I saw a video of someone using the core 5 claw. Experiencing the same issues you were (not getting those temps though), but found that playing unplugged on balance was a whole different experience. Got to hope this will be fixed in bios/driver updates. My pre-ordered one should arrive next wednesday

Ultra performance is gonna make it more difficult to generate frames in game. Set everything to low settings. Should be better.
on my rog ally z1 extreme I get 120 frames 720p upscaled to 1080p its buttery smooth.
Ouch, those temps! The max wattage I have tried on my Ayaneo kun with a 7840u is 45 watts and the temp never went above 75 degrees. Can't imagine that 100+ degrees being radiated from the apu over a period of time will be good for the other components in the handheld (ssd, display, sd reader etc)
Intel inside. I actually saw some previews listing that as a positive.
I saw in a video by piano feng he mentions having the same overheating throttle issue then found sometimes the fan profile switches to advanced by itself and you have to switch it back to auto to fix the problem.
Have you tried a lower wattage performance setting? Those temps are probably causing all sorts of throttling issues. It might run better with less power, at least in terms of artifacts, and stutter if not overall fps.

The high temperatures are bringing me Intel bad vibes on the laptops and older MacBooks with intel cpus which got way too hot. Not looking too promising for intel unless they bring on the updates

Thats terrible I just bought the ally a week ago I get about 100 to 120 unplugged at 1080p in this game

MSI probably took Intel's money under contract and then realized how bad the processor was; that they shouldn't waste too much time on it. Just put it in a ROG copycat plastic body and let it not sell for being overpriced and under-performing so you don't have to deal with warranties and updates. 😂

@wuttehfuk I had a steam deck when it released, and I returned it as it didn't work as expected, and a lot of games were unsupported. Plus, xbox pass didn't work. Now I preorder the claw next week it will arrive as I'm from UK but for what I'm seeing the claw doesn't behave very good and I'm thinking maybe i will cancel the preorder to buy a rog ally . Still very confus🙃

well, intel makes terrible gpus, their cpus are lagging behind AMD. and they are more expensive.
Just get a SteamDeck. I tried the ROG Ally and it doesn't hold a candle to the Deck. The Claw looks to be another "eh" Windows based handheld with horrid battery life.

Lmao over 100 pls dont stress the device it will destroy the components inside. The reason it stutters is probably because intel chips eat ram like snacks. 16gb of ram will not be enough for intel chips because windows already took 4.
