- The legends at Garmin invited myself and Mia Baker (Who absolutely stripes it by the way) to be some of the WORLD'S first people trying out the INCREDIBLE new Garmin Approach® R50 and it’s fair to say, I’m in LOVE with this thing😍
Using the Garmin Approach® R50, I’ll be taking on Mia in a three hole comp to see who comes out on top! We played the Jumeirah Golf Estates course, hopefully replicating the best of the best that are playing the course this week in Dubai 😂😬
This isn’t the only course you can play though, the Approach® R50 has 43,000 built in Golf courses from around the world (subscription required) so you can play virtually anywhere!

I have used the r10 at the range for a few years now, and it changed the way I practice. Also I enjoy going to the range 10x more now.
I am hopeful that we see some of the software on the r50 drop down to the r10
I kept waiting for a review of the R50 to come, but was offered only a chummy round of golf. After seven minutes I gave up and left.

Will gc quad sticker work on garmin r 50?? Because gcquad stickers are significantly smaller.

I wanted this to be an R10 upgrade, be a bit better than the Square Golf or MLM2Pro, not a huge box with an Android device stuck on top for 4.3k.
This is really targeted at people who want an easy home sim, I can't imagine many using it for practice on the range or anything.
You deserve penalty for grounding your club on the first hole in the bunker Ben! ;-=

You can putt on it. Speed training is unknown at the moment…
Cool product, but for my money I’ll stick with the Mevo plus with face impact and the pro package. Software and variability is king… and since you need a cpu and projector to use gs pro, and have a better experience, the cost value isn’t any better imo. Cool product though.
@@IdaGolfo the GSPro link will be released shortly. It will be part of the next major update.
@Papa-Bogey I don’t think you’re correct. I’m pretty sure that you will need a gaming cpu in order to play 3rd party software.
@@IdaGolfo Problem is the Mevo+ with face impact sucks for putting and short chips. It is also a lot more of a hassle to align, connect to computer, get your license for gspro and your connection for Mevo+. I find it a pain to use. In addition GSPro is a lot more money for the subscription and you can't play Home town courses as there are fewer of the small town courses modeled. Flightscope also charges huge fees for every dang little update to the software that adds any additional functionality. I have complained about the fact that you have to tie up your Wifi connection to Mevo+ and need a separate wired connection or second wifi to connect to your internet. I requested being able to connect the Mevo+ to your network and then being able to connect by searching for devices on your network and connecting to the Mevo+. That way you could have internet access for both the Mevo+ the computer and they could talk to each other. Flight scope said they weren't going to add that functionality as it works Okay as just an access point. After spending $4000 on the Mevo+ with all the bells and whistles, paying for a sucky windows laptop and subscription for GSPro or E6 Apex you are going to be in for way over $6000. Whereas with the R50 you get good putting (no dropped shots) good chipping (no dropped shots) and I can play my local courses on the Home Tee Hero simulator. I already have my order in for the Garmin R50. It is just too dang easy, convenient and offers more features than my Mevo+.
Good to see they have considered those with red / green colour blindness. Looks decent though.
@@EmbeddedGolf seriously? Less than 8% of the population is colorblind (as am I). I’ve learned to deal with it.

Thanks for sharing. So, all controls are via touch screen...on the floor? Yeah, that's a hard pass, no matter how good the data is. I imagine it only gets worse outside of course play, when you're actively switching between practice modes, club selection, data screens, etc. Please tell me there's support for an external touch screen?
agree!! having to bend over and get close to that tiny screen every time you want to move that aim spot or change clubs seems like a pain...now if you don't have a projector set up, or ipad, or computer you plan to use, it could be a nice all integrated unit. But if you have a grander set up, then this is less than ideal.
Just plug it into a laptop or pc of you are that way inclined.
@@scallywagturk That option is not presented in the currently available marketing...It says you can connect to a projector, but nothing about controlling the device from an ipad or computer. Not saying you can't, just sayin i was not able to find anything that said you could.
@drewlance5406 am sure we will learn more as the new vids appear online. I would have thought that's what the USB c port is for.
Gold busters made a video, they didn’t show it, but multiple times they claimed you can hookup via BT or Wifi to a PC to play using other software like GS pro

The Garmin R10 costs $500 if you want a cheaper model.
@ i had a garmin R10 for about two weeks before selling, rubbish!
