    Would be very interesting to know the sognal chain and how you go about routing them all.
    Thanks :)

    Akai AX80 cost to much to make so they had to stop production (Blue LED's very. expensive at the time). There was going to be a FX unit the same shape as they thought having a built in chorus would become boring.(like juno).

      Owning your shortcomings & not getting defensive is a good look :]
      ...& also the first step to improving.
      What camera are you using? Try manually focusing if you can. Otherwise set your focus to infinity.

      It was annoying sometimes when it went blur at the parts I really wanted to see but I still enjoyed the tour on a whole and obviously you aren't professional video makers but you had a go for which I am grateful. Love the gear that you have here. I don't feel too bad about my own when I see others who have more than me and have been collecting seriously for longer. Thank you for giving us all an insight into your studio

    I was already impressed as hell ... and then you pulled out the Casio digital guitar and my mind officially blew out the back of my skull. Amazing collection, I'm also curious about the general technical "boring stuff" like how how it's all routed, if you're using a MOTU interface / patchbay or something more modern (or judging from your collection, something much older?) Also the mounting racks, which is as boring as it gets but I'm in the market for a quad tier rack so yeah, do you happen to know the brand or are they all homemade / frankensteined?
    Regarding the video: the focusing problem was *really* hard to endure but I see you've already responded to that complaint a few times. But by contrast, those clips of (presumably your own band's?) music videos looked very well made and interesting. What are you guys called and are the full videos here on the Tube?

    • @synthparty6804
      @synthparty6804  6 лет назад

      I'm glad like the Casio guitar! I do plan to do a vid on how I route everything. As far as the mounting racks I have been buying them on reverb from Fulcrum Woodwork. I can't recommend them enough.Once again sorry about the camera work. We aren't gonna release any more vids until we can solve the focusing problems. And my band is called New Shack and we have a lot of videos on youtube! Thanks for your thoughtful comments!

    I MIGHT take the prophet 5 (or I would if I didn't have a Prophet REV2.) you can have the rest of that shit. 8:00 I actually found one of those (it was the Siel version) new/old stock in the late 90s along with a PG200, PG800 and PG1000 synth programmers, all new in the box at a local music store. I sold the PG200s (I think there were 2) and the PG800 since I didn't have the synths. I kept the PG1000 and bought a D50 to go with it but sold the set shortly there after. getting back to the Siel....as I recall, I don't think it had MIDI, and you had to have the keyboard version of it, along with a special connector cord to use it. so I ended up selling it. I also briefly had a Siel DK600 which would freeze up regularly. Siel was probably the absolute worst quality synth ever made - even worse than Ensoniq. Siel was actually Italian for "feces" believe it or not.

    Hi m8, jealous. Just got back into hardware synths. I have mininova atm,
    with blue sky reverb, and fousrite. I have 800 euro to spend. I am into
    ambient, deep house, jarre, 80's synth pop and boards. What would you
    recommend as upgrade. I have synth xp (1986 dx7-207 ish) Digital and
    analogue both sides mono/poly. What would you recommend?

    • @synthparty6804
      @synthparty6804  7 лет назад

      Thats a great question. I always recommend the Juno 106 to people who are wanting a great overall synth. I've found the 106 to be pretty diverse. It can be punchy for bass and house stuff and can also be lush and full especially if you are running it through your blue sky. The akai AX60 is one of my favorite polys and has some amazing sounds that come from it. I did a video on it if you wanna check it out.

    • @demosthenesb6240
      @demosthenesb6240 7 лет назад

      Dm12 an option as modern 106 in your opinion?

    • @synthparty6804
      @synthparty6804  7 лет назад

      Its definitely a modern option. I haven't tried it myself but have watched some vids on it and it looks very capable. I lean much heavier towards vintage gear so I'm probably not the best to ask about newer synths.

      If you sell all your synths - apart from the CS30 (don't even think about selling that) - then you can buy an OBX! I too am a big admirer of the MS10. I like a lot of the simple, single oscillator, mono synths, like the Roland SH-1, ARP Axxe and the incomprehensibly overlooked Yamaha CS5/10. You know you really ought to have an Octave Cat (preferably the fully discrete MKI) in your collection, don't you?! Oh, and by the way, I wouldn't swap the SH-2 I don't yet have, for both yours and Robert's SH-101s!

    It's a pity that RUclips didn't exist at the time (80's) I owned my 'vintage' synth stuffed studio. It would have been the ultimate wet dream for all the young guys out there who get (mistakenly) lyrical about all the analogs and vintage synths. Beside collectors value, there is no reason to believe that these things sound 'better' as so many out there claim. Nowadays, we are perfect able to reproduce the 'analog' sound with VST's and other remakes, or even digital synths. Everybody claiming that they hear the difference, please get a life and stop making an idiot of yourself. At this time, there are enough blind tests that proof the opposite. And if your ARP 2600 grey face gets broken, you'll talk different when you discover it simply can't be repaired...
