Great stuff. Over the summer, my wife's friend let me pick through whatever I wanted from her dad's childhood collection from the 70s and take whatever I wanted, for free. The best card was a Sweetness rookie. It ended up grading an SGC 4.5. BUT, I don't really collect much football, so I used it in a trade to get an Eddie Collins card from our guy Matt from Providence instead. So I did briefly have one of these cards!
Racing seems to be finding its audience more and more within the last few years, the Petty is cool to see. Something I thought of while watching-Were there any athletes you wanted to include on this list but they didn’t have any cards or were too rare?
I’m really not sure how to handle you saying that Petty is tied with Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson with seven titles. Boy Wonder (Gordon) didn’t come close, he only had four. My man DALE EARNHARDT had seven.
Got back into cards this year and forgot Ibhad boughtba Walter Payton rookie. Sent it in for grading and it came back an SGC 5. Since I was getting back into selking, I listed it and a number of other iconic cards I had. I can actually buy it back for a little less now. I will get one again, but for now, I am enjoying getting cards I have never had before. Thanks again for taking the time to do these episodes. Appreciate your insight.
I picked up the Payton Rookie in a PSA 7 this past summer from a local LCS on my trip to Cooperstown. I know buying a football card while visiting the baseball hall of fame is funny I guess but I’ve wanted that card for years! Plus I couldn’t find a Nolan Ryan rookie on my trip! Sweetness is the greatest running back of all time imho.
Love this list. Of course I have the 1972 STP Richard Petty card. My son has the Walter Payton rookie so two out of five isn’t bad. BTW, it is Dale Earnhardt Sr and Jimmie Johnson who are tied with Richard Petty with seven NASCAR Cup championships. Great job on the list!
This is a fun eclectic list. I like the George Foreman. Not sure if my facts are right, but from my understanding George Foreman lost millions of dollars in several ways. A combination of bad investments and trusting the wrong people, but he made, so much money from those Foreman Grills. My grandparents had one.
Another great video . I’m a big fan of the Panini stickers . I do have the Bob Beamon sticker , goes great with my Jesse Owens collection . Will have to look into the George Foreman . Keep em coming !
I hope to find one of those STP Richard Petty cards out in the “wild” sometime at a decent price. Nice list of cards today, Mike. More to be on the lookout for.
Any thoughts on these 5?
Yessss...I'm so glad to see King Richard make his appearance on your list. The STP card is actually one i had never heard of before. Good stuff, Mike!
@@Virginianative1968 awesome!
This is a grail card on most racing card collectors list😍

Great question! Yes, for sure. I talked about it a bit in the intro video but I’ll cover it again at some point later.

The only one on my own wantlist is the Sweetness RC. It's a great overall looking card.
@@Bostnfn it is!
DALE EARNHARDT and Jimmy Johnson, not Jeff Gordon,

I use to have a cello pack with Walte Peyton on the front, GAI 8 but sold in auction many years ago for too little.

Just a suggestion on your bookshelf. Maybe put the horizontal cards as bookends on each side. Would be a little more eye pleasing.

Good luck, Ken!
Payton was amazing. Should have tossed in there the fact that he took ballet lessons. I have his rookie in a PSA 9.
Nice!
Great vid, Mike! Audio sounds fine, btw.

Good to hear! Thanks Richard!
Did your lovely wife hide the Payton Rookie?
