Hi Greg, it was important to see this, especially for new shooters in an indoor environment.
Thank you for being basic, Always room for improvement everyday.

Another fine video Greg. Thank you for taking the time to make this series of videos, I appreciate how thorough you are ( Arnie Moe never talked about knocking his arrows). I like to spin mine around when I pull it out of the quiver like all of the cool kids do at the Vegas shoot. It is a little embarrassing when I stab myself in the butt with those Zwycki Judo's. But hey, when I stump, I stump alone. See you in the forest Greg man.

Can't wait for the arrow falling off the shelf content.
I've seen videos on it and people seem to have some different ideas on why it happens and ways they counteract it..

May seem very unimportant but I liked your steps for close-quarter nocking. Plus, it looks damn cool.

I was on the receiving end of a field point scratch (not puncture!) of my hand as a right handed shooter went to nock an arrow on the line without considering that he was shooting next to a left handed and shooting archer. The rest of the session he tightened his movements ... a lot. This video would have helped him, and saved me a little bleeding.

First, thank you for your shot cycle series, I'm finally seeing improvements, my question is why is it that the shelf isn't the center of the bow

Thank you for watching. I'm not sure if you mean the location of the shelf height wise on the riser, or how deep it is cut into the riser.
Most bows have the center of the riser, where the web of your hand goes. Could be for feel I guess. As for not being cut to center, it is due to the stress. Some woods can handle it, others cannot.

Thanks for responding, height wise on the riser, I always thought the nock would be at the center of the length of the string, was wondering how this geometry affects hook style (Mediterranean vs 3 under)

Great question. The nock on most bows shot with the fingers and a shelf are not in the center of the string. Might have to do with more pressure on the lower limb.

Hi Greg...good video as usual...shot my first 450 last sunday... very humbeling ...the first thing i noticed was that i couldent nock like i normaly could because of being so tight to everybody else...kind of throws you off...also wondering how do you position your feet in relation to the box? Are you supposed to be in the box or 1 foot in and 1foot in front of line? Seemed like everyone was in the box but have read archery manuals that say to center your stance over the line

Great question. It can and does vary, by location. At the location is was at for the video, you stay in the box with both feet. At another I go to, you would have the lead leg in and the rear foot out (for 20 yards) and rear leg in and lead leg out for 18. At another you have to stand behind the line.

Started to skip this vid but glad I watched. Very important for when you don't have much lateral space.

Just want add to the video that when putting an arrow through the space between the bow and string like Greg did, be sure to be careful! Since there is a chance that the arrow tip will punch a little whit dot out of your bow (riser/limbs, if you have a black fiber glass surface). It is not desirable, and you will see these annoying dots every time you shoot.

I'd love to see a video focusing on the release. I'm inconsistent and looking for advice.

It is in the works. A few more steps first. One big thing I learned is that if you think it is your release, then what really caused it was the move or several moves before it. I know if i do not draw right it affects my release, same with anchor point, etc. So look at what you are doing before it first.

Thanks, I'll check that one out! Currently I am using a glove and don't really care for it being on my hand all the time...maybe just me.

Thanks Greg... wow, If I had to stand that close to the next shooter, I would end up whacking someone in the head with my bow. I'd be the proverbial "bull in a china shop."
