I´m a Manson fan since 1999, in the era of Mechanical Animals. After all the s**t he received the last years and the media boycott against this album, it's great that you upload this content. Thank you very much, it is appreciated. 🤘
13:20 Disagree about Nod if you understand being a better opener. It would have made it a rock album, but where One Assassination Under God starts is perfect perfect building, it's the opening titles to the movie, and lays out the story of the start of the movie. It's his best opener I'd say. Irresponsible Hate Anthem is the perfect industrial/metal album opener, Great Big White World is the perfect glam rock opener, but One Assassination Under God is the perfect movie opener, which has this sit above the rest. It goes beyond being an album, it because a film. I find the album more powerful than holywood, and stands next to mechanical animals
I love this album because he sounds absolutely rejuvenated. I enjoy tracks from every album after Holy Wood, but I don't think any album was awesome until now. I can thoroughly enjoy this album from start to finish and it's been a while since I've been able to do that with one of his albums.
Great discussion! I too feel that the tracklist may unfold in reverse order. Or at the least, "Sacrifice Of The Mass" taking place right before "One Assassination Under God". The latter has him declaring that he's "NOT A SACRIFICE" toward the end. If we follow this order then "Raise The Red Flag" is the true closing number & it hints toward a more kickass second chapter. But if we follow the tracklist in reverse idea then the title track is the ending of the first chapter. If that's the case then I expect chapter two to open with a Reprise or a second part to the title track.
Wow! Really shocked this didn't get Two Toe Tags. Every song is amazing. His vocals and lyrics are so strong. I absolutely love this album, and like I said on the last video, this is my Album of the Year. The videos he put with this just intensifies the emotion he puts into every note. This album is a 10 for me.
This is honestly his best album since Pale Emperor… I feel like the lead single & the title track (OAUG) & Raise The Red Flag are 3 of the best Manson songs in a while …. Don’t understand ppl criticizing the length or it feeling short… it literally says PART 1 in the title of the album. It’s meant to be the first half of the album. The second half will probably be 8-10 tracks as well. This when it’s done, it will be a complete 18 track album or whatever
This is the first manson album in a while where when I play the first song I end up listening to the entire album. I sincerely appreciate Mansons recent albums where a few songs really hit, but couldn't listen to the entire album from start to finish.
First time viewer of this channel . I had to comment I totally loved that Coma Gray comment ❤ there weren't many reviews on this album that I could really find. This one being the best one I found and thankfully not talking about a bunch of other stuff unrelated to it.
This album is a grower. Same thing is happening to me where the more I listen, the better the songs get - but not just a little bit but almost exponentially. It's weird
I love all his albums!! He has something for every mood so my favorites rotate frequently 😅 but they're all just so different, while still managing to maintain that style of his. This one in particular brought tears to my eyes, and that might be because I've been following his situation the last few years, but it yanked so many emotions out of me! Ultimately, it gets a 10/10 from me 🤘🏼🤘🏼
It's good, could've used another heavy track or two to balance it out in my opinion. Cutting Front Toward Enemy was a mistake, that song is a total banger. That said, I still quite enjoyed the album, it's good stuff overall.
We Are Chaos artistically marked a growth for Manson as a person and his music reflected it. Upon release i didn't get the album at all, but after a week with it i can't get enough of it. Theres for sure callbacks to earlier works is for sure intentional. I got shades of Born Villain and highlights of the big three.
I am one that think this is the best album since Holywood. I could never get into any of those albums from 2007 until We Are Chaos. I actually really liked We are Chaos, at least a few of those songs were the best he had in a long long time imo. This is just a great album overall and I’ve been listening to it a ton.
I love how goth rock/post punk this album is, besides the few more aggressive songs. I love every album, never been let down by any of them, been a fan since like 1998/1999 and saw Manson 17 times and yeah, this is the best album since Holy Wood- but Pale Emperor was the last album that was best since Holy Wood before this one. We Are Chaos was very good, but I get what you mean by "tired". I just dig all the piano and there's a few really awesome songs on there. Did you guys hear Front Toward Enemy? The B side from Raise the Red Flag single? It's like Little Horn's cousin.
For me this album was a solid 7 or 8. At first I would of preferred heavier songs like raise the red flag but as I listened to it more I came to appreciate the album more. Regardless of what everyone thinks about the album though I think we can all agree we are glad he was able to overcome what has happened and come out with an album that says I'm back
This is a masterpiece it reminds me of mechanical animals. And how he did in his first three albums were godlike 10/10 it my number two of my top ten my number one was Judas Priest invincible shield my number three was Nightwish Yesterwynde mason out did himself again can’t wait to see if he does chapter 2
I wonder if this was on purpose, to end at 9. It's a very odd way to end an album. But he also had Front Toward Enemy, a song not on this album, on a limited release in August.
@@randomyoutubeperson3577 Indeed, I enjoyed Front Toward Enemy, though I do not think it would have suited the record, especially with lyrics in Sacrifice of the Mass.
For me by now this album still didnt grow on me, maybe with more listens BUT i am very happy a lot of people like it, Manson is one of my fav musicians and wish him all the very best! also totally agree that Manson have a lot of great albums besides the Tryptich like The Golden Age Of Grotesque, Born Villain, The Pale Emperor and Heaven Upside Down...
@@alejandromolina2435 I agree, people are too fast to jump to conclusions, stating this is the bet since Holy Wood. A lot of people said the same about WAC, and visiting it nowadays, it's definitely their weakest imo. Still need more listens, but it's enjoyable for sure
There isn’t an album of Manson’s I dislike. Some better than others. Since Holy wood, golden age and heaven upside down are still my faves. One Assassination is still a very solid album and gives me tons of promise for this band with this lineup.
I haven't bought a Manson album since Holy Wood. I bought the Target exclusive CD along with their vinyl. Planning on getting the longbox for the wife for Christmas. According to statsfm, I have 401 minutes with this album, 9 total fullalbum playthrus and my top tracks are Death is Not a Costume, the title track and As Sick As The Secrets Within. I think Sacrilegious is kinda corny but the rest of the album is all killer, no filler. A true return to form.
100% agree with this. I do not love sacrilegious. It sounds a bit to poppy to me and the lyrics don't necessarily make me feel anything special. But i do think it's a 10/10
Every song is strong af and just can’t wait for chapter 2, also don’t forget the Mr Superstar reference on the ending of Sacrilegious. Indeed NOW we can actually say it’s his best work sience Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death)
Great album. I lost all interest in him after Holywood for the most part but this feels like it could’ve come right after Holywood and would’ve actually kept my attention. Highlights: As Sick As The Secrets Within, Death Is Not A Costume, Sacrifice Of The Mask.
One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1 tierlist: 9° - Sacrilegious 8° - Nod If You Understand 7° - As Sick as the Secrets Within 6° - No Funeral Without Applause 5° - Meet Me in Purgatory 4° - One Assassination Under God 3° - Sacrifice of the Mass 2° - Death Is Not a Costume 1° - Raise the Red Flag
8 / 10. If this album had been released right after Holy Wood... the triptych could have easily become a quadriptych. I've been listening to the band since '98 and OUAG is at least at the level of The Golden Age if not more.
Great album. I lost all interest in him after Holywood for the most part but this feels like it could’ve come right after Holywood and would’ve actually kept my attention.

I never said that Born Villain is their worst album.Heaven Upside Down, THEOL and EMDM are their worst album, this new album is just a good album and it could have been better
Even though I don't agree with Manson dropping the defamation lawsuit I can't deny that this album is yet another album well done. I will never deny Manson his credit when it comes to creating this type of music because he's a genius at it.
Mansons new album is a masterpiece. Must listen to it for some time.
Looking forward to the next chapter.
I actually really enjoy this new Manson album also can't wait for part 2

Lost interest in Manson over the last years and stumbled across this release pretty randomly and luckily so: It's an absolutely FANTASTIC album!

I'm one of those that prefers modern Manson to the triptych. I think this album is a good combination of the two.
