- They brought the FULLY ELECTRIC NAUTIQUE to my backyard! This is my in-depth review of the lightning powered Ingenity Electric Nautique GS22E.

Looks like a really well put together boat. About 10 years ago there was the Epic 23E and 21SE electric wakeboard. They too were priced for "early adopters" but with only a 60kWh pack. Would have expected a bigger price reduction than 300k for this boat today unless you are only planning on making 10 ever. I only see about $130k of boat and powertrain there.
Wow you stuffed the nose and almost paddled back in. I was riding with my houseboat neighbor (west coast camps) at lake McClure, and mike paddled back in from behind the crest. Most amazing wake surfing thing I have ever seen.

I fly electric powered brushless RC Planes and Helicopters for the last 20 years. We have seen the cost really drop over time for the motors, ESC’s, and batteries. This is new for boats. The cost will also drop over time. Love how quiet they are. 👍🏻
DJ, I used to fly E planes too:) Had a few different ones and really liked the WW2 models. And I agree w you on the price. I remember when I first got a portable DVD player to travel and bring my DVD's with me, which was revolutionary. $700 for the player. Now, about $25. Not saying we'll see boats drop in that kind of decrease but tech has to start somewhere and hopefully as things progress, the prices drop. Hopefully:)
I think pushing the electric boat concept is awesome Nautique always pushing forward! There is great future potential, battery breakthroughs could be game changing for the electric motor, as for now, I’m lovin the Yanmar diesel option.

Oh yea! I'm gonna land one next summer. I tried a lot in the last 3 months and I've landed it once but let go of the rope. The best thing about it is that even when you fall tantrum attempts rarely hurt at all!

Interesting however @ 14 minutes you mention the charging issue. It sounds as though the system is using a water cooling pump to cool batteries while charging (hence the water strainer/or print issue), this leads to the real question in order to do a decently fast charge (8 hours approx.) does it require the boat to have this cool water pump to keep batteries at lower temperature (lithium no likey heat). If that’s the case this would necessitate the boat to be in the water to charge the batteries in a timely fashion (due to the need of constant cool water for battery heat mitigation. ).
From what I understood from their explanation, yes. It needs to have water to cool it.
so.. max time you get is about 4 hrs? It is awesome though.. absolutely love it.. unrelated: what was used for the aerial shots? mavic? mode? Your content is DA BEST Shawn! Peace!!!
Love the boat but 300k for only 2-3 hours of water sport time is not worth it at all.

Seemed like a cool idea being quiet. But 10am to 2pm doesn’t seem like much time for a full charge. Over summer we do in-between 6 or 7 hours a day. Which I thought would be pretty normal for most boat owners
You're pretty spot on w the times but remember that we are in the early adopters stage. Nobody else is doing this and they are charging forward. Pun intended 😆. And some people only go out for their slalom set, then pull their buddy, then back home. Works in that scenario really well.
Literally double the $$$ of a regular GS22. Literally the same ballpark of a PARAGON!!! 😮🤯
This might be the future of boats, but not in mine for now 😂

That's a solid question. You pretty much moved 100% of the boat buyers in this category out of this boat simply because they want to keep their 300k boat on a hoist. What about people who trailer?

Hey Shaun Murray, weird spot to ask, but I purchased one of your 2020 150cm wakeboards, and I love riding it, but I broke it early in the season and got it replaced once (that was after a really hard crash and I’m pretty heavy so I assumed that wasn’t a huge deal) but last weekend I was just practicing my wake to wake jumps and hadn’t even crashed and the board broke/bent again. Both breaks were right behind the mounting plate of the my front boot. I weigh about 260 lbs so maybe that’s what has caused my issues. But have you ever heard of that happening? I can’t imagine I did anything wrong with the second board since I hadn’t even crashed hard on it yet. Is there like a weight limit and I’m just too heavy to wakeboard? I love doing it and am trying to learn my first inverts but am beginning to get really frustrated with breaking equipment. (I’ve also had some bindings break previously, the team x bindings 3-4 times. But have since switched to the system pro bindings, and that seems to have helped)
ive snapped a board and had a boot rip off of jumps when I overshot the wake and landed out on the flat. at the time I was under 150 pounds. Just make sure you have the right size board. The size charts normally have suggestions for both your height and weight, make sure whichever has the higher coordinating board size you go with that one.

Wait, so the 300K boat doesn't come with a charger??
Good question but since there are so many different charger options, which effect charging time, they leave that up to the customer. Pretty sure electric cars do the same, but yeah, 300K isn't cheap either way.
It should come standard with the basic charger and the fast charger is a upgrade.

What’s the situation with the ballast? Standard set up ?
Electric boat has about 1000 lbs dry weight advantage over the gas gs22. A small portion of the ballast capacity is removed to help with this. overall, a loaded electric model will be heavier than a loaded gas model.

That's cool, but I honestly think I'd rather have the roar of a traditional engine. The exhaust on a skiboat is part of the fun. But engineering wise, that Natique is very cool!

A brilliant idea but still, at 300 K+ for a boat, it is still way too expensive.
Everyone is saying "electric" is the future but not everyone can afford these new technologies.
A clever idea would have been to put also some solar panels on that boat (bimini top, hull, etc.).

My gas boat cost $80,000, 2016 Centurion Enzo SV233. I don’t think I’ll spend $220,000 on gas in my life time. I think I’m good unless California bans gas 🤷🏻♂️.

If that’s not “designed” into them then their engineers should be fired as they don’t know how to actually design a reliable boat.
