Wow this video was super helpful, it answered so many questions I had but could not find in other videos. Thank you!
Really informative 💯💯
Awesome video, and I love the continuation of this series. This allows everyone to understand the differences between the two, in all aspects

I moved to El Paso in 2019. Just got sworn in at Ft. Bliss in May. I ship out for bmt at Lackland Airforce base on 7/13. I can't wait.
Hey how has it been so far in the progress? I’m thinking of joining the Air Force
From Midwest city Oklahoma love the Air Force base there !
Oof the recruiter didnt know that you qualify for the VA home loan if you accumulate 90 total days of active duty orders.
How do you do that
Yea what are the chances a reservist will get to deploy for 90 days?
Basic training and boot camp counts as active duty
Can I work multiple weekends instead of just 1 weekend?
So after BMT as a reserved member of the airforce you only get 250 dollars to work and nothing else?
So assuming someone was to join the USAF reserves , and with their college background I would assume they would come in as an officer. How much would be earned per month the for drill pay?
Assuming O-1 would the answer to the above question be $451?
What about parole in place for my Wife does reserve give that benefit or for Parents ?
Going into sir reserves
Can you go home under active guard orders, or do you have to stay on base?
Does the airforce reserve pay for 2 masters degrees?
Does a Reservist or Guardsman who served a 6 yr contract (including temp f/t temp AGR & ATR tours) ever receive a percent of "retirement pay" at a particular age??
It's a 401k plan now not a retirement check for the rest of your life.
@@airforcereservesgtwalker My 6 yr ANG contract was 1991-1997 +2yrs IRR in USAFR. I had a mix of statuses (Title 32 AGR, Air Reserve Technician-dual duty, TDYs @ Pentagon, Andrews & Guardsman). Hon Disch 1999. Im 46yo civilian now. What age should I contact VA for post-service financial determination? I served 8 yrs total & thought only 20yr vets were entitled to retirement pay. (Each yr, however, I did get a Point Service Summary from Personnel, showing various diff service credits)
So you was the old retirement plan top three which you're correct complete 20+ years to receive retirement. In 2019 they dropped that and went to a blended retirement plan adapting the 401k equivalent
@@airforcereservesgtwalker Based on your answer, does that mean I'm entitled to no, or a small % of retirement pay determined by personnel (at 60, 65 or whatever), based on the fact that I served as a temp AGR for sev mths during my university summers off, twice + our O-7 Wing Commander appointed me another active ID/temp 3-mth Appointment as an Executive Dual (GS) Civil Service Air Reserve Technician (ART) for Dept of USAF, while maintaining Air Nat'l Guard Status for 6 yrs? Each of my 6 yrs I rec'd a point summary from personnel which listed each Title 32 active duty day, each ANG drill day, & all out of state PME training days (as well as Title 10 initial BMT/Tech School) & TDYs to Pentagon (for Nat'l Guard Bureau assistance) & an invite to Andrews AFB TDY the nxt year to serve the Air Nat'l Readiness Center. You & I have somewhat different statuses & TDYs, so I'd understand if you couldn't quite nail down my inquiry. Thanks anyway for your your recruitment & retention. Yours was long, varied & distinguished! I know my question was dated & complex given the changes from my service 1991-1997 (+1997-1999 as IRR).
May I ask. As a reverse. If you get a family plan through Tricare.
That’s going your entire check?
Hello,
I’d like to join the Air Force Reserve as a part-time while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in NYC. I am planning on attending a graduate school outside of New York and a second master’s from England. My question is can I go away from reserve to attend grad schools only after serving for a year after joining?
Thank you!
Consider the IMA program...they had a few openings in England depending on your AFSC.
Can AF reservist do UTA drill at an Air Guard base? Looking to enlist reserve in Puerto Rico. But there's an army base and a Air National guard base. No air force bases... any help?
I have a buddy who is reserve in Puerto Rico. Keep an eye out I’ll be doing a video on that
I highly recommend the ANG base service!
What happen to the banquet
After i serve my 6 yr contract of reserve/national guard, will i able to still use their health insurance?
Discounted but still a really good price compared to civilians pay
What if I already have a bachelors, have college debt under my name and under my parents name?
Update
So being married will bump up my pay significantly? Would it be sketch if I get married through court right before joining? My girlfriend and I have a baby and she has her son but only our baby is reported as my dependent.
I’m getting married before joining and my husband and a child would count as two dependents. You will receive pay to support them, also including separation pay! :)
Don't do it men, domt get marry for the benefit
He looks like a younger Eddie Murphy
I’m doing the palace chase thing to go reserves to get out of security forces full time
Yea I’m looking into Palace chase as well and cross train into a job I want
Bruhhh same!
Hey man. I really want to join but my girlfriend is 8 weeks pregnant. I want to get BMT over with and graduate before the baby is due. Is this possible? Am I allowed to join with a kid coming?
You’d have to talk to your local recruiter. Depending on what jobs you’re interested in can determine how fast you can go to BMT.
Yes
How’s the baby?
Why’d you start laughing at his wife’s insurance cost ? 😂
Cuz civilians pay an insane amount for healthcare. It’s unreal honestly haha. I find it funny and it was coming out of our bank account 😂
I recently joined the reserve waiting for bmt. Can my spouse be excused from her job so she can take care of our kids. And will she have her job back after I graduate from bmt and tech School? Please advice.
Thats all dependent on the job that has nothing to do with the military.
Like an LOA, can do PTO other forms from the employer if they are nice enough
Can I join while a divorce process ? We no kids and no joint bank account together. Just waiting til it’s confirm since all divorce take 6 month til an year.
Yes you can
What about travel?
I was wondering this too!
I am 26, married with 2 kids. Musical background, I produce beats and bass is my life. I have wanted to join the service for SO LONG. I live right near NELLIS AFB in Las Vegas. Any suggestions? ..
@@officialrivv Haha . It also has enough war hungry people.
Do you get paid for dependents?
9 times out of 10 yes
The pay is for ART OR AGR isn’t the straight pay for the reserve only 250
$250 a week? or month?
Who y’all
🎉😂
My biggest thing about the military and joining is that I don’t want to deploy which is why i like the reserves Bc I don’t deploy roghr
Reserves can deploy
Why join if you don't wanna serve your country. Grow a pair.
I been in the reserves for 2 years and seen some people get deployed involuntary. What I was told is the active duty gets deployed first than second is reserves, and last is the guard. Anyone is expected to deployed at least 1 time out of their first 6yr contract what the reserve recruiters will say.
Reservist do deploy
@@sparescratch1623 it’s not desired to deploy anyone out of tech school it’s rare hearing that
