Pretty common misconception about these trucks is that the side tool box means it is a camper special. The fact is the tool box is a stand alone option to the camper special package. (Although the majority of them had them because they are very handy with a camper taking up all your bed space!) The camper special package included a different frame harness that had a connector to hook up your camper but it also included long arm 3 leg western mirrors, cowl badges, amp and oil pressure gauges and heavy duty alternator and battery.
Thanks Matt! So it sounds like this means that a camper special could have been delivered without a toolbox, but if you see a truck with a toolbox, it means that it is definitely a camper special? So the truck had to be a camper special if there is a toolbox. Or was the toolbox a standalone option available on any truck?
@@DashRiprock576 The tool box is a stand alone option to any 2wd. So a camper special could be had without the box if desired. But very rare for them not to have it thus the misconception started that the box is a indicator of a camper special. Also No tool boxes were optioned on 4wd trucks.

I am a Chevy guy and a Ford guy. Love them both. Both of these trucks went to good homes. I bought a survivor 1972 Ford F250. I bought it from the original owner and the paint is original with no rust. I did a couple of videos on it, they are on my channel.

Hi Good looking trucks. This brings me back to my first vehicle. It was a 1970 F-100 long bed Ranger. I hot rodded that truck a lot. Had a 302 with a three on the tree. I bought it when I was 15 yrs old working at the 66 Hwy full service gas station. You really do have nice trucks!! I would have to go with the Cream color Fancy Truck. Wow they sure bring back memories. Good job purchasing them, John.
Sell ginger to me in about two months from now. Beautiful truck, classic and ALL AMERICAN. Love those high boys. The grill on ginger is awesome in my opinion.

I mean, who buys trucks and just parks them and doesn't even put miles on them? And I'm not talking about working them to death, but I'd be at least dailying these trucks.
@critterg8493 I sold the Sequoia Brown an Empire yellow truck a few days ago, as for the fancier truck, I could go either way, I love the truck and do not mind owning it long term. I have a whole bunch of money invested into it, so I’m probably keeping it for that reason.
@JPVDW The person that restored this truck had almost $30,000 invested in the truck before he even took it apart and restored it. He paid a premium for a rust free 57,000 actual mile truck. It is restored to way better than new condition. I would have to get $122,000 for Ginger. it just appraised for $110,000 about a week ago.
It's amazing that these trucks survived. They were work horses and were used and abused often with little maintenance. Treasure those gems!
