Man this video got me into fully painting my models (not just few base colors) I'm really enjoying it. I hope to see a Ork video like this at least for it's armor like Killa kanz, deff dreads etc.. I'm a bit stuck
Really nice, I’m still waiting for mine to come off backorder from a store but when I finally get them ill be sure to follow your advice on painting them!
I know this old but I was curious how many coats of the retributor armor did you spray on? I used chaos black to prime but the gold seems pretty thin over the black and is much darker than yours was.
Pretty much everywhere that was gold, although if you wanted a slightly different color you could instead use Seraphim Sepia on eagle on the chest and the shoulder pads instead.
The GW sprays are not great primers, personally I would recommend using a plastic primer first and then apply the colored spray over the top. Using a black primer beneath also has the added benefit that if you miss any areas with the gold spray, like the crevices, the black just makes them look shaded instead of just being grey plastic :)
With respect there is every need to use a black or grey primer, the gold is not a primer and does not aid in the painting. you are meant to build up or scale down from a primer, gold is no good for this. I use black and scale up through off golds. If you use gold to start from you will struggle to make it look effective. I started with black and it helped but grey is just as good. instagram.com/p/BiEytr2n6JT/?taken-by=ben_ellis_138
@@y2j1490yahoo you said it looks 10x better just with base colors. Does that mean applying one base colour and leaving it with no dry brush and wash? Im new to this stuff so idk.

Love these quick painting vids and wish there were more!
Quick and informative! Only thing I plan on doing different after watching this is use the fleshshade before drybrushing, I think it well help it pop.
Amazing. Thanks. I am working on VP's now. One thing that I did that looks great is to drill out the ends of the exhaust stacks....

Awesome Tutorial and as a Painting Noob I have to say that its much easier than the official WarhammerTV Tutorial (Drybrushing ftw!)
Though I don't agree with everything in this video, it's still a great quick tutorial for a really nice basic painting!
A nice quick and efficient way to paint these guys to a decent standard. Perfect for a lazy bastard like me
Brilliant tutorial! Thank you
Excellent vid planning to use this scheme!!!! Awesome thankss
Hello thank you very much for this easy Tutorial.i will try it at the Weekend.

This is just great !
This guys voice sounds exactly like pete the wargamers. Any feel the same?
if i were to apply this to the custodian guard, which parts of the armor would i use the reikland fleshshade?
Pretty much everywhere that was gold, although if you wanted a slightly different color you could instead use Seraphim Sepia on eagle on the chest and the shoulder pads instead.
why did you prime black and then gold. isnt the gold spray also primer?
Retributor armour spray isn't a primer as well. You can spray it straight on if you want but it won't stay on as well.
the gold apray acts as a primer as well btw, so no need for the black undercoat

Do you water down golden Griffin
No its dry paint
Thanks for replying
This is basically a pure heretic paint scheme. Chapeau!
Is this not TWG??
Why prime it in black first? Just use Retributor Armour as a Primer, no?
The secret is
*THIN YOUR PAINTS*
how much though? when he says 1 part water, 1 part paint, what does that mean?
@@johansmifthelry9307 oh well, I plan to get in the hobby, but actually, I'm not painting miniature :D
looks terrible to be honest. Would like 10x better just base colors and then dipped. Its messy and incomplete looking.
I was gonna follow this as a first time painter for custodes. Could you please elaborate?
