Anthrax were ok at best. Def the least talented of the big 4 IMO. I just could never get into them. The sound of White Noise is my favorite album from them.
Absolutely!!!! I was a freshman in highschool when Sound Of White Noise came out. At first I was mad that Anthrax got rid of Joey Belladonna, but I did not know at first that John Bush was his replacement. When I first listened to the first video Only I loved it immediately. I was already an Armored Saint fan and I knew that John Bush was a phenomenal lead singer. I remember watching this very performance on MTV when I used to watch The Jon Stewart Show. I remember Mike Judge was the guest of this episode and Jon Stewart asked Mike Judge what would old man Anderson think of Anthrax and then he said that it was all a bunch of noise to him in old man Anderson's voice. Hilarious.
John Katsoudas Right on man I graduated in 95 summer of 93 have some killer memories turned my friend on to them with this album we rode around daily blasting this
For me, without question, one of the top 10 metal albums of all time. They came back with Bush and fucking FORCE. Beautiful album, endlessly fun to play on guitar, and endlessly fun to sing
sarajamus I'm pretty sure the rest of the band felt the same way. If you notice, they actually look happy and thoroughly enjoying the fuck out of the moment :-) I can't say I get the same vibe from them when they perform with Joey.
Unreal. I can never recall anyone nail the vocals as closely live as they arranged it in studio, other than him, with both Anthrax and Armored Saint. fucking Legend :-)
As a hip-hop fan in the early nineties I came to Anthrax via Public Enemy. They did a song together in this era of Sound of White Noise so this was the first metal album I purchased. I was very impressed with the musicianship and the depth of the lyrics. Packed Rebellion was my "ish". Hy Pro Glo was my second favorite and Only Room For One More round out my top three tracks from this record. Made me know metal was more than just long hair and thrashing but music-less guitar riffs for suburban kids to let off some steam. The angst, the anger and the frustrations with posers was real and I identified with it.
Brings back a ton of memories of that time period. You know, in the beginning I had a hard time accepting the John Bush fronted Anthrax, but after living with Sound of White Noise for a few months, I finally got it. I bought the cassette roughly 2 days after it came out, back in May of 1993. Popped it the deck in my truck, and then didn't listen to it again until maybe November of that same year. At that point, starting in November, I listened to it every single day through the end of the year, going into 1994. I remember thinking to myself after hundreds of plays, aha, now I get it... 😂. SOWN is still to this day one of my favorite Anthrax albums, and one of my favorite albums from 1993.
I remember watching this episode of The Jon Stewart Show back when it originally aired on MTV. Mike Judge was the guest and Jon Stewart asked Mike Judge what would old man Anderson think of Anthrax. Then Mike Judge in old man Anderson's voice said that it was all a bunch of noise to him. Also right after Anthrax was done with this song they played Got The Time also , but the episode ended about a minute after it started. I was a freshman in highschool when this episode aired on MTV and it brought back many great memories big time. Thank you so much for posting this video.
Incredible album "Sound of white noise" 1993 but by 1995 the bottom fell out lead guitar player Danny Spitz left then thay got dropped by there record label too.
A good verse for women today. "You've got a hole inside that you have to feed. You've got a hole you use to get what you need." Man, if this verse doesn't speak the truth. I think this is Anthrax's best album.
Jon Bush is who Metallica wanted and considered for vocalist in the early days and that was probably why Anthrax hired him. When I was 14 I was head banging like a maniac at Cliff Burton’s feet as he poured his beer on me and I saw Jon Bush backstage laughing and smiling at me at he gave a nice hello. Armored Saint had opened for them for their first album.

criminally underrated album. I have never gotten tired of it.
Bo doubt. Never. It’s perfection. James Hetfield himself even said the song ONLY is perfect
Rightfully*
It´s one of my faves ever.
It is one of my 10 all time favourites. Begining to end... I just love it!
I stole it from my dad 😂 it's one of the best albums I have ever listened to
I really liked John Bush's vocals with Anthrax. Brings back a lot of memories.
Why? They sound nothing like thrash. It's more grunge. Terrible.

Frank's Bass!! sounds great!!
The Bush era of Anthrax was awesome.
Anthrax were ok at best. Def the least talented of the big 4 IMO. I just could never get into them. The sound of White Noise is my favorite album from them.
John Bush was bad ass for Anthrax sound of white noise was killer never forget that album it reminds me of High School days
Byron A. Wilson Indeed a great, great album
I totally agree with you! John Bush made them so heavy! I really liked him in Anthrax. I like Joey too.

John Bush's vocals are pure 🔥🔥🔥
The Bush era is gravely under appreciated
Cheers to that
Bush’s voice so on fire my brain melted!!
sarajamus I'm pretty sure the rest of the band felt the same way. If you notice, they actually look happy and thoroughly enjoying the fuck out of the moment :-) I can't say I get the same vibe from them when they perform with Joey.
Their best vocalist and their best album in my opinion!
100%
Without question.

What a terrible opinion to have.
@@megas13proto And I'm somehow supposed to care what you think? 🤡
My favorite era of Anthrax…
Unreal. I can never recall anyone nail the vocals as closely live as they arranged it in studio, other than him, with both Anthrax and Armored Saint. fucking Legend :-)
Increíble versión en vivo. La era de Anthrax con Jhon Bush es genial.
You said it bro. John Bush is the ultimate Anthrax singer.

A good verse for women today. "You've got a hole inside that you have to feed. You've got a hole you use to get what you need." Man, if this verse doesn't speak the truth. I think this is Anthrax's best album.

I love "classic" Anthrax with Joey Belladonna. But don't tell me John Bush and this album aren't utterly fantastic.
Was Anthrax better with John or Joey?

Anthrax was better with Dan Spitz, period.

Beast of a band! John Bush is the real thing!
For me, Anthrax was never better than during the John Bush years.
That Surfcaster tho...
Por algo fue una voz muy famosa en la bay area. Ademas Armored Saint ayudo tanto a Anthrax como ah Metallica
John Bush has a nice voice, but I always preferred Joey. Anthrax with John was a different band.
I realize this is 25 years ago, but who is the kid right at the beginning? Looks familiar
joe strummer, ese es Gustavo Cerati , vocalista de soda stereo
Gustavo Cerati?! Lol!!...that's Alfredo Lewin, a chilean VJ who used to work in MTV Latinoamérica during the 90s.
Sorry, not sorry. Every time I watch this, I am blown away.
Thanks, respect, X1 million !
solo 782 !!! que carajo le pasa a la gente???
I wish this remained the members of Anthrax. No offense to Joey who’s awesome. I just love JB’s voice
