"These houses have too many windows"...welllllll... It's Midnight Hollow. Every houseplant would die without that many windows. 😂 Whenever I've played it, I have the lights on almost 24/7 because it's only well-lit outside for a few hours/day. If it's raining, omg, fuggetaboutit. This has to be the most vitamin D deficient population ever. 😂
I’m just traumatized by EA putting 75 windows on a starter farm house :S Midnight hollow I use a specific lighting mod to make sure I can see what I’m doing haha
@@Rekowcski 😂😂😂 I was binge-watching your videos and saw that trauma. I'm sorry for your eyes. Bless EA's lil heart. Maybe that's why they gave us an Architectural Designer career in Ambitions. They figured our sims might as well get paid for fixing their builds 😂 What lighting mod do you use? I tried playing Olive and Nervous years ago, but I couldn't get past not being able to...ya know...see
@@lunacouer people have theorized that twinbrook is so ugly because they wanted us to fix it... i think it's just left over disasters from sunset valley's development haha i change depending on the world, but i recommend anything by "brntwaffles" ... this one is the "blue skies and sunshine" one
@@Rekowcski 🤣 I think you're right. They were like the 2nd string builds, which, when you look at Sunset Valley, really tells you something. I'm so grateful that they got so much better at building as they went along. I have zero patience for building, so with Sunset Valley and Twinbrook, I immediately start searching for builds from other, WAY more talented creators. I can't play in those builds, not when I'm the one looking at them for hours. 😂 The patterns, the PATTERNS ALONE. It's like you'd do things in Sims 1 as a kid, lol. I'm sorry you had to go through that, lol. I just watched your IP build rankings, and I'm so happy your eyes were mostly delighted instead of injured. THANK YOU for the lighting mod recommendation. MH is an amazing world, but that lighting 🤨
A note: Eerie Den is intentionally shabby and bland. The character's bio is that he used to be poor and now that he's rich, he's extremely frugal and refuses to spend more than the bare minimum -- this is also reflected in his clothes. I'm playing Midnight Hollow rotationally now, and I married him to a sim with veeery expensive tastes, so the house looks a bit different now. Also, Nervous Subject is now a young adult in my game, and (with the exception of the hairstyle I gave him) he looks exactly like his Sims 2 version.
My least favorite thing about Midnight Hollow is how they sanitized Olive Specter. In The Sims 2, she was heavily implied to be a serial killer and black widow; in The Sims 3, they made it so she's just very, very unlucky.
Midnight Hollow is inspired by Sleepy Hollow from 1999 . And I love this Sims 3 world . one of my favourites between Aurora Skies, Lucky Palms and Monte Vista
I just want to point out that a lot of the houses in Moonlight falls are carpenter gothic or American Revival Gothic so the doe house looks the part (basically a Queen Anne style home mixed with a bit of antebellum style) oh also at 8:03 Literally every suburban or urban home in colonial America was like that because they were built semetrically compared to modern homes (often with a central fireplace to warm the entire house) and you could likely find some colonial houses in some towns historic neighborhoods so
i’ve been binging these type of videos on your channel and im obsessed with your content. im always glad to see sims 3 youtubers making great content its my favorite game
Yay, another one of these! I've never played in this town so everything feels new. And it seems like whoever worked on these houses did they homework well. Btw, I think they have used MOO a few times in TS3 worlds, especially when it came to outdoor greenery, I only remember one of TS4 devs saying that they're not using it in their game now so that players can place back everything they moved around without using cheats.
Absolutely. I am a stickler for historical accuracy and as a whole, the world is spot on 90% of the time. This episode is really just a matter of good vs ugly colours and practical vs impractical floor plans. Thank you for the MOO explanation I will cite you in the next video, I am always looking to learn x
Have I watched this video before? Yes. Have I watched the whole series when it was going? Yes. Did I just start over wathcing all? Yes. Am I regretting that? No, not even baby poo can make me regret!
the separated bathrooms thing is pretty common in old english houses, i dont know the reason, but i guess they had sinks in houses before they had like toilets and baths inside of houses so toilets or baths were just chucked in whatever space there was, so you do find seemingly random rooms with just a random toilet but no sink, or a sink and toilet in one room then a bath in another lol. since midnight hollow is going for ye olde building vibes, maybe thats what they were going for
Yes I agree, I knew about the plumbing “washrooms” and “toilets” are separate... but this world is using every combination possible. So I was mostly surprised by “shower and toilet” with the tub and sink separate :S
"I've never seen a brick church in my life" WhaaAAAAT??? I live in Poland and almost all churches are made of brick. And i think the same thing goes for Germany and Czech Republic and many other countries
The first house didn't look like a church at all and the bricks were not the reason for this. Actually I am suprised that you pointed out the bricks in the first place. The church in my birth town and pretty much every church I've seen here are all made with red bricks. I don't know if it's a German thing 🤔
Most definitely not just a German thing. We have a lot of brick churches scattered throughout the US, especially in the east coast (some are the oldest buildings in town too). I agree, the church building in Midnight hollow does not look like newer brick church builds, but that style reminds of and old schoolhouse/church in one of the New England states. Prior to the revolution, children would attend schools either in the church, attached to the church or beside/behind the church.
Me too dude! I usually only work w/my own builds. And I love designing & building houses. But, I love you taking us through some game builds. Also, how funny is he?
11:43 i disagree i think that tile is awesome. its an ugly orange for a dreary landscape and the navy blue really makes it pop. obviously its a bad combo but like.. i think its vibes r amazing
Where did you get the idea that the devs were not allowed to use " move objects"? I know for certain that they have, as NRaas pointed out to address routing/functionality issues from EA builds that used the cheat, but forgot to play test for routing issues and functionality. Are Sims 4 devs not allowed to use the cheat?
This may be an American thing, but here in Germany we don't have garbage bins in our bathrooms 😂😂😂So seeing a garbage bin in a Sims 3 house is kinda weird for me 😂😂
That's strange though. Small bathroom bins are pretty common and normal Germany. Maybe not for single men but otherwise it is and should be for various reasons. 🤔
Love it! I had no idea Olive Specter was in Sims 3, that's cool but I find it pretty lazy that the graves there couldn't at least be the first 3 that died... that would have just been so much better
@@Rekowcski you inspired me to play her house in sims 2 yesterday but after I looked at the storyline I just wanted to make the whole town turn against her and murder her or something 😂

Red brick churches are actually pretty common in the neogothic style. In La Plata, the city I live in, we even have a red brick Cathedral.
