Peter has made these videos so much better! 😂 I burst into laughter watching you two guys mess around everytime now. The goofiness is contagious in this video.
The stock wheels are perfect. The ground effect kit is perfect. The spoiler is perfect. It looks just like it should; period correct for a car that has a few extras. Awesome job on all the fixes and detail!
You and Peter have quickly turned into my two favorite RUclipsrs just from watching this series from the start. Thank you both for the time and dedication yall had towards this Vette and giving it a second chance at life.
This is an interesting story about those wheels . Back in my showroom stock racing days, we use to run those directional wheels . The wheel was designed to draw outside air through the wheel to cool the brakes . One day, my crew, while watching my Corvette go down the front straight, noticed a hotdog wrapper get sucked through the wheel . Since we videoed the car at different places on the track, this incident was recorded . While reviewing the videos the hotdog wrapper incident was mentioned again . After watching that wrapper get sucked through the wheel, I commented, I never would have imagined that much air would be moved by those wheels . I then thought, if the direction of the wheels were reversed, how much air would be moved from underneath the car . Immediately, I told my crew to get as close to the track as the officials would allow and video the distance between the tire and the fender . I took the car out once again for the afternoon practice session . When practice was over, I instructed my crew to reverse the wheels . The next day the wheels were reversed for the last practice session . Once again, I instructed the crew to just like the day before, video the tire to fender measurement . After practice, we all reviewed the videos and compared the measurements . The tire was an inch closer to the fender with the wheels reversed . That meant the reversed wheels acted like 4 giant fans drawing air from underneath the car causing a low pressure area under the car . That little bit of reclaimed downforce caused the car to cut through the air with better efficiency than when the wheels were run in the correct direction . The car was also being sucked down on to the track with the added ground effects from running the wheels reversed . We were on a 3.1 mile road course and with that little change to the car 3 tenths of a second was taken off my laptimes . With some added length to the skirting on the sides of the car and a slightly wider chin spoiler we reduced the amount of air going under the car and that increased the low pressure area beneath the car, giving me that much more downforce than before . At 1:00 o'clock when the cars were called to the grid one of the other competitors asked if I knew I had my wheels on backwards ? I acted concerned and told him, with a grin on my face, my crew must have screwed up and I hoped it wouldn't cause brake issues later on in the race . That was all that was ever said about me running my wheels reversed . In fact, it became my trademark, as long as I raced that Corvette !

Fantastic story! I wish the trial and error methods of yesterday were still a thing of the present. Just a bunch of men standing around and brainstorming with no internet or social media to speak of.
The way Alex has them installed looks like they would pull from the inside to the outside. Also, the top of the wheel is moving faster than the bottom so it looks like it would be more aerodynamic the way it is but may be shielded by the fender and tire.
I have restored several Corvettes to Top Flight awards. I love what you have done to this car. You saved it from the graveyard. The mods are period perfect. I like the original wheels. Your detailing is spectacular. Sorting the mechanical issues is an ongoing task with any older Corvette. You did a great job. C4 Corvette values are not great right now but the good ones will only grow in value over time. My opinion is that your car might sell somewhere in the mid to high teens in its current condition. Being a 40th edition helps. At that price it will be a screaming good deal for a Corvette fan.
I'd keep the ground effects kit and spoiler! It really adds depth to the car, and gives it that unique 90's look. Added with the stock wheels, it has that amazing retro feel to it. Absolutely beautiful car! Can't wait to see what you guys work on next!
You’ve really outdone yourself. This is absolutely INSANE. I have no mechanical ability whatsoever but your videos inspire me to one day put a wrench to my dad’s 78’ z28 that I inherited. Thanks for always bringing positivity and for sharing your passion with us. Be well!
You should go for it. Honestly engines and cars really aren’t that complex once you have an understanding of why they work they way they do. And a 78 car is 10x simpler than any modern car today. There’s only a few things that can go wrong on those old cars.
I used to *hate* Corvettes because it seemed like everyone in the Midwest thought they were the pinnacle of cool cars...but honestly...they've grown on me. The interior is still 90s GM, which is gruesome, but this thing is sexy. Love the body kit on it.
I can't say enough great things about this car and your channel! As a former detailing business owner (I've now had 5 spine surgeries and had to quit), I totally get and respect everything you are doing with this car. I love you're keeping the paint original. I was watching you pressure wash the floor mats and I wanted to recommend something. I know it seems like the pressure washer would be all you need but I tell you what, get some various drill brushes. Ryobi sells the best for the money for an over the counter situation. There are 3 levels of stiffness when it comes to the brushes. You can use a great cleaner and MF towel and get great results.....say on a plastic panel. Then, simply agitate with the drill brush combo before wiping and OMG! You will never go without them again! Once again, thanks for all you do and keeping it LEGIT!
I cry watching this go from scrap to killer legit... was my dream... ask the wife... I am just in awe of your "tricks" and the work you put into these rebuilds. Nice find.
Watching this whole S/Cd C4 Corvette series really shows you what buying a car from the 80s and 90s is really like. They can look amazing, and drive amazing for what they are, but there's going to be problems and headaches. But in the end, if you stick with it, it's so rewarding to finally get to enjoy your car. Beautiful work!
Wow, the Corvette looks awesome guys, what a transformation. I love the new wheels and the body kit and wing compliments this car. The nurses asked me, who is this lady that makes you smile so bright and I told them that her names Ruby & she's absolutely beautiful when she cleans up, lol. Amazing job Alex and Peter, I can hardly wait for the next video 👊 keep up the good work guys ✊
Great video, Peter is hilarious, especially with the mits haha, also... I personally think the spoiler suits the car, keep it! The wheels are a hard choice really, both look good... happy thanksgiving Alex and Peter.
OMG!!! The cosmetic transformation of that car is absolutely stunning. I’m generally not a fan of red cars but that particular Ruby red on that car is a showstopper. Great call on putting the factory wheels back on, it really makes it look so correct. Love your channel and especially the way you show us that you don’t need to be a world class mechanic to do these things. Keep it up Alex and Peter.
Looks amazing!! Please keep the kit!! It's sooo 90's, makes the car stand out too. Was iffy on the sawblades but looks perfect with the after reveal and all cleaned up. Good job alex and peter :)
great job on this revival! im not usually a fan of body kits but this just looks so period correct i wouldn't change a thing, the new older wheels look great too.
I can't believe I have been anticipating a detail of a 25 yr old car thats already made several videos. Every video I kept hoping more and more you guys would start cleaning it. EDIT: I wouldn't change a thing on the car -> the ground effects, the wheels, the wing, everything is just as it should be.
Cherry on top....taking it back to the original owner to give him a ride. that just made me feel so good. There's nothing like being reunited with something you poured so much love into. and yes I spent almost an hour watching you guys detail that car and enjoyed every minute of it.
Definitely keep it as is! That car is a perfect representation of a 90’s C4. I wouldn’t change a thing. Great find and awesome job bringing her back to life.
When soldering copper wire connections, you'll get the best solder joints if you'll add a little bit of electrical flux paste to the bare wires, then tin the tip of the iron. Apply the hot tip to the area you applied the flux, which will quickly melt. Then begin adding solder (thin electrical solder, not the larger solder used for sweating copper pipes!). Only a very small amount of electrical solder is needed, then apply the shrink wrap just as you did. PRO TIP: If you don't have a lighter or torch to heat the shrink wrap, wipe any solder off of the tip of your soldering iron and apply the hot tip of your iron along the sides of the shrink wrap, and that will heat it sufficiently to shrink that stuff down. Great job, guys!
Two words - Simply Amazing! From the ground effects to the factory wheels. What a transformation. Can’t wait to see more of the vette in up coming videos.
You guys have outdone yourself this time, Alex&Peter ! What an amazing budget-project this is, just purely amazing. AMAZING And love the look of the bodykit with the stock wheels, the car is a stunning LEGIT STREET CAR :)
Leave the kit on, it fits the car perfectly, the color is matched beautifully, and it fits the sounds and performance. This would be (nearly) my perfect 40th anniversary Corvette!
Alex and Peter, you guys are quite a team. Great vibe too😊 The C4 looks beautiful! Hope she drives as good as she looks. Not a huge fan of the ground effect claddings though...
You should definitely keep the body kit! It fits perfectly on the car. But you should also fix the automatic antenna and show how to flip it in one of your videos. I‘d really love to see how this works, b/c I need to exchange mine as well 😉 Keep up the good work! Cheers from Germany and Happy Thanksgiving!
Your a natural with these videos, I absolutely am NOT a corvette guy but you hooked me in on this series. Your sidekick balances the video with you. Loved the look on your face when the other guy said he was born in the 90s. I’m subscribed.
Love it! I always wanted a ZR1 of that era and this Anniversary model looks great after the detail and ceramic coating! Nice job Alex, really enjoying the variety of cars you have brought back to life. Keep it Legit! 😉👍
My dad had a ZR1 in Saudi Arabia in the 90s in this colour. Until he decided to climb a couple of juvenile palm trees in it. 🤦🏻♂️ He was very lucky they were young trees as someone else had hit the adult ones recently and they'd been replaced. It was quick and very pretty especially with the body kit his had but didn't handle so well at all.
Fantastic job! I agree with keeping the ground effects, it suits this car perfectly. The sawblade rims complete the aesthetic. Once you guys hammer out those engine hiccups, look out. She is a beauty. Ruby does fit and she shines like a gem now.
This is fantastic, this color on the vette is so nice. I love the way that you guys joke around and have fun. These videos are so informative and so entertaining. Keep it up you guys, you are killing it!
Really enjoyed watching this series. Personally I’d prefer no ground effects. However I also recall wanting a Vette with them when I was a teen. I see both sides of it.
Great job and thats a fantastic car. The only thing I'd change are those exhaust tips. I think a double square tip suits better with the shape of the car and the body kit. Btw, this body kit looks a little like the callaway body kit, and that was astonishing.
I hope you can find a targa top. Are they all clear? I don’t think it would matter if it was solid color because it would look good painted gloss black with the back hatch window with new black limo tint. It would flow together nicely.
What a great feeling to know that your restoring someones once proud show car that was nearly junked with so much potential left in it's abandonded state, and to have actually talked to the former owner. As a kid, a C4 with these wheels and bodykit were about the best looking thing next to an F-40 IMO in 1992. Keep kit. I also wished my 94 Cmaro had the F-1 kit
I actually kind of like the spoiler. Amazing transformation I must say. Wish I could find a deal like that! Any plans to fix the tint and the scratches on the door glass?
No ground affects kit, and the original wheels... SOOOOO much better! Fantastic job cleaning her up. My dad had one same color when I was a teenager. Definitely have a soft spot for C4's.
If they take the ground effects off the would have lots of holes in the body, that would have to fix. And the car would have to be repainted. Best just leave it as is.
Looking good! I would remove the body kit and rear spoiler and return it to it original former glory. I actually purchased this identical car brand new in 1993. The price was around $32,000.00. I kept it for 7 months and wholesaled it to a dealer for $29,000.00. They depreciated pretty quickly back then.
I understand and can respect the decision to go back to the factory wheels, I however liked the look of the other rims. Would you consider going to aftermarket period correct wheels? I do like the period correct body kit. You guys did a great job! Keep the Corvette content ripping! Oh and Cleetus smiles every time to call your corvette Ruby!😁
I love the look of the Body kit, it really helps give that C4 more of a presence while giving the car essentially more wheel well for the wheels to fill out. If I had a C4, I'd do the exact same thing that I see here!
The bodykit is far and away the best part of this car. Literally what anyone would want their C4 Corvette to look like in the early 90s... on the Jersey Shore.
The body kit isn't bad at all, and the original wheels look great; the C6 wheels are probably better for weight and brake cooling performance but don't quite fit the style. Amazing transformation, hopefully the electrical issues issues with the ignition system don't continue to frustrate!
The body kit needs to stay...it just looks right at home on her. As for the wheels.... I personally liked the chrome ones better than the og ones. Happy Thanksgiving to you guys and your families! Also to everyone in the comments here! 💙🙏🏼
being a kid born in the 80s early mind you. you just saved what i back then would have drooled over. thank you for your content and showing this the c4 is a relic to alot dont change it just keep it going brother.
I have a 91 ZR1. I watched this Corvette video from start to finish. You guys are great at explaining details from the mechanics to the detailing. The video series was like a mystery where you were captivated on each turn of the key! I don’t like a wing on the second gen C4 as I like the rear look. But unbelievable how you restored it. I bet the previous owner makes a bid to get Ruby back.
Unbelievable man. She is a timeless beauty. I would name her Athena (a Greek goddess). I would not get rid of the Greenwood, body kit or the rear spoiler/wing. I would leave her just as she is. She is beautiful.
To be honest , the C6 wheels suit this C4 so good ...I would say they look even better than those new "stock" C4 Wheels IMO ... BTW : awesome restoration !
Alex you and Peter are too Cool for words. I binged the entire series while nursing a bad cold. I am new to the channel and look forward to seeing more. Shout out to Peter my half halie brother. I'm half Japanese and Irish.
I bought a couple of the AvalonKing DIY ceramic coating kits a few years ago... Coated my Ford Explorer, Scion FRS, Triumph Daytona, and Kawasaki ZX-6R. I didn't go crazy with paint correction, or make sure every inch of the vehicles were perfect before coating them, just cleaned and rubbed them down with alcohol. It's amazing how easy it was to do, and how freaking well it works.
Awesome job guys! The wheels it came with were actually C6 wheels. I’ve never liked them on the C4, but the 93 40th anniversary had the sawblades & ruby red center caps.
Watching you guys do this car, it brought back memories of my family and I visiting the plant when they were producing the 1993 Corvette. We took an assembly line tour and I was picked to start a 40th at the end of the production line.. how cool if this was that 40th!
Man…you guys have worked your ass off on this vehicle and the results show! So refreshing to see professionals @ work. Keep the videos popping, stay safe and rock on gentlemen!
Awesome job the older cars are something you can appreciate the craftsmanship and quality put into them also are a part of history I'm glad you bought that and gave it new life I would hold onto that forever that car is definitely a rare gem!!!!
It’s 8:24 am in Canada, I’m driving with my phone on my dash mount listening to your video on my 3 hour journey to pick up a tool from a co worker! It’s a cold but good norming!
In 1993 just 448 ZR-1 Corvettes were produced and only 240 of them were 40th Anniversary Edition cars. The 40th Anniversary Package consisted of a deep and glossy Ruby Red exterior finish over a matching Ruby Red interior with leather adjustable sport seats.
Love the look. Ground Effect Kit and the Spoiler are so well matched color wise that it doesn't look like an aftermarket add-on. Also, you said if taking off the spoiler would probably have holes. Leave it alone. Ruby looks great. As always, you did a super job changing the car and making it from a bio-hazard to Phenomenal. $1500+Parts=$5400 The work you guys put into it sellable for at least $15,000. Great!!!
Love this series man, just found the page a couple weeks ago and its already my favorite channel! Love the attention to detail, intent to teach, and genuine love for what you’re doing. Thanks for sharing your work and time with us!
Love it.. From the Netherlands,.. so we dont really have any C4 corvettes over here. But this is what a C4 should look like in my oppinion. (Bodykit/spoiler/wheels are just awesome as a whole... it just fits.)
Love the mechanical part of repairing your cars alex, and Peter's comedy, you guy's are like peas and carrots, the way you all bounce of each other with your comedy.dig your shows man.stay cool ya'll..
Save BIG on the Armor Sheild ix Ceramic Coating kit for Black Friday! avl.kg/bf22lsc
Leave the saw wheels and the ground effects looks good !!!
Cleetus Red C6 corvette is named RUBY lol
Ordered for my F 150
KEEP THAT BODY KIT!!!!😂 it’s perfectly 90’s!
Peter has made these videos so much better! 😂 I burst into laughter watching you two guys mess around everytime now. The goofiness is contagious in this video.
What a transformation!
I hope your Lamborghini turns out to be just as good a transformation
Can't wait to see the transformation of your newest project in today's video!
Your turn to restore a "ruby" auction corvette just make sure it doesn't have a pickup engine in it.
This guy knows a transformation
Hi Freddie
The stock wheels are perfect. The ground effect kit is perfect. The spoiler is perfect. It looks just like it should; period correct for a car that has a few extras. Awesome job on all the fixes and detail!
I second that.
The stock wheels looks so ugly....
Greatest Corvette wheels ever
Those are not stock wheels on the c4, those are c6 wheels.
@@mrbluehawk2000 which ones? The chrome ones or the aluminum ones?
You and Peter have quickly turned into my two favorite RUclipsrs just from watching this series from the start. Thank you both for the time and dedication yall had towards this Vette and giving it a second chance at life.

Definetly an upgrade, more period correct look.
Perfection
Love the new wheels!! ❤
So much better!
Other wheels look cooler. Original ones really date it.
Absolutely keep it as is. I love the body kit. It's a period correct little monster. You guys did an incredible job bringing this beauty back to life.
Agreed

Leave her alone as an icon of the 90's! And of course you need to do a reunion video with Marlon! Awesome job guys!! 👍😎👍
Definitely keep the kit. It's too plain standard and it's noticeable but subtle at the same time. Love the new/old wheels on it too 👍🏻
I'd keep the ground effects kit and spoiler! It really adds depth to the car, and gives it that unique 90's look. Added with the stock wheels, it has that amazing retro feel to it. Absolutely beautiful car! Can't wait to see what you guys work on next!
Agreed. And the salad shooter wheels look much better on that body style as opposed to the C6 wheels.
Yeah they do! It really adds so much more to the car, and gives it more of that classic look!
Gordy is like #40 ;-) tellm Laya. The abnormal skirt kit is awesome
Definitely keep the body kit and stock wheels. What an amazing transformation.
That Corvette is really a gem. I'm loving this car!
This was a great project, low cost to buy, low cost to fix and fun watching the diagnosis on issues!
Good buy for Alex, but it would be a nightmare buy for amateur mechanic, lol.
This is the perfect RUclips series no I have three Lamborghinis 2 Ferraris and bla bla bla😂
Love Peter just peeking from his hiding while the car raises :D
haha good eye. it took me a replay to see myself, and I knew exactly where I was peeking out 😂

True!
There are a lot of great restoration videos on RUclips that have a wealth of information to guide you along!
Do it man, you will learn lots and save your dad's car

Father GOD, THANK YOU for YOUR LOVE. Father, I pray you FULLY heal Justin… in JESUS name AMEN
I'm pretty sure I've seen him use drill brushes on carpet before, not sure why he skipped on these.
bro i am a detailing business owner fulltime almost 2 years back is killing me, what happened with you?
🔥🔥🔥
The content from Alex & Peter is on point. My week is never complete without a little LSC! A little Home Alone humor in there.. 😂

Looks amazing!! Please keep the kit!! It's sooo 90's, makes the car stand out too. Was iffy on the sawblades but looks perfect with the after reveal and all cleaned up. Good job alex and peter :)
all period correct looks great
Keep the kit on it, it looks very cool! Excellent job getting everything dialed back in/repaired/upgraded, thank you for a cool video series!
The value of this car would go up $5k instantly if/when he removes the kit and spoiler.
Love the kit. Gives it that extra touch that makes it original.
Totally stunning transformation and keep the body kit it looks right well done Alex and Peter great work
I 100% dig the body kit. As you said, it’s period correct, from a reputable provider, not a cheap knock off. I would definitely keep it on! Good work!
THAT KIT LOOKS TRASH!!! Better 90’s vibe without it, pure and simple.
great job on this revival! im not usually a fan of body kits but this just looks so period correct i wouldn't change a thing, the new older wheels look great too.
It's beautiful as it sits after your resto. You did an amazing job and it's definitely worth a solid 15k plus now
I can't believe I have been anticipating a detail of a 25 yr old car thats already made several videos.
Kind of a fan of the c6 chromes. Leave the body kit and the spoiler. What a transformation. Amazing work.
Definitely keep it as is! That car is a perfect representation of a 90’s C4. I wouldn’t change a thing. Great find and awesome job bringing her back to life.
Once again, you and Peter have hit it out of the park. I can't believe how the car has been resurrected.
Love the wheel choice definitely fits the C4 better. The lip kit looks awesome also I would definitely leave it on
This!
You guys have outdone yourself this time, Alex&Peter ! What an amazing budget-project this is, just purely amazing. AMAZING
And love the look of the bodykit with the stock wheels, the car is a stunning LEGIT STREET CAR :)
What a transformation. The Dynamic Duo working their magic as usual. Great job guys.
You should definitely keep the body kit! It fits perfectly on the car. But you should also fix the automatic antenna and show how to flip it in one of your videos. I‘d really love to see how this works, b/c I need to exchange mine as well 😉
Keep up the good work!
Cheers from Germany and Happy Thanksgiving!
Body kit reminds me of the Callaway vette, looks great.
That "sit back, relax and enjoy the show" really spoke to me
Really enjoyed watching this series. Personally I’d prefer no ground effects. However I also recall wanting a Vette with them when I was a teen.
I see both sides of it.
These projects you do and how you present them, is why I watch RUclips. Love your channel. Happy Thanksgiving to you guys and your families. 😊👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
Do not take off the GE kit. Looks spectactular. Good job to both ofnyou
Beautiful transformation. I love the wheels! Would like to see it without the kit, but at the same time it goes so well with the history of the car
This car is absolutely beautiful ! Paint, kit, wheels, it's a jewel! I love it! Congratulations!
Great job and thats a fantastic car. The only thing I'd change are those exhaust tips. I think a double square tip suits better with the shape of the car and the body kit. Btw, this body kit looks a little like the callaway body kit, and that was astonishing.
Love the wheels and please don’t take off the ground fx it’s gorgeous
It looks great! The last step I think should be a replacement targa top. Keep the ground effects kit, gives it a unique profile.
Back in the days my father had a Lincoln Mark VII LSC edition. Turns out Lincoln knew your channel before it existed. 😃
I think the kit looks nice, matches nicely. Car is looking pretty great after the detail.
I hope you can find a targa top. Are they all clear? I don’t think it would matter if it was solid color because it would look good painted gloss black with the back hatch window with new black limo tint. It would flow together nicely.
Awesome results!
The car is gorgeous!
Leave it as is!
This C4 project was infinitely more interesting than your euro car content. You should keep doing these!!! Love em.
Leave it alone ! The kit makes the c4 NOT look ugly. The body kit is beautiful and makes the c4 corvette look amazing.
For an ex-Mercedes Benz, shop mechanic...NOT a BAD wash and vac. Almost a TRUE detail 👀💯👍
Stock wheels look SO much better. What a transformation!!
Sitting in my lounge in Mozambique and really enjoying all these videos of the C4 transformation. Love it!
I like that FF rollout at the end!
For some reason this project feels like the spiritual inspiration for you to take on a Porsche 928
Awesome job guys! The wheels it came with were actually C6 wheels. I’ve never liked them on the C4, but the 93 40th anniversary had the sawblades & ruby red center caps.
Viva la 90’s gents, bravo 😎👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Watching you guys do this car, it brought back memories of my family and I visiting the plant when they were producing the 1993 Corvette. We took an assembly line tour and I was picked to start a 40th at the end of the production line.. how cool if this was that 40th!
Man…you guys have worked your ass off on this vehicle and the results show! So refreshing to see professionals @ work. Keep the videos popping, stay safe and rock on gentlemen!
Keep the kit, looks nice and the NEW rims really pop. You guys made this thing look almost new, good job
Awesome job the older cars are something you can appreciate the craftsmanship and quality put into them also are a part of history I'm glad you bought that and gave it new life I would hold onto that forever that car is definitely a rare gem!!!!
Car looks perfect. Saw blade wheels rock 🤘🏼
I'm blown away by how incredible that turned out... WOW!! 😎
The color is beautiful, the spoiler looks perfect, and wheels are the cherry on top.
Great job bringing her back to life. Keep the ground effects. She looks awesome how she sits.
LOVE THE STOCK WHEELS , LOVE THE PROGRAM, ITS ALL GOOD , GREAT TO SEE PETER ON THE PROGRAM HAVE A GREAT DAYS DETAILING ...NEIL BARNES
Love it.. From the Netherlands,.. so we dont really have any C4 corvettes over here. But this is what a C4 should look like in my oppinion. (Bodykit/spoiler/wheels are just awesome as a whole... it just fits.)
Love the dynamic duo of Alex and Peter
Love the mechanical part of repairing your cars alex, and Peter's comedy, you guy's are like peas and carrots, the way you all bounce of each other with your comedy.dig your shows man.stay cool ya'll..
