I am a HUGE advocate for trail running! Replacing a run or two with trails has great benefits: less impact on your joints, potential cute wildlife sightings, and a totally different kind of pace. Trail runs encourage you to be really mindful-- walk the steep hills, run the downs, jog everything else. It helps build muscle for flat road runs!

@@hannaukim I would start with whatever sneakers you have. Then if you like it, there are a bunch of different types :) Your local running store can help you find one that works for you-- some people I know prefer really wide or really cushiony or super flat, so it really depends!

RUclips recommended this video to me, and I enjoyed hearing about your running journey. I used to hate running too and struggle to stay consistent with training, but over the last few months I've found a great group of people to run with, which has helped me stay on track and make progress. As a result, I've fallen in love with running, and I'll be doing a half marathon next Saturday. I'm super excited, but also a bit nervous!
I don't use an Apple Watch personally, but I've heard that one potential cause of GPS issues for them is that unlike most fitness watches, they don't indicate when a GPS lock is acquired before starting an activity, so your GPS can be highly inaccurate for the first few minutes. I think you can fix this by opening the Maps app and waiting until it shows your GPS location accurately, and then quickly switching to your preferred running app and starting your run. But again this is all stuff I've heard second hand, so YMMV. Good luck!

ahhh! Literally in your shoes at this very moment! Running my first 10K race this Sunday and I'm super stoked! Definitely feel ya on not getting enough sleep. Super guilty of only getting 5-6 hours every night. 😴
