  • Demonstration of the content of a seminar on Attacking the Legs.
    The Koryu Uchinadi Quadrant drill entries are used, followed up with attacking the legs in order to compromise the opponent's stance and posture, keep them off balance and moving, and ultimately put them on the ground. The instruction focused on critical dependencies for attacking legs including how target, leg angle, and weight distribution affect the desired outcome such as moving the foot or bending/straightening the knee, etc.
    Techniques are performed for demonstration purposes at high speed with a non-resisting opponent. Of course in training you must work up to an aggressively resisting opponent.
    Performance by Cody Stewart (Calgary, Canada), Josh Stewart (Mississauga, Canada), Kai Kleinitz (Calgary, Canada

    This's what real martial art look like. Nowadays too many sport and tournaments in modern martial art, thank you for keeping and shining the true spirit of deadly art that was rooted and developed by the Ryukyuan people.

    It's annoying that it's taken me five years to find this stuff. Shows how much shit there is on youtube and in the world from people that shouldn't be teaching. Solid stuff!

    Fantastic, after training various martial arts for about 15 years, and recently discovered the more practial side of karate via Iain Abernethy, this might be the closest to how I imagine a guy like e.g. Motobu Choki would have approached it!

    If i remember well, these techniques are basic moves of Ninjitsu, we can also find them in various kungfu styles. Bruce Lee wrote a book full of similar techniques for self defence. He said he had big experience of street fight when was very young in China.

    I'm sure I can work it out by watching this video many many times, but do you have a step-by-step video explaining these leg attacks?
    Love it!

      @monsterprone353  7 лет назад +1

      Unfortunately I haven't done an explanation video. It's on my list to do one that speaks generally about what you're trying to accomplish with attacking the legs, but I had not intended to do one specifically explaining this video.

    What kind of belt are you wearing? Gucci belt? Lol🤣😂
    Edit: Sorry I don’t know about all this stuff.

    • @monsterprone353
      @monsterprone353  5 лет назад

      It’s prada, actually. (Did I get that right? Prada is a thing, right?).
      In some traditional karate organizations the belt could signify instructor accreditation, hanshi, kyoshi, renshi, etc. in order to differentiate from the plain black belt you may train in, which makes no distinctions.
