Hi, new to sewing and quilting..like a month now. I made one quilt it's so thin, I was like wow. Now, when I was a small girl my mother made quilts by hand. I don't think she used batting. But, that darn quilt was hey, yes..so when I quilted mine it was so thin. I said oh no that's no quilt it's a sheet. Wow, seriously just to thin...so I'm glad I found you because I was wondering if I could put two or three batting in my quilt, and would it go through on the foot feed and walking foot. Thanks for any more info you or anyone has. Has anyone ever felt this also?
You're right! Quilting has changed. I rather like the light weight quilts. But if you want a heavier quilt, try wool or buy high-loft. And it's great to add layers.
I like cotton batting. I found it dosnt disappear or move with use. if you want it to be super warm you can use a high loft cotten batting with flannel or fleece inside as well. it will be harder to quilt on a machine so you will have to baste the heck out of it! but it will be super warm and snuggly
Any time I've used the poly batting it starts to disappear after just a few washes. Eventually it's just plain gone and the quilt is flat and empty. Is there a good quality poly batting that actually lasts as opposed to the cheap craft store bags of batting? I'm looking for something that will be very puffy after hand-quilting. What do you suggest?
plz tell me ma'am ..which is better for thin quilting.and what d difference between batting cloth and fusible foam.how can buy.plz suggest me some batting cloth name.like I want thin quite which no us better...
the batting I chose did not say bonded or needle punched so I took a chance being kinda new at this and now that my quilt is done the batting is coming out through the material. It looks terrible. I feel likes its a waste. I cant undo it.
Great to hear what you think of the different products!

I always get batting that has some type of bonding just for that reason. It can be scrim, crosswoven, or punched... It will hold together.
excellent !!
Thank you very informative.
when you said you were going to tell us what those thing meant on the package you didn't say what bonded meant
you spelled and pronounced "Wadding" wrong.
