The quilting is wonderful! I'm new and have yet to quilt on my machine. I've made tops so far. I love the last shown with the birds. Thank you for sharing! I hope you are well.

Thank you so much for posting this! You answered all the questions I had after looking at battings at the fabric store. I appreciate the finished project examples, which show the batting properties so well.

Hello! I've watched numerous videos on quilt batting and this video helped me the most. Thank you so much for talking about the washing of the batting because the quilt I'm making will be washed a lot I'm sure and not by a dry cleaner or carefully :)
    Thank you again!

Great information on batting. The quilt shop I go to only sells 20/80 cotton batting, so that is what I have used. Thanks for all the information on the other types of batting. Also, the quilting you did on your home sewing machine is absolutely beautiful! Any chance of seeing a tutorial on how you did this? I would like to try free motion quilting, but the small attempts I’ve made have not been successful. Your teaching is very clear, and so could be very helpful to those of us who would like to try FMQ.

Thank You, this was a very good video, right to the point with the information I was looking for, AND you quilt very nicely as well.
    Beautiful craftsmanship.
I wish I had found this video before listening to yak yak yak on several others only to come away knowing less than I did going in.
    You are precious my dear.

Hi what thickness of the polyester batting do you use, like there are 2”,3”,4”, thicknesses. It would be helpful for your advice on this , thank you.

Hi, I would possibly use a synthetic batting, they often have good bounce if that is what you are looking for.

Well, I have more of a question. After seeing someone else's video on batting I had come to the conclusion that I would start using wool batting. But now that I've watched yours and you talk about the unpredictable shrinking, I think I'll stay away from that. But the next question I have is about the sythetic batting. If the quilt itself is made from cotton, which will shrink a small amount, will the synthetic batting shrink along with it or not? If it doesn't, wouldn't that give you some bunching? Maybe I should just stay with cotton batting?

I have read that wool batting in a complete project can shrink suddenly because too much agitation when washing or drying has caused it to felt. So, it is not necessarily shrinking as it is felting.

Thank you for sharing your insight on different battings. I do have a question about the "little grey monkey" wallhanging....did you use fusible appliqué or sewn turn edge appliqué? The hanging is very cool. Thanks!

Thank you for your tutorials . I am a beginner and watch your videos made me want to keep sewing.
I love the quilt you demonstrated with polyester quilting, the different patches on a black back ground. Would you have the pattern for it? I love quilts with colorful patches.
    Tank you again .

Whilst I have learned a lot from all your patchwork videos, this one was particularly informative. So many other tutorial sites jump from patchwork to binding completely bypassing the quilting aspect. I do hope that you will make more videos on quilting on a domestic sewing machine.
