Love the old DC books ! That Action #50 is a nice cover too. Bummer they most all had some kind of damage (moisture, loose covers, missing pages, etc). Could've been worse though... could have been eaten up by mice and other critters !
Nice finds! It reminds me of a set of six May 1945 comic books that I scored at a rural Kansas auction a decade ago. They were in a flat with several common 1970s comic books. The auction ended before they got to the flat. I found the owner and he wanted $20 for the flat. I could not get my $20 bill out fast enough to buy them! There were a Startling Comics #33 and a Super Magician Comic in the mix. No Superman or Batman, but I was still grinning for a long time after.
It definitely smelled like time travel! 🤣 That said, I’m pretty sure this collection is the oldest on average that I’ve found to date. That Single Series 18 is from 1940!
Drew, love the sound effects. I don’t think everyone appreciate how funny you really are. Jack Burnley art. Oh man I love his stuff. Planet comics are always in demand. I used to have a few but I sold them to get Shadow and Bulletman comics. Everyone’s got their favorites Nice haul. Nice video. Only thing that would have made it better is some shots of driving through the Missouri countryside. Golden age is my favorite. Thanks for posting. Although Vigilante is one of my favorites my favorite is the Action Comics with the miners in the background.
Thanks Jesse! I didn’t dare record anything while driving. I don’t think there were two consecutive miles in a straight line the whole time I was off of the interstate. Up, down, left, right, and every combination of them all.
The seller was actually the one who found them and gave me a call, but had I been the one digging and would have found them, I’m sure it would have been all smiles.
Amazing score Drew ! Those WW2 Action issues are great. Definitely keep # 50 for yourself. I would ! I feel like every superhero collector worth their salt should have at least one GA ACTION, DETECTIVE, SUPERMAN and BATMAN. So far I have one Detective and one Batman from the GOLDEN Age but no Superman or Action - yet.
@@CoMoComicBooksBig logo Action covers are classic, IMO. Some of the later ones get a bit silly though. The Detectives in the same numbers would be amazing, but Batman started much later in those than Superman in the Actions.
Was just scrolling and stumbled across your channel, new subscriber here! Wow! Great finds here! Dig all the A.C. of Superman! Thanks for the video! Looking forward to more great content!
I always scratch my head When I see Bronze to modern age comics For $4-$500 Then Golden age issues For $400-$500. Golden age stuff can be. Very hard to find. Those early DC comics Are awesome!
Thanks for watching Billy. That’s not something I discuss on the channel, since most of what I do buy is for resale. You’d be amazed how often it can get thrown in your face that you paid “$x” for a book in a collection and now want FMV for resale.

Rodent chew is definitely a devastating defect. Now that I think about it, it’s amazing that they don’t have any chew.
Love the video…great finds no matter the condition…my favorite is Planet Comics #43…
Thanks for watching!!! I’m really tempted to hold onto it, but also hate to keep 20% of the whole damn collection for myself!
Hi CoMo --- congrats on the rare find. Golden age comic aren't unearthed often.

You really never know!!!
This was so cool. Would have loved to have had some video of you in the farmhouse when you first saw the books.

That’s not a bad goal! I now have an Action, a Superman, and several Detectives, but my earliest Bat is 121!
Great collection. I love all the Actions
Me too! I want to make myself sad and see what Detectives those issues of Action correlate to. May make me wish it was Tecs instead.

YOU'RE THE MAN! CONGRATS! 😉
Thanks! 😃

Sweet score, Drew! 👏
I bet Ryan will be smiling like a proud dad when he sees your first Planet 😂
The Actions caught his eye! Thanks for watching!
Nice find, I have that Leading Comics in CGC 8.0 those sold values sound pretty good. Those are some cool Action Comics.
That’s a nice book! Thanks for watching!
Like the planet comics.
It’s pretty cool! It will be tempting to hold onto…
How much did you pay?
Thanks for watching Billy. That’s not something I discuss on the channel, since most of what I do buy is for resale. You’d be amazed how often it can get thrown in your face that you paid “$x” for a book in a collection and now want FMV for resale.
Great find, will they be for sale?
Most of them will be! They’ll be out at the 11/26 Spector Club show in STL!
I know a farm house. So your saying there is a chance !! ??
💯! Check all of the nooks and crannies!
