Not to mention that higher graphics cards like the 3090 wouldn’t have worked with lower CPU’s because of compatibility and motherboard compatibility.

    This isn’t a bad build - Esports , recent-older PC games and emulation would do well. Just temper your expectations and you’ll have fun. Also a case transplant can pretty it up a bit if that’s important to you. But this SFF fits well into an entertainment center quite nicely.

I have a similar build in a HP elite 8300 sff with a gigabyte single fan model, and it does get toasty lol. Games that I want to play on a budget PC like this:
    Minecraft: Java Edition
    CS:GO
    Rocket League
    Among Us
    Also these specs are what I'm trying to aim for:
    Intel Core i5 4460 at least
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050/1050Ti or 1650/1650 Super/Ti
    16GB DDR3
    EVGA 450BR PSU

  • @45kaliberPT
    @45kaliberPT 3 года назад +3

    For +20$ you can add a 1650 LP instead that's about a 20% performance uplift over the 1050Ti
    Also in the video you said the CPU which I suppose is a i5 2400 is bottle-necking the graphics card but it's probably the other way around it's the graphics card that is not fast enough. That CPU should be more than enough for a measly 1050.
    I don't know if the motherboards supports it but you can also try fiddling with the RAM timings and slightly overclocking the videocard to get a little more performance.
    And for anyone reading this don't buy the I3 2120 variant it's dual core only that will definitely bottleneck the GPU.

    • @Atipam
      @Atipam Год назад

      Actually this PC only have PCI-E 2 so that is the bottleneck. 1650 should be overkill, and even the 1050 TI is probably not running on fullpower about the power limits of the motherboard. Something like 65 watt and 20 amp as I remember, but maybe I say stupid.

    There was a PCIe 16x slot directly above the PSU and the slot where you now installed your GPU was an PCIe 4x open-ended slot. So with the 7040 you also had the option to install a low profile double slot card but it would only be able to use 4 lanes while the 16x slot could only be used with a low profile single slot card.... This makes a great starter pc for a kid. Plays fortnite, slime rancher, minecraft, among us etc.
    I would stay away from the i5 2400 though. That pc is going to be really old. If you spend two weeks on ebay can easily get into a 3rd or 4th gen i5 which are substantially better for close to the same price.
    Im not a big fan of the LP 1050ti. Those things are really expensive and for the money trade off probably better to get a non LP card plus MId tower size optiplex. Still close to the same total price but much easier to upgrade later

    You do not need a low profile card in a SFF! Although the PSU does have very low wattage and a specific 8 pin PSU to Motherboard connector with no upgrades, that doesn't mean you can't replace the PSU!! If you want a better GPU and PSU with higher wattage please consider getting a 24 pin to 8 pin adapter! THE CASE WILL NOT CLOSE WITH A NORMAL GPU! IF THE PSU DOESN'T FULLY FIT IN THE CASE YOU CAN ALWAYS PUT IT ON THE OUTSIDE! If this helped you're welcome. Low Profile cards are more expensive and cost more than cards that make higher Fps.
