Krusty started off as homers appearance but they decided they wanted homer to look like it and instead of remaking krusty all together, they just put green hair on him
Originally, Krusty was going to be Homer in disguise. The irony being that Bart idolized Krusty but had no respect for Homer. Eventually, considering that the plot was a little too complicated to pull off, it was decided that they be two different characters.
@@spartangoku7610 complicated as well as outlandish, considering The Simpsons was supposed to be just a dark caricature of the sitcom dynamic. However I could totally see modern Simpsons writers trying to pull it off, given that the show has long since veered into Family Guy craziness
A lot of the comments on here claim that 'Krusty' is Homer using his Homie the Clown disguise. Even though it's been debunked by show staff as an animation mistake, in my opinion the theory doesn't hold up anyway. Krusty had been on holiday in Reno for six weeks prior to Burns' shooting. He therefore had no valid motive for shooting Burns (assuming everybody who might have shot Burns would have done so as a personal vendetta, not acting on someone else's behalf, which the events of the episode suggest to be the case). Also, if Homer had shot Mr Burns while disguised as Krusty, Krusty would have been arrested and taken in for questioning, at which point he would have claimed that somebody had shot Burns dressed as him. Assuming the police explored this angle, that would lead them to question who might have done this, and why disguise themselves as Krusty specifically. We know Sideshow Bob had done it before, but he would have been ruled out on account of his being in prison when this episode took place. Besides, nobody in Springfield (that we know of) had any reason to frame Krusty for Burns' shooting, so logic suggests that the disguise would have been chosen out of convenience. Focus would therefore switch to who in Springfield has access to the wigs, makeup and clothes that Krusty wears and could pull it off convincingly enough to pass as him. This would lead police to everybody who enrolled at Krusty's clown college in Homie the Clown, earlier in the season. In that episode, however, Krusty states that "there can only be one Krusty in each territory". This suggests that of all the people at the college, only one of them - Homer - would have lived in Springfield, known Mr Burns and had any motive for shooting him. All the signs would have therefore pointed back to him and his disguise would have been worth nothing. P.S. I know that my theory assumes A LOT of brainpower on behalf of Springfield's police department, which is far from a safe bet. P.P.S. Now I'm writing this, I actually wonder if they wrote the Krusty Reno bit because they connected the dots early and knew fans would speculate that it might have been Homer in disguise, so they wanted to rule it out.
1:41 That's not Krusty, it's Homer wearing his Krusty makeup. He's taking inspiration from Sideshow Bob when Bob tried to frame Krusty by robbing Apu. Homer took his clown college knowledge to dress up like Krusty and shoot Mr. Burns in disguise. Look at the nose it's shaped like Homer's and not Krusty's.
W.S. Harvey but the sundial dosent match with crusty and homers name and in the second part they reveal it was maggie as there is more clues to maggie then homer
@@djskillx7008 What I was getting at was Homer was about to "attempt" to shoot Mr. Burns. He got ready by disguising himself as Krusty but then the incident with Maggie and Mr. Burns happened so Homer (dressed like Krusty) wasn't able to shoot Burns.
Look closely 1:40 that's clearly not Krusty, it's Homer wearing Krusty makeup. The nose is the big give away. Was Homer on his way to kill Burns, stealing Sideshow Bob's plan from when framed Krusty for armed robbery? Did Maggie simply beat him to it?
I think Homer was going to do something with Mr. Burns. Probably not kill him but injuries him severely. I don't see it within Homer for wishing to put Bart through the pain of losing his childhood idle because he still cares about him despite how much the boy annoys him. However, he would have likely beaten Mr. Burns up and assure that he is able to make a clear getaway with the Krusty's makeup.
1:41 people have pointed this out before if you didn't know that isn't Krusty the Clown standing behind Ned that's actually Homer Simpson look at the nose and crusty has bags under his eyes which Homer Simpson doesn't doesn't
Possible clues: 1:20 - Turning the screen reveals Burns' hands pointing to S and M, which means Maggie was the shooter Sideshow Mel dictates that the show _Pardon My Zinger_ aired at 3:00PM at Comedy Central. Burns was possibly shot at 3:00PM. Mel saw Smithers on TV, heard him quoting the Madonna line and realized that the line was from the _Pardon My Zinger_ episode that was being aired at the exact time that Mr. Burns was shot. Smithers was probally at home watching _Pardon My Zinger_ at 3:00PM, that's why Mel knew that Burns was shot. A Simpson eyelash (according to a DNA test) appears in the hospital, implying Maggie shot Burnsg
Late, but also: -Burns recognices the person who shot him, during the episodes he remembered the name of all of the Simpson, except Homer -He was struggleing with the scooter, due to Burns weakness, the scooter should be ab elderly person or a baby -Burns was at the parking (behind the building, the only ones that w there there were Santa's little helper and Maggie)
I only now realized that the people who pointed out that two of the potential suspects left something behind are people that would be familiar with the suspects professionally.
Wait I thought it was Mr smithers who shot Mr burns as there was a reveal when Mr burns was struggling with the baby Mr smithers came from behind drunk and angry and shot him
It was the alternative ending, as shown in the Springfield 138th episode spectacular. It's just, as Troy McClure pointed out, if they did that ending, you'd have to ignore the Simpson DNA evidence

Krusty started off as homers appearance but they decided they wanted homer to look like it and instead of remaking krusty all together, they just put green hair on him
*H* *O* *M* *E* *R*
Originally, Krusty was going to be Homer in disguise.
The irony being that Bart idolized Krusty but had no respect for Homer.
Eventually, considering that the plot was a little too complicated to pull off, it was decided that they be two different characters.
@@spartangoku7610 complicated as well as outlandish, considering The Simpsons was supposed to be just a dark caricature of the sitcom dynamic. However I could totally see modern Simpsons writers trying to pull it off, given that the show has long since veered into Family Guy craziness

Not gonna lie, the set up of the shooting and who is potentially guilty is fucking great
A lot of the comments on here claim that 'Krusty' is Homer using his Homie the Clown disguise.
W.S. Harvey ye seeing that now it seems homer was gonna attack burns if maggie didnt first
@@w.s.harvey9274 Was Homer going to actually shoot him though? Or, was he going to strangle Mr. Burns?
@@Joe_Parmesan How IDK. He didn't have a gun so probably strangling.

It was not an accident

I love the implication at the ending close up that Maggie shooting Mr Burns wasn't an accident
I’m glad she’s doing good
2:39 "D'OOOOOH!!!!"
Can't ever remember Homer's name but knows his daugther's name by heart even though he's never officially met Maggie Simspon.
The Bobo episode was before this, so they really knew each other.
Mr Burns and Smithers recognized and acknowledged Maggie earlier in the episode, when they ate chocolates sent by the Simpson family
When they first aired this and they pointed at the camera I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe lmao
Is that bit really THAT funny?
Anyone want or know about an edit that removes Burns narration and plays out with showing Maggie doing it without the cuts to the hospital?
It's extremely disturbing that she lured him to her with her smile. Then again, he had it coming.
This and king of the hill when Mega-low Mart blew up and Buckley died were the best cliffhangers
"STOP! DON'T SHOOT MY DAD! HE'S INNOCENT! He wouldn't hurt a fly"?

Are you sure about that, Lisa?
In retrospect it's kind of messed up that Marge left Maggie alone in the car.
1:04 "Where is everybody?" (BANG!)
1:41 people have pointed this out before if you didn't know that isn't Krusty the Clown standing behind Ned that's actually Homer Simpson look at the nose and crusty has bags under his eyes which Homer Simpson doesn't doesn't

Seriously, Maggie Deserves a World Peace Award.
1:47 My favourite moment!
Brilliant writing
So sad to see the decay of this once great sitcom
It was perfect for that time and the writers were far more intelligent, or at least didn't dumb down their material

One of the darkest mysteries in tv at that time.
Possible clues:
1:20 - Turning the screen reveals Burns' hands pointing to S and M, which means Maggie was the shooter
Sideshow Mel dictates that the show _Pardon My Zinger_ aired at 3:00PM at Comedy Central.
Late, but also:
-Burns recognices the person who shot him, during the episodes he remembered the name of all of the Simpson, except Homer
-He was struggleing with the scooter, due to Burns weakness, the scooter should be ab elderly person or a baby
-Burns was at the parking (behind the building, the only ones that w
there there were Santa's little helper and Maggie)
That's odd! I didn't think people still remember this episode? Freaking awesome my guy
I only now realized that the people who pointed out that two of the potential suspects left something behind are people that would be familiar with the suspects professionally.
So interesting that Krusty LOOKS LIKE homer simpson dressed up as Krusty! LMAO...
I like how they stopped at Maggie then zoomed in on her. Were they trying to make us suspect it to be Marge for a couple of seconds?
1:25 "This isn't Mr Burns at all. It's a mask!" 🤣🤣 Could you imagine if it really was a mask and it was Hans Moleman or Nelson underneath?

Wait I thought it was Mr smithers who shot Mr burns as there was a reveal when Mr burns was struggling with the baby Mr smithers came from behind drunk and angry and shot him
It was the alternative ending, as shown in the Springfield 138th episode spectacular. It's just, as Troy McClure pointed out, if they did that ending, you'd have to ignore the Simpson DNA evidence
"no jury in the world is going to convict a baby"
"mmmm... maybe texas"
pretty much lol
Why did the people want to arrest the shooter? They wanted Mr Burns to die after that butterfly effect he created with the oil.
Love it how Lisa comes with a connection that gets instantly dismissed and is unconnected 😄

Not only she can’t be persecuted because she is a baby. But also because burns was committing a crime when he got shot.
