I’m not sure if I’m really happy about them being buddies, mostly because Paul and Morgan support awful ideas regarding the LGBTQIA community and purity culture. I could understand Jaclyn being polite and “friendly” to work together to push back harmful ideals but I couldn’t be friends with people who have such backwards ideas on such important topics that affect people’s lives, their safety, their mere right to exist. I would “agree to disagree” and not be friends with that person. Certain areas of “beliefs” just can’t be compromised and the fact that Jaclyn who is an ally to the LGBTQIA community, can be friends with people P&M rubs me the wrong way. Edit: I think i placed why this makes me uncomfortable. They all keep mentioning how belief systems shouldn’t be forced on others but that’s exactly what Paul and Morgan’s content is. It’s them passive aggressively saying “it’s our way or you’re going to hell, we need to fix all the sinners”. They are judgmental and disrespectful to others. But this video makes it seem like Jaclyn is defending that. And Jaclyn has called them out on it in the past but now suddenly because they’re friendly it’s like she’s forgotten P&M’s stances on serious topics. It’s pushing the narrative that you need to be friendly with people who are rude and whose beliefs are hurtful! You can be respectful and polite, you can expand your bubble to learn other people’s positions or opinions but you do not need to be friends with people you disagree with on basic human rights.
You're right that you don't NEED to be friends with people that are fundamentally different. But sometimes that leads to people seeing the error of their ways. It's happened for me and a lot of other people who grew up in my conservative Christian community. We weren't bad people, we were just brainwashed and painfully ignorant

My main issue is that Jaclyn is insisting that we surround ourselves with people like P&M and even calls them friends when they have many harmful ideals. I wouldn't have a problem with her talking with them, having open and deep discussions with them, but this video it really comes across as "I know they've done bad things and push harm but I can ignore that and so can you!". I dont want her to give them her platform so easily. If that makes sense! I think there's room for anyone to change and grow out of ideas and I continue to pray that P&M are able to see at least some of the harm they can cause with their messages
What about abortion? Should you be friends with someone who doesn't agree with allowing people to have the most basic human right: the right to live? Paul and Morgan are actively outspoken about that so that's something to talk about when we talk about basic human rights. The most basic human right is the right to life, without the danger of being killed. More specifically, torn apart from limb to limb when they can feel pain or injected with dijoxin to induce a heart attack. When we're talking about basic human rights. Why would you be against Paul and Morgan when they are actively outspoken about such human horrors when so many aren't?
i’m not a huge fan of jaclyn insisting on being friends with people with opposing views and in the past not judging others for doing the same despite how harmful that can be for people. like she’s really good friends with blaire white…but i also think them having an open conversation about their opposing views is great and i hope jaclyn can have some positive effect on morgan

I was going to comment the same thing. Trying to have a somewhat open conversation with people on the alt right is fine, but being their best friend just doesn't sit right with me... I used to like Jaclyn, but I did my research and found that she used to be incredibly transphobic and nb-phobic (like her bestie Blaire), and has only offered somewhat half-hearted apologies throughout the years
I think that last sentence of that comment you shared "The only difference here is that these relationships are public and we get to comment on them," is really the key part in this discussion. Because yes, being willing to make friends with someone with bigoted beliefs is a complex issue and so I won't fault JG for being willing to make friends with P&M on the assumption that she is still calling them out for any bigoted statements/actions in a similar way to how anyone would call a friend out when they were doing something they shouldn't. However, I do take issue with her sharing her platform with them in this way. She's promoting them to her audience and validating their beliefs as being reasonable opinions that she just personally disagrees with. If she wants to be friends with them, fine, but she shouldn't be doing collabs and such on any of her public platforms unless and until they stop promoting harmful things on theirs.
I think Jaclyn wanting to be friends with them is a recipe for disaster. Others in these comments have listed so many reasons why this is not necessarily a positive thing (the privilege JG has to be able to do this, past accusations/theories JG made towards Paul, the disrespect to the LGBTQ+ community). Last time she tried to help someone in a sensitive living situation (Eugenia Cooney), while there WAS short term improvement, long term it was all for nothing and caused more harm than good- resulting in hundreds of people villainizing EC for her condition when she tried to take attention away from her mom while EC becomes even more isolated and alone. Similar very well can happen with JG trying to stick her nose into their business and get close to Morgan and Paul with the intentions of convincing Morgan she should leave paul. It'll result in them calling JG a liar, calculating, manipulative, and for all intents and purposes, they would be very right if this is JG's plan- which I also can't think of any other reason as to why JG would want to get involved with these people who's whole belief system involves disrespecting other peoples beliefs if they don't follow their morals and ethics to a T. They stand for everything JG has made their channel against and it's very hypocritical if she's just throwing it to the wind willy nilly.

I'm a bit confused about their collaboration, to be honest. Not because of their different beliefs, but because of concerns Jaclyn talked about in some of her videos, that Morgan seems to behave like someone in an abusive relationship. All I know of David is that he’s a singer. I found him back in 2013 or so, he’s super talented. And beyond that, I don’t know much but he does seem super genuine and kind

It’s so much easier to donate with a superchat or even a link tree. Unfortunately I’m a boomer in a bad millennial disguise 😅. I’m so proud of your community & I think it would be amazing to keep this going every 6 months or something. I’m a mod on a channel where the panel has very different political beliefs than I do & we’re friends, we absolutely love each other. No one is silenced but also no one is hateful. We have debates & arguments but never fights. The chat for that channel & subsequently many of the other mods are a pretty even split between “Left” & “Right” (we’re not all American). Their friendship makes me like Paul & Morgan a lot more
This is a good idea! The next time I do collections for an organization I’ll definitely do a long stream or two where any superchats will be donated for anyone who prefers to participate that way 😊 and it’s awesome to hear that! I love when people who have vastly differing opinions can be together, disagree, debate, and still be respectful and kind to each other. That’s a very rare sight these days!

Jordan Lee Peterson s tactic of repeatedly asking questions is a way to put the other side on the defense and to get them emotional so they're more likely to try and defend themselves rather than stop him in his tracks and call him out on that. Source: my dad argues like Peterson (and holds the same values) so I leaned how to handle people like that. The best way is to just keep repeating the same answer until he gets annoyed.
