How did the Lombards become the Kings of Italy?

There are two things that you should be aware of whilst watching the video. 1) I kept it very short and left out many important details about the Lombard's journey and 2) much of the story is strongly influenced by the "historia langobadorum" which was written by a medieval historian who lived in the Lombard kingdom, which certainly makes for an interesting story, but also for many made up elements to it (so be cautious and consider this rather an interesting narrative than scientifically proven representation of the past. Interesting video, as Lombards are often one of the main arguments as to why modern Italy can't claim the mantle of the Roman Empire descendant.
