Just my opinion but Pantera doesn't have any albums heavy as Justice and Master of Puppets. Metallica was dark, brooding and heavy. Pantera to me is kinda like party metal if such a thing existed. Obviously they have a few really dark songs. Hollow, Cemetery Gates, This Love. Most old Metallica is pretty downcast dark and painfully expressed. Just to be clear I'm not calling Pantera thrash. Pantera is Pantera. Just saying their closest peers are the kings of thrash. Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, etc. I'd say Anthrax and Pantera are closer cause they both have that punk influenced lets get drunk slam dance and forget all the bullshit party metal vibe. They were like what Ramones were in punk. Kinda dark. Kinda serious. But kinda fun and care free. A perfectly polarizing mix and heavy as shit. Love the channel name. One of my favorite Acid Bath songs. Grave Flower, Venus Blue, Dr Suess Is Dead, Dope Fiend, Locust Spawning.

It's was a far cry from the 1.6 million fans at this Moscow concert. This concert is apparently the 4th largest rock concert ever. RIP Dimebag & Vinnie, the two greatest heavy metal brothers of all time.

Pantera was a live band. They were tight as hell and Dime played sober, drunk and never missed a beat. He was one of the greatest metal guitarist. He had a unique sound and was a riff master like no one else. His dive bombs are legendary and his solos are pure melodic, destructive beauty. He inspired a whole generation and is a legend who was respected by his peers for his kindness and for his masterful guitar playing. RIP Abbott brothers. The Cowboys from hell forever. Stronger than all!
I had a chance to see pantera when I was 18 I didn’t go because i was like “oh I’ll see them another time”..... worst decision ever. Shortly after that dimebag was shot. It’s one of my biggest regrets.

Eventually, things quieted down, but that was the inspiration for that song... according to Phil Anselmo himself.

He was shot in the face by a fan of pantera because the band split up and the brothers formed a new band called damage plan. Cliff (Burton) and Dimebag are the first things I think of when people talk about losing people too early. I'm glad Dime got a few more years than Cliff, but who knows what riffs Dime would be writing right now if he was still alive. We'll never get to hear what could have been.

These two were so loved that DFW went silent for 10 minutes when the news broke out about Dime being murdered. Country, Hip Hop, Spanish, Classical, Oldies. Didn't matter. Silent.

Pantera was formed as a band in 1981. Cowboys from hell album came out in 1990. Band members are drummer is VINNIE Paul he is the brother of the lead guitar dimebag Darrel Abbott the singer vocalist is Phil ANSALMO and the bass player is Rex brown. VINNIE died not long ago of a massive heart attack at home in Las Vegas. And dimebag Darrel the best guitarist ever was murder on stage in 2004. He was shot in the face by a fan of pantera because the band split up and the brothers formed a new band called damage plan. Damage plan consisted of pantera band members VINNIE Paul and dimebag Darrel and Rex brown. RIP VINNIE PAUL ABBOTT AND DIMEBAG DARREL ABBOTT.
