I think triton has more to offer than the nissan! And for ground clearance, with the money you're not spending on the nissan you can upgrade the tritons suspension and clearance and tires. Its a no brainer to get the triton!
Nissan obviously paid more in advertising. You’d have to be nuts to buy the navara over the triton.
Test driven both today. Bought the triton GSR. Nissan has better ride comfort due to coil spring setup at the rear. Triton has stronger engine, better 4WD system (super select II is a weapon), better interior, tighter turning circle. Most importantly, the 2.4 engine and 6sp Aisin gearbox are proven. Navara's engine has Renault inputs and I will stay away from it, so is the 7 speed gearbox. Not a proven unit like the Aisin. Triton has 10 year warranty.
How’s she going 2 years later?
i go for mitsubishi i love mitsubishi ive had it for 30 years and no breakdowns at all only tires
Which Mitsubishi models you had?
No mention of the tritons super select on road 4wd no other brand has.
Much cheaper but better? What world you are living? You even don't understand what doesn't mean a yellow snow))) where to go more then 80km/h on snow or on other dangerous surfaces)? u suck, a clever blonde . U even don't have even a multi-season tires))) where to compare?
Super shitbox
@@aulord80 you don't know what you're talking about little boy
I would personally go the Mitsubishi Triton. There is about 7 Grand left to upgrade a couple bits to get to the same price of the Nissan. And you would have a slightly more capable vehicle as a result.
Even in standard form the triton is a better vehicle except for probably the ride quality.
Would take a Triton over a Navera any day. Less shit to deal with later down the road. Absolutely love my Triton especially in the orange colour.
Crazy review… no dial on stereo for volume, that’s what the buttons are for on the steering wheel. I am fairly sure the Nissan drivers seat was pushed forward and the tritons was pushed back during the rear seat space segment as well because I have viewed both vehicles and the Nissan is crazy small in the rear. To top it off “Theoretical towing” wtf is that🤣
One thing you haven’t researched is the reliability issues in after sales I’ve worked for both these companies and the scales tip nicely towards the Mitsubishi side as most of the driveline remains reliably Japanese opposed to the Nissan where it has a very atrocious French over complicated prone to oil leak engines. Also the Mitsubishi runs a Toyota/Aisin trans which is extremely smooth and reliable. I hope the next gen Triton doesn’t get the woeful Renault/Nissan engine and transmission.
Don’t like the Tritons touch screen volume setup…then use the controls on the steering wheel like everyone else does 😏
I thought exactly that John...
🤣🤣yes exactly mate
I'm sorry but could you have put the seat any further back in the triton? You do realize that the triton is only second to the ranger in rear legroom. Another thing is although the Nissan has a tad more suspension travel which makes a big difference in keeping all the wheels on the ground that doesn't make it better off road. The triton has a superb traction control system which im sure you tested that locks up wheels with no traction and transfers power efficiently. This combined with great low range gearing and the diff lock makes it unstoppable off road with proper tires. The Nissan is great off road but not better than the mitsubishi definitely
One counter point on your traction control comment is that the navara keeps the traction control active on the front axle even when the rear diff lock is engaged, which will massively help off road ability. The Triton doesn't do this.
I do feel that they failed to mention the Triton can drive in awd mode on tar, where the navara can't, and from a safety standpoint, this is very important.
@@michaelroditis7300 agreed 👍
The one with the 10 year warranty. Buy that one.
The Super Select is a big Plus for the Triton, I use it often when towing or on gravel, but no mention about that. This was not a good review in my opinion...
Triton, cheap, reliable, good resale value, looks handsome, adequate power to take you anywhere 💯
The Nissan looks nice. That's where it ends. The reviewer is compromised here. The Mitsi is miles ahead.
Mitsubishi is the oldest first japanese manufacturer car and four wheel drive, Mitsubishi also built electrical components shipping jet aircraft fighter, rocket and so many others
You're singing too much Nissan praise for a unbiased review unfortunately. So much extra money on the "new" Nissan without any extra mechanical changes. Also noted that the model under the pro4x gets the sunroof which the pro4x doesn't have the option of. good food for thought.
That's because it's nor new. It's a face-lift. The new navara is only due in 2024
Why would you worry about volume buttons on the screen when there is the volume knotch on the steering wheel of the triton?
Triton eats Navara for breakfast
Both are good , Mitsubishi very good for cross country and highway very good driving performance, Nissan very strong at hill terrain and highway runner up in Dakar rally.
I would think one of the decision points for buying a new vehicle would be warranty.
He said that he would have preferred a volume dial on the Triton stereo. But there is a toggle switch on the steering wheel.
And that goes to show the research these "media heads" do.
New Nissan Navara is good but it lacks power and it has a dead spot in the auto between 120 km/h and 140km/h it's also slow 0-100. The auto gear shift looks very dated but its the engine's lack of power where Nissan missed a huge opportunity to gain market share.
Hmm I don't mind the d23, but after owning my d40 2.5l diesel it's been a dog of a car to own too many issues in only 80000km. I think the triton is more reliable it's a tough decision though.
Never seen another review where Navara beats Triton. This review is too fishy. LOL.
You cannot option heated or power adjusted seating on the Pro-4x.
That option is only available on the ST-X.
Don't get it either considering the pro-4x is meant to be the flagship.....
A few other reviews have mentioned about he lack of heated seats. For that price, it's a bit disappointing
Booyah I wish these were bound for the USA and North American markets.
Booyah 👊 😁 👍 🇺🇲 🇨🇦🇲🇽🇦🇺
I would go for the Triton. Its a better looking car.
How much is Pro-4X?
I wonder when will these two become mechanical twins much like the Isuzu D-max and Mazda BT-50
Next year.
2022
Next video pls review the new dmax vs hilux conquest
A good intro to these models - I wonder what is next now that Mitsubishi is in the Renault camp with Nissan - Will we saw a Nissan Navara/Mitsubishi Triton marriage like the Isuzu Dmax/Mazda BT 50 underpinnings? The Renault engine in the Navara may get some DNA from the reliable and more powerful Mitsubishi Triton? I’d be happy with either and expect to see more Navara’s on the road with this much improved model - the first version in this series had a few issues - John in SA
triton is not more powerful.. nor more reliable... triton looses all its power after 3000rpm because of small single turbo, low end power is used up with a small turbo. The navara has compound twins, low and high pressure, so when the triton stops pulling the navara just keeps going. I know from experience
@@nicholassiddans6080 will Nissan lose the Renault engine now and rear coil springs? I suspect the new Triton (nee Navara) will unfortunately lose the Super Select system now. John in SA
@@johnnumbat9782 I have navara 2.5 VL. navara will lose in a dead stop but after 300meters or more, navara prevail. also, if you have AT trans, put it to manual and you will feel the power difference compared to auto mode. I have already encounter all types of pickup/SUV on highway and navara prevails always. my navara is more than 3years now and I have no issues.
@@johnjohnix thats a good news story Cha which is refreshing to hear in the car owners world today 👍🏻
Mitsubishi the winner, same like Nissan Skyline vs Mitsubishi lancer evolution GSR track race , GSR always the winner
Or... You can wait till 2022 then the Triton will be a Navara 🤮 thank goodness I got a 2020 model MR.
I would never buy a Nissan anything, triton all day
Why you never buy a Nissan? Tell us some reasons.
@@gutadin5 he has no reasons.
Of Course Nissan would try and put a little better equipment in their vehicle because don't they own a majority share in Mitsubishi Motors. Also don't you find that the rear seat and center cupholder in the rear look very "Mitsubishi" like in Both Utes?? It's sad to say that the Mighty Mitsubishi is now a "Nissan Product " and I would not buy one. I love Older Mitsubishi's when they were actually built and designed by Mitsubishi.
So if I understood correctly the Nissan is cheaper than the Triton ?
I love triton
Tritons look yuk but isn't the Navara got twin turbo
To be honist i dont car who wins im buying the nothing can changr my mind of buying the Nissan Navara pro 4x
Buy a Navara if you are a certified lunatic that loves to burn money and feel frustration at your vehicle’s woeful unreliability and terrible manners. Speaking as a former Nissan and Mitsubishi tech.
We need comments from people like you who know the cars.
If use backseat often go navara. Most comfortable ute for work and family.
Triton all day
Navara is now a 2.5 (single turbo) engine?
NO.
@@tpv59 2.5 engine is Navara.
@@gutadin5
Thank You Sir. I thought is was a 2.8 litre. My apologies.
Hav a gd 1.
triton is always the best pick up ever
Wait.. what!? 😂
Triton, every time
When Chinese cars become reliable, it's game over for both those utes
They'll be one and the same soon enough.
I've owned a triton with the 2.4..... nice ute and an easy pick over the navara, but I now own a ford ranger and tbh once you own a ranger you realise these two utes don't come close. I'm still a huge mitsy buff but bang for your buck is about all the triton offers. i mean it looks sweet but terrible at towing imo and its to narrow. terrible leg and head room. the 2.4 is fine but I found myself ringing its neck all the time. if it had a wider and longer wheel base without so much overhang on the rear of the chassis and with the pajero 3.2 engine id buy one again. I bought the wife a 2020 pajero and the 3.2 in it is so torquey and for such an old timer of a donk it leaves the mivec 2.4 in its dust. I even prefer it over the ranger 3.2 5 cylinder . the mitsubishi of old was the best. ohh well those days are gone!
Me 2 had my ranger for 5 months love it
there is a good reason for the short wheelbase and they will keep it at that
@@dwcubatch83 and what reason is that ? it's got a great turning circle and that's about it.
I mean the Triton is a perfect pickup for everything except payload and towing. Absolutely love mine. But if we're being honest if I was gonna tow or carry around big payloads I wouldn't buy a Triton.
Navara can follow triton athlete with super select on highway..navara fully loaded, meanwhile triton empty 😂😆
Worst comparo by far between the two, earlier comments show it more too. Wasn't even that comprehensive hence the easy decision to give it to the Nissan.
Even CarExpert done it wrong recently by giving an award to the Navara just because it has more off road "goodies" despite the Triton performing better, on H/T tires! 🤦♂️
Go for triton. Triton ..triton .triton
has anyone counted the word "navara" used in the spot? navara... navara... navara... uhh. Mitsi rules, Navara is... Nissan.
I hate triton design
An attempt to push Navara's sales by 'winning' it over the mighty Triton. LOL. Most people prefer Triton over the Navara. In 2023, we will see a Navara-fication of the Triton anyways.
Mitsubishi the best
This is a very suss, and compromised " review"
its a pick up go for real pick up not suv 😂😂😂
#triton
nissan motor also belong to Mitsubishi
No, belong to Renault
Nissan is the best
Why are these car reviews so shit? No mention of Triton's super select 4WD. Just deplorable.
Bet the outcome will be a no contest as both are shitboxes
The navara sucks.
Triton sucks
@Andrew why the Navara sucks?
