    I honestly use both, and I can not choose one over the other. My everyday use, they both have pros and cons. The imessage excuse is just an excuse. imessage does nothing any different than change bubble color. To me, Apple is more like a fashion statement to most in the U.S. They use apple because thats what is in style. If famous people were all to start using Android, then you would see a lot of U.S. people using Android. At the end of the day, in my opinion, it boils down to preference.

    Honestly, genuinely, someone can explain to me how an iPhone is easier to use than an Android 🤔
    For me (and the majority of my entourage), the fact of not having a universal back button and a real file manager is already too complex, incongruous 🤷🏽‍♂️
    7-8 years ago you could have talked about application optimization, now it's 2023.
    And regarding updates, I'd rather have an Android with Android 6-7 on which I can use all the apps than have an iPhone with iOS 13-14 on which WhatsApp and others do not work.
    And regarding the ecosystem Samsung and Huawei do the same, and Samsung's ecosystem is much broader than Apple's without being a jail.
    The day, iOS will have a universal back button, and a real file manager, we can open a debate.
    🙏🏽

      There's so many more features that android offers too. Android simplifies steps and reduced steps. Apple adds them and makes things harder and doesn't innovate at all.
      There is no genuine explanation. I've asked that question all over these videos hoping to get a response and I've got none thus far.

      iPhone smashes Android in ease of use. It's not even close. I've had both for years. Android is always changing the UX and menu functionality. With iPhone you become a master in a year or two and then continue to be so, year after year. If I want to take a text message on my computer, it's maybe 15 minutes setting that up on Android. On iPhone it's literally 0 seconds of setup, IT JUST WORKS. If I'm watching a youtube video on my computer, and later want to show it to a friend at their house, I just pull out the iPhone and it's just right there to show. Automagically. If I'm listening to music on my airpods and move over to somewhere else, it's seamless, I just automagically start listening on the new device, be it computer, home speaker, tablet, laptop, TV, whatever. I can't finish the list of ways because it's literally 200 more things like this that are just WAY easier and more convenient on iPhone.
      The reason I keep an Android is I can just make my own apps for super specialized technical things. For anything else, I can't see why a normal person would want an Android. The total cost of ownership for Android is double because the iPhone lasts about three times longer. It only SEEMS more expensive when you're buying it. But at the time you're replacing your Android, on Apple you're about a year away from doing a $79 battery replacement and then going another 2-3 years.

No more questions about how to use her phone:) Especially since all the Google features are built in and you don't need to download Gmail or chrome or RUclips or drive or docs. It's just built in and ready to use.

    You guys seems to not understand how android app development works, you absolutely do not need to develop for individual type and sizes of android. If you use the right constraints and layouts, the android IDE does that in the background and you have the opportunity to check how it would look in each format of android.
    Additionally most of these apps that are better on ios are American and because their market base is mostly ios, it makes sense that they start with that first. In other markets though, that's a different story

      No. Apple is cheaper. Androids last about 2.2 years before replacement, iPhones about 7.5 years before replacement. It means you're replacing an Android 3.4 times more often on average. So, I hate to break it to you, but if you pay 50% more for an iPhone, your total cost of ownership comes in at about half the cost of Android.
      This is without counting how much your time may be valuable to you. Replacing a phone and reloading it and all that stuff, over a 7 year period, it adds up to a few days worth of time lost. If time is valuable to you, several days of your life has to be added to the cost of Android ownership as well.

      @freecivweb4160 thats not necessarily true. With some flagship samsung phones they now supports about 5 to 6 years of updates on their devices as well as Google phones
      So you end up paying about 1,000 for a more featured pack device that let's you do way more than apple, I much rather have a galaxy than an iPhone but to each their own, customization is a satisfying thing. I much rather spend a premium price for something I can get the most out of, plus samsung cloud offers seamless transfer of data, so you won't spend days transferring data

  • @WaffleusRex
    @WaffleusRex Год назад +12

    In all of these except for ecosystem, my preference leans towards Android. Yes, even ease of use. I like having that universal back gesture and typing on an iPhone makes me want to throw it out the window.
    Not even SwiftKey or Gboard fully fixes things. Besides their iOS versions being worse than their Android versions, iPhones still revert to the stock keyboard for certain things like entering passwords. The iOS calculator sucks too compared to even the Google's very basic one, let alone Samsung or Xiaomi's.
    As for ecosystem, I have that very low on my list of priorities. I actively try to avoid being locked into any one company's ecosystem. I have an S23 Ultra and Tab S9 but I also have a Lenovo tablet. I have a Pixel Fold and Pixel Watch but only because it came included. I would otherwise have been fine with my Fitbit. And before that, I used a Surface Duo 2.

      No one ever talks about the keyboard, but it's absolute trash on the iPhone. My symbols, numbers and letters are all on one page, I don't need to toggle through multiple pages while texting. Jesus that would drive me nuts. Everything is just so much quicker and easier to use on android. I don't get how users of both could disagree with that.

    • @freecivweb4160
      @freecivweb4160 2 месяца назад

      You came from Android and went to iPhone but your mind was stuck in Android-world. Going back is much EASIER and superior on iPhone.
      1. Simply use your thumb and swipe left from anywhere. Far easier to do than adjusting your grip and looking for that tiny back button that is stealing your screen real estate and making your Display smaller than it really is.
      2. Simply press and HOLD the "< Back" button in the top left, and choose how many levels you want to go back. 2? 5? Deep in a menu system and want to go back 10? No problem. Press and hold and pick from the menu of exactly what point you want to go back to. An absolute powerhouse slaughter that puts Android to shame.
      Bottom line: iPhone gets a "bigger" screen because not losing screen real esatate to tiny buttons, you can literally go back one handed even if you're a BLIND person. In addition, go back as many levels as you want with only one interaction, instead of having a jazzled frustrated face of someone staring too close at their phone while they hunt and peck for pressing the back button multiple times and figuring out how many levels back they want to go.
      For keyboards, I can't argue about what is obviously subjective preference. I tend to favour whichever one I'm used to and get frustrated by whichever one I'm not used to. This is probably what's happening for you. Both phones allow you to swap out multiple keyboard types so it's hardly an issue. Funny thing is, after a year or so I finally got rid of third party keyboards and went stock, because I realized it actually has more convenient features I use more often. Any keyboard is a bit of a learning curve and especially the stock Apple keyboard. But after you master it, I honestly think it's simply better than all the other third party keyboards and stock Android keyboard also.

      I'd leave it with the FACTS that yes you can do side-loaded apk's and even your own apk's. (I'm a developer.) The part about it being WAY better, however, is subjective, not factual. For most apps, developers spend most of their time customizing and optimizing for iPhone, then do a quick translation for Android that performs much worse, if I may be honest. For your average person using a normal repertoir of only 15 to 50 different apps, almost all those apps are going to be "way better" on iOS.
      If you're a developer like me, the ability to make your own apk and sideload it is a huge benefit. But being 💯% honest about it, I'm like a 1%er. For 99% of people, the iPhone apps are going to be far superior, more optimized, better experience, better quality, and easier to use.

I know a number of people who have large families, including elderly, living off FaceTime and getting your entire family to switch to another video app is a bit unrealistic. Or, in my case, my main number is Google voice (for over a decade now) which only Android integrates properly so unless i want to give that up, it's not an option for it. I'm also a big fan of emulators which also aren't supported on ios. Some people are also forced to use one, usually ios, because of work.

I realize the Google voice support is better now on iPhone than it used to be, when i originally got Android it's because Google voice app wasn't allowed on iPhone and you had to jail break it to use it. anyway, yeah, the integration is a minor distinction but nice not to have to go into app to use Google voice if it's your primary number.

    The point about the price was dealt with poorly. It was never about the fact that iPhones are expensive period. It's about the fact that they're OVERpriced, i.e. you pay way more for less value. You're not getting what you paid for. Sure Samsung flagships are by far the most expensive but they come packed full of every feature conceivable to give you the ultimate flagship experience for the time with the best of the best, something Apple falls way short of. I always find it funny when Apple fanboys taunt Android user for being "poor", implying that expensive Android phones don't exist. They do, it's just that we mostly get what we pay for, and if that's overpriced, we look for something that is not, whereas iPhone fans are stuck with whatever Apple throws at them.

  • @voteDC
    @voteDC 5 месяцев назад +1

    The Samsung Galaxy SII has an Android 13 rom available for it, that's eleven years of software support. Sure that's not all from Samsung but it's there. The iPhone of the time, the 4s, is stuck on iOS 9 which was released in 2015. I know a lot of people wouldn't want to mess around with custom roms and would find buying a new phone to be far easier, but it's an option that should be presented when doing iPhone vs Android videos, as it actually gives the edge in software support to the Android side of things.
    Ecosystem wise I find the Android side of things to be better but not because of the integration, simply because it will work on both. For example I have a Galaxy Watch and I can use it on Android or iOS. My friend can't use his Apple Watch on Android though, which limits his future options because if he wanted a Android phone he's have to buy a new smart watch as well.

    Ease of use Apple? Are you insane? Doing stuff on iOS is sooooo more convoluted than Android by a lightyear..... If you want better productivity that isn't time consuming or takes 5x more steps to do the same thing or options iOS just straight can't do then you go Android. If you want a fashion accessory (which is fine) you go Apple. You pay more for less with Apple, it's always been that way for the last at least decade and it'll stay that way. The iPhone 15 is mostly the same as the 14 or 13 or even 12 really. Artificial restrictions and a new chipset is the only difference. You buy Apple simply for it being fashionable, you don't buy it for anything else, because objectively Android is just a superior product in general. You can do more, they have more options for phones, they have the best hardware (most of iPhones components come from other companies. Half your iPhone is made by Samsung), better features, more convenient to navigate and faster to do so.
    New development tools for Android actually makes development for apps easier on android than iOS. Android is constantly innovating and will always faster than Apple now, because there are FAR more manufacturers of android devices than Apple obviously. Apple devices for what they are are ALWAYS more expensive for what you get. Perfect example now is the OnePlus 12 for $799. (I know it wasn't out at the time of the video) This video is honestly kind of a wash. Anyone that is a semi heavy user will take Android over Apple any day of the week. It's simply easier to use, better features, better productivity, better screens, better third party options (apple can't do APK) I've given Apple fair shots, I can't do it, they are so irritating to try and use it's unbelievable.
    You are the delusional one, and clearly biased. I've tried Samsung, Apple, Google, OnePlus, Asus phones. The only one I can not stand to use is Apple. It's NOT convenient to use, it lacks important features I use DAILY, that are basic af like simple navigations just for going backwards in an app. Apple is just straight up behind by years in the software and QOL useability. This again is unsurprising since 80% of the planet uses Android devices and there are far more manufacturers because Google doesn't charge for Android OS, so you get far more resources poured into it than a single company can manage. If you're a casual scroller iPhone is fine for you, but you're paying top dollar to do the bare minimum so it still makes no sense, especially since the last 4 years the iPhones have been practically identical besides cpu, but if you're a casual user you won't even notice that. If you're a power user, you just don't go Apple. They are just straight up missing FAR too many things.

The release price of the S23 ultra is $1,199 and the iPhone Pro Max 15 is $1,199. The only Android phones that are more expensive are foldable phones. I would consider that a different class. If Apple had a foldable phone then it would be the same price too. Off the top of my head the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 Pro Max were $1,099 but the base storage was only 128GB

    Iphones are for kids and people that want to be told what to do and think

    • @freecivweb4160
      @freecivweb4160 2 месяца назад

      iPhone allows multitasking but you're right it optimizes to full screen in order to avoid all the bugs and glitches that happen in split screen. If you're a 1%er who really needs split screen, Android is superior. However, recent research showed that the majority of all split screen time on Android had been a user error that they tried to get back out of, rather than legitimate use of split screen. This makes an argument for why Apple chose the way it did it. But depending on your preferences, your use case may vary.
      Both devices are like having a PDA and a phone and a computer, all in one. For example, I do back-end linux command line rebuilds of entire websites and servers, from both Android and iPhones.
      Unfortunately, whichever one you learned first, you will have a learning curve going to the other. This makes many people falsely believe the second one they tried is worse. People who have spent years on both tend to favour the iPhone, but not always. I know some super techies who rooted their Androids and are running Linux on them instead. However, any advantages of that you can't really say as a win for Android because they literally had to REMOVE Android to get to that level. For your average user, I don't think these cases are too relevant.
      If your computer is Windows, I'd say it's roughly a tie between the two phones, for which is better. If your computer is a Mac, then it's a slaughter, like watching Mike Tyson go against a crippled elderly lady in a wheelchair. The difference is so big that many Windows users get a Mac for this reason alone.

      I really don't care at all that I can change the icons, or that I can place thousands of backgrounds with AOD, or that I can create and use a selfmade screensaver .. Nice all those changes, but it only becomes more unclear and it draining up the battery much faster. Maybe it's a age thing, being cool at school. I don't know!

      It really depends on what one calls customizations. If you're just talking icons, then yeah... but customizations could even be simple things like folders, background images, widgets (all customizations which iphone does support). Even originally, ios didn't have an app store, so customizing what apps you have on your phone could also be customizing. At the end of the day, there are tons of tweaks you can do (especially on Samsung devices) that you don't have to do, but may make life easier. For instance, i rearrange my quick tiles to have features i need quick access to, higher on the drop down but those might be different than someone else based on their usage. I also have routines set up, so when i get in my car, once it sees my Bluetooth, it automatically turns on my mobile hotspot and does a couple other things. I also customize select apps with different notification sounds so i know if something is important without picking my phone up. Some features you can't just make an executive decision for all your users but you need to allow them to customize for their lifestyle.

      @@Tha-King-Arthurso you do not care about 120Hz screen? Wireless charging? Widgets? AOD? Swype keyboard?... The list can goes on and on. You do not care... but you upgrade your iPhone... to have the features that Android users enjoyed for years. Always make me laugh this argument.

    Both produce beautiful devices.
    I'll try an iPhone some day, perhaps when my S23 Ultra packs in.
    I've always been intrigued with ios.
    The switch to usb-c will be brilliant for Apple , I can see a lot of defectors from Android happening because of this.
    I still say iphone has the best camera and video, being a photography buff I more than likely could make that switch.

    I love android don’t get me wrong. I was a dedicated Galaxy Note user for years after my iPhone uses. However until someone perfects the folding phone, I’m sticking with Apple. The S23 Ultra maybe the “new” Note but honestly until Samsung decides to bring back the Note Series, I’m staying Apple. I rocked my Note 10 Plus from release till 4 months ago when I purchased my 14 Pro Max. And I’ll probably carry it the same amount of time, if not longer.

      Exactly. I could care less about the name. Also apparently the s24u will be flat with no more slight curve if that's what you were wanting. But we won't know for sure until Jan or February. I've both companies. And the s23u is far superior than any of my previous note devices.

    The best thing about Android is the innovation, Apple have been behind Android for years in innovations taking years to catch up, big screens, wallpaper background took years for Apple to have wallpaper backgrounds. years to have folders. Years to have widgets. I know I use to have Iphones. I had to jail break them to customize them.
