Cleaning and scrubbing can wait til tomorrow, for babies grow up we've learned to our sorrow, so quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep, I'm rocking my (grand) baby, and babies don't keep
Back in the 90s and I made my first quilt, I washed my batting. When I opened the washer the batting was in pieces - rather like poly that I might use in pillows. Needless to say, I NEVER pre-wash batting anymore.
I bought a quilt at TJ Maxx that I saw online on an expensive shop. It's white with tropical leaves stitching. The problem is the areas that has no stitching the batting has kind of crumbled up in a ball after washes. Is there any way to remedy this?

Good morning from Mukilteo ,Janet here.
Quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep. I am rocking my babies, and babies don’t keep. That is often on a label for my baby quilts.
It’s so incredibly hard to remember when you’re in the midst - but a little easier when you’re Nana😁

I don’t think anyone recommends pre-washing it….but sometimes I hesitate to make sweeping statements live🤣

Sadly, I don’t think so. It’ll be related to the fibers in the batting, and the amount of quilting or lack thereof.
Is your thread tension okay now?
The main benefit of 100% cotton is environmental. Polyester is plastic.
