2 yrs in, I used that tight hold for a year now I use just oil and water. Never had any build up . Remember less is more

I'm glad I'm not the only one that experiences itchy scalp after a retwist. After a week it calms down for me. I tried the lock it up one and it was okay!!!
my scalp is always itchy lol. someone said that it you add oil to your scalp again right after you retwist that can help. it’s definitely more of a soft hold but i love the way her products smell

Honestly I love the lock gel! I was recommended this by a loc professional. You said it best, you just went a little heavy on the gel lol! Beautiful results, I’m new to the loc world. so i’m planning on getting locs and i wanted to know how often to retwist
wait at least a month. you can chose to wait longer but it’s personal preference.
I’ve used this twice. It has a great hold, but when it’s time for my next wash, I can feel the gel still on my scalp and I have to scratch my scalp really good to get it off. But from what I’ve seen, all of the gel products seems to leave build up. I’ve also learned to oil my hair after I’ve twisted and let my hair dry. That makes the hold better for me.
yea most gels clear or not will leave some build up over time. thank you for that tip! ill try it out next month.
I've used this gel, but I don't think I'll stick with it because of the white flakes when it dried.nSo far, Lion Locs works best for me, so I'm going back to that. 🍯

I used aloe vera gel to twist my hair & it’s been holding up for the past few days the only con is it makes your hair feel really dry
i love the hold as well! just make sure to spray your locs consistently to combat the dryness.
That's my daily oil [Loose Natural].. the way my hair feels after using this oil 😩.. nothing else makes my hair feel the way it does.

i haven’t since i bought this product but i like the aloe vera way better. the hold is stronger

I use the oil but not the gel. It does cause a small amount of build up if you use too much.
