Sounds and patches like this is why I'm glad I bought the Behringer Deepmind 12 when I did. Especially that I got a great deal on it. It probably is one of the smartest purchases I made in the last 3 years. Great job. 👍👍👍👍👍
That's a very nice patch. Simple and short demonstration of Deepmind. It's a really good synth and doesn't cost arm & leg. I have one (DM12) as well and despite having several other analog polyphonic synths I keep coming back to it. Built-in effects (along with ability to modulate their parameters) is the secret sauce of Deepmind, IMO.
Nice construction, love the pacing, quite a bit of character in the timbre here, and the chord sequences are melodic without being obtrusive. Just bought an MD12, looking forward to the many possibilities this synth affords the creative mind.
Thanks a lot! Means a lot coming from you :). Fortunately the arm is healing up quite quickly now. Finishing up a lot of delayed composition work at the moment, hopefully back to just messing around with synths soon as well :)
I got the12 during the initial stage of lockdown on a deal from Thomann - synth, stand, padded gig bag & a pair of little powered speakers (2 x 18W) - for the ridiculous price of £666 - still got the reciept. Within an hour I was creating by tweaking existing patches, the next day I'd saved about 20 & within a month I'd amassed enough to say to my synth player (I'm a bassist that loves early '80's analogue Hawkwind style synth in the band I'm in, not that they let me do it!) "Don't overight anything that's got my initials at the end of the patch, otherwise enjoy & do whatever the fuck you want." I haven't got it back yet as I know where it is so no worries but this has made me think "I want this bugger back at mine, wonder what my mate has saved?" That's my weekend sorted. Lovely.
Nice one! I definitely agree it's really easy to work on sounds on the Deepmind! The settings buttons per section save a lot of time menu diving as well, which helps keeping things intuitive. Sounds like a great plan for the weekend to work on some more sounds :)
Beautiful presentation... About 5 years ago I was in doubt about investing in Minilogue or Deepmind, and I preferred Korg for having the controls more at hand and oscillator mix. But today I want to have a DM12, with an extra octave. I fear because I sometimes do live performances and live on the coast, and the DM has a very open box, with the internal source ventilating ... I would prefer that it was better closed to avoid contact with moisture, etc.. What would you say about the differences between Korg and Behringer (except for the effects that the DM has much more versatility)? Is there any dependence on the tablet application to set up sample presets, either in the sequencer, or in a final production of a timbre? I wanted to better understand its performance advantages over the korg. Congratulations and good health!
Thanks a lot! I've never had any problems with the open box of the Deepmind, performing outside, I think you should be fine. Hmmm I think the biggest difference is the voice count, Since Minlogue only has four voices, the DM12 would be a huge upgrade, It just allows for more flexibility in the parts you can play. I've actually never used the iPad/desktop editor for the Deepmind. It's really layed out great, with a lot of extra functions really easily accessible through dedicated buttons in each section, so no complicated menu diving. Apart from the really cool effects section, there's for instance a modulation matrix that allows for deep modulation possibilities, which is really cool. I think for the money it really is a no brainer honestly. I'd choose my Deepmind over my Minilgue any day. Hope that helps!
I've just bought a deepmind 12. I'm going to put my minilogue xd up on ebay. Its not as menu divey as u may think. Every menu is accessible under the relevant parameter (button under lfo, filter etc)(The digital oscillator menu on the XD is more of a pain to use).. The mod matrix, 2 lfos, 3 envelopes and 12 voices make so much more possible as far as sound design goes. It's a massive step up from a minilogue.
Hmm, more voices can definitely be fun! However I would suggest trying out another synth, to compliment the sound of your Deepmind, and to inspire new sounds :)
It's interesting to see the Minilogue right behind it. Can you also get Juno types of sounds on the Minilogue? I guess you would have to get external effects but I'm guessing the basic pad and bass sound can be replicated?
I think they sound a little different, but it's definitely possible to get vintage sounding tones from the Minilogue as well. Over a good pa system it can sound just amazing!
Nice work. I notice it has a click on the attack; something which was highlighted in a yt review of the UB-Xa, which was not present in the Oberheim next to it. The reviewer was not clear that it could be edited out via the envelopes. Is this a Behringer trait?
@@davidjrmeilak3448 You can programme this sound with reverb effects on your own! Take a look H-80 “Soft Mono” from start, and module reverb effect. The melody is in F major 7th, descending fifths! Very easy.
How in the world is this patched ? Especially the reverb and such sound amazing, I have not been able to get anything even nearly as good as this out of mine !
Thanks so much! I think the dynamics in this patch help it a lot, I've mapped a lot of parameters to the mod wheel, to really be able to make the patch grow :)
@@nolram not at my studio at the moment, but I’m pretty sure it’s both the square and saw wave, low on the filter, a little attack envelope on the filter, some release, that’s basically the core of the sound:)
Thank you! This track hasn't been released indeed, no plans at the moment, but I might build on it later on :) I am however finishing up my new album with a lot of synth + piano stuff!
I love that patch. Bang for buck, the Deepmind 6 is a great synth. built some amazing patches myself.

Got to agree. Almost every parameter can be accessed by the mod matrix for some amazing sounds.

Hey, this patch is so beautiful... can you imagine to explain more detailed how you designed it or to release this patch?
And this one! Love it :) Hope your arm heals quickly and you can get back to the synthy goodness soon!!

sounds rich, I like.
This synth competes with some of the giants and such a wonderful price.
Sounds nice 👍 .
Can you upload the .syx file of this patch..? I'd love to relax with it. The delicate distorted harmonics hit the feels hard.
Thank you! Sorry no plans to release this patch as of yet, because I'm using it in some upcoming music, but who knows, maybe at some point :)
