Every camera should have the LCD screen that is on the Sony a7R V, and this debate will finally be over. You can have your photography focused style screen as well as please ANY video shooter out there. This is the screen I like the most, best of both worlds. I shoot too many cameras as it is but if my Nikon Z9 had the Sony a7R V screen I would be SO stoked. I don't know why the camera companies haven't ALL caught on to this. Unless they are concerned about production costs, which I think they would make up in customer satisfaction and new customers moving over from other systems. This is a TOTAL whiff for any companies excluding screens like this (Sony a7R V and Sony a9iii) IMO. Great Video, thanks for sharing.
Yes, I cannot agree more. That would be ideal to a screen that does both articulate movements to accommodate photographers and videographers. I hope that Nikon and Canon will catch up with Sony a7RV design of the rear screen.
Hi, I'm a birth photographer and I love Zf for my type of work! This camera has so many functions but I still don't use them all, that's why I'm here... I'm learning a lot with videos like this! I can't find videos about birth photography or tips for recording and editing birth videos here on YT, do you know of any channels that teach about this? I'm teaching myself... I've been a photographer for 7 years, but there's always more to learn! Thank you for sharing your content with us ;)
Nice Video, I have the Nikon Zf as well, and find it to be a very capable camera, I couldn't help but to notice the Table-Top stand that's attached to your camera, can you tell me the Brand Name, as this is something I would definitely purchase. Thanks, Jim
The small stand is from the DJI mobile gimbal extension. I’ve have it for over 5years. But there are many of those on the market. Just look for one that has a quarter 20 screw.
Z6III does everything that Zf can do and more, but yes you would waive the retro style and slightly smaller form factor. Otherwise Z6III offers more tech.
ZF helps you slow down and enjoy the process of photography. Love the manual focus display as well. I do wish there were options for banks or user modes for my sports photography. I still get amazing photos but have to change the settings each time I need it.
If I will get 28-400mm and maybe 14-30mm too, should I get Zf or Z6III if I shoot for fun, contest and gig if I can find some? If the dedicated layout on Zf really fun that you will actually use them and Z6III typical PASM layout shoot like a computer as some said? By the way, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, currently I'm looking for more works, do you love to have a logo for your channel's branding to have a memorable graphic based monogram logo to help your audience recognise and follow your channel easier? I would love to design a photography themed logo inspired by your direction for you! Let me know if you interested to make it happen! :-)
Hello, I just bought a ZF. can you teach us a easier way to navigate the ISO control Not really want to waste a function button for ISO. How does the deal and autoISO work together?
Customize the i menu, assign one square for iso. To adjust, click I menu, click the iso square, then use the index dial to switch to auto iso and thumb dial for iso increment
In photo, I set max ISO for what I want and customized the Video (red button) to ISO. Then use the video button and command wheel to scroll through ISO. When I push the video button front scroll wheel is auto iso on or off. Video button and Rear command goes through ISOs. Hopefully that helps.
I only use the ZF for photography, but I put the Auto ISO to "on", then set max to 200 (the lowest in the menu). Then I have my ISO dial on the camera set to 200. If I need higher value, I turn the dial and the upper limit of the ISO changes to what the dial is set to. No need to use menus again, unless you need a specific ISO value. :)
@@VandrefalkTVyou shooting in A? In M it should even work as that you redefine the range Auto-ISO can use. So for example if you set it to 3200, the camera will now seek the lowest value between 200 and 3200 for your correct exposure
Im with the folks who think the video functions should just disappear off this camera. Z6 iii can have it, z8, z9. Why does the zf need it? Rig out a zf for functions that other cameras have.
@@ZachAshcraft I'm already bothered by the video menu items. It should at least be possible to deactivate the video functions completely. I don't need this shit. For 90% of all videographers, smartphones or actionscams are perfectly adequate. Filming with large system cameras is for busybodies. Real professionals use RED or Blackmagic cameras.
Let me know if you find that I might have missed some important Nikon Zf features...and what those are?
I deeply appreciate your intentions and effort in producing such videos. thank you sir . zf will be my first more manual camera in 20 years. soon
Thank you for your kind words. Enjoy the Zf experience!

Thank you for showing those pre capture & touch screen features, solved my frustration with the round wheel when using evf. Well done

That is awesome that you use the Zf for birth photography! I'm sure the images you capture are fantastic.

Just can't decide between Z6 III and Zf... Zf for all those old-school controls. Z6 III for all the tech..

The answer is both
@@DesmoMarcel Yes definitely.. But, that is about $4,500.00 decision.. Plus the Z glass (I have F lenses) and F2Z adapter(s).
@@JasonMoody agree. I just need to go a camera shop and play with both for a while then decide..

It would have been fine if Nikon kicked off all this video stuff, to become a real photography only camera.
Nikon just provides what customers are asking for. Video capabilities is what (in some ways) put Nikon back into big 3!
nothing stopping you from buying a nikon F3

if i ewanted to shoot videos i'd buy a video camera i'll never understand why i have to pay hundreds more for video features i will never use
