Milwaukee's SUPERCHARGER! Why you should AND shouldn't buy it.

Milwaukee Supercharger is a nice charger! It does charge M18 high output batteries fast! Though it will only charge Red Lithium batteries at the same rate as a Rapid Charger does. This charger is still a great investment if you need to charge your batteries faster than a regular charger. Here are my thoughts \ on this charger and if you should buy it.

Do you know if the fast-chargers cook the batteries if left on the charger after they are fully charged? Charging is important. I've been charged, I've charged, I've been held down and charged. But who hasn't?

I don’t know if you it’s because of the camera in fast forward but it seemed like you pulled the battery when it was flashing green I know with the rapid changer it will blink green when the battery is at 80% and then will turn to sold green when fully charged. I have the 3 bay m18 rapid charger and love that thing since it will rapid charge 3 m18 batteries at once

Yeah it was blinking green for about 10 min before I pulled it. I have newer 12 amp batteries that are charged at the 50 min mark. So each battery is different I’m assuming

20 minute charging is 3C. I don’t know of any lithium ion cell (18650 or 21700) that allows more than 2C and over 1C reduces cycle life, the data sheets specifically state that.
I’m not up to date on the electronics inside the battery but I would hope Milwaukee uses a BMS that can send a LOW or HIGH signal to the super charger for current output from the charger.
The only cells I know of that support >2C charging are A123’s, Headways, and then most LTO cells support up to 10C (or better) charge and discharge which is unique to that chemistry

Honestly it is not the software but larger battery cell.Hence high output

Can the rapid charger charge normal M18 and 12 battery without damaging them.

No they do not have the tech inside the batteries to allow rapid charging.
