The Pacquiao v Bradley (1st fight) decision was the one that was so blatantly corrupt, that from that moment I couldn't take boxing in Vegas seriously. Most corruption in Boxing happens there.

The thing I always hated about fighting sports like boxing and MMA is the competitors have a choice who they fight way to often. Whatever organization you're contacted or fighting for should be who determines who fights who. Look at Sugar Ray Leonard wouldn't fight Marvin Hagler until he was older and slower same with Mayweather and Pacquiao should have fought at least 7 or 8 years earlier. Roger Federer doesn't say he won't play Raphael Nadal, the Yankees don't say they won't play the Mets in a world series if that's the two teams in the world series, the Knicks won't say they won't play the Celtics. If you're a mechanic for Ford you don't tell your boss you won't work on a mustangs or a Chevy mechanic says they won't work on a Camaro. So fighters shouldn't have the choice who they fight the organization should tell the fighters who they fight.

I understand why people can't get into boxing. It's so nakedly corrupt. Seeing the viewership numbers dwindle breaks my heart because I love boxing. Always have. Grew up watching old fights on ESPN Classic. Friday Night Fights was always a favorite of mine when I was in high school since it would start my weekend. But I understand. Teddy Atlas spiting truth like this makes me feel a bit better, but it also hurts to know that even though these are open secrets, precisely nothing will change. And you'd think the alphabet organizations would change because their lunch is getting eaten by MMA. But they won't.
It happens so often too. I've been a boxing fan for like 30 years and you just have to laugh sometimes at the scorecards. I mean seriously delusion scores and then the avg dopes watching it will actually agree lol. I've actually laughed at least a dozen times after fights when the scores were read.
@Josh Compton I don't think it's the corruption ruining it - I think it's the lack of accesability for the average person who may actually enjoy it. The average sports watching guy who may enjoy boxing casually like a bunch of other sports isn't going to go out his way to pay the absurd prices - especially when he can probably see a lower quality replay on youtube later. Honestly I like MMA, but boxing tends to be more entertaining on a more consistent level. It still should be bigger but it's never seen by the average person because it's made too inaccesable.
I stopped paying to watch boxing when Leonard obviously lost to Hagler but won the decision. Later I saw a heavyweight fight where the favorite who was taking a fight as a warm up received a bad cut above his left eye and could not see the underdog never threw another right to the head for the rest of the fight. The announcers were even saying "He would never see an overhand right coming he could end this if he would let one go" Boxing is like pro-wrestling I am glad I never bet on either.
I left the sport, after several decades of love, after the two GGG/canelo fights. I just had it. Pac losing to Bradley, Mayweather robbing Castillo, the robbing of Arguello against pryor and about 8000 more if I thought about it. Just done with it.

It caused me to literally re-think my life, walk away from a lot of money and start a new career.
So while I think your sentiment and heart is in the right place, I don't think we should judge people in a guilt by association 30 years ago. All his fighters love him, that's not an accident. Also I agree entirely that prize-fighters, especially in MMA and lower tiers of boxing (at least here in the states) are grossly underpaid.
My point was that he's telling the truth now, not a judge of past character.
You're all going to the guillotine in 2025. As a Mason I advise you to get ready.
1.) Trump boasted the largest inauguration crowd ever. Period
2.) Trump will release his tax returns as soon as the supposed “routine audit” into his finances is complete.
3.) Trump isn’t for cutting taxes for the rich
4.) We are going to repeal and replace Obamacare “quickly,” easily, on “day one.”LOL.
5.) eliminate ISIS
6.) Build a wall.. Mexico will pay....
lots of truth there...
Soooo many more ways a fight can end in mma compared to boxing and that's why it's more entertaining facts
He sounds like Christopher Walken.
Part of the reason people ignore corruption in boxing...is because boxing has a long history of being corrupt...it has never been clean.
ChicagoTRS I don’t watch boxing I’ve chosen to ignore boxing not the corruption I watch MMA only
Its allowed too many inner city blacks
Jackie Moon lol mma worse than boxing? GTFOH
@@ColtonGrundy I'd say most mma fights are hard to dispute, submissions, with small gloves more knockouts ect but aint NO doubt the scoring is 100% bias. 9/10 the cash cow wins a decision. Alexander vs jon jones for example.
Tbh I even see it in the amateurs when I compete never happened to me but have seen it happen to and for people and it’s not even a money thing it’s just preferences in order to create a select outcome within a tournament, even at the ABA’s!
This is why i don't watch boxing
Could listen to these two alldayv
Teddy has BIG balls
I watched the live stream and was a very good watch indeed, also very emotional at times on Teddy's behalf. Boy did he love he's father.
If only boxing was more on the up & up like pro wrestling
The LAST Boxing match i ever watched was several years ago, a middle weight championship belt- the loser won - got knocked down repeatedly and took a beating the ENTIRE FIGHT !
Teddy was there and confronted the Judges + Commission on Live T.V. and said " This is Everything That Is Wrong With Boxing " etc...
He has BALL'S! Like him alot- but DONE with boxing.
I love boxing. Hate the corruption if it wasn't want for Teddy Atlas truth saying I would have given up on the sport.
Pacman VS Horn
Mayweather Castillo 1
Bullshit winners
My Man Teddy .... RNFL
Great seeing a guy I respect repping The Nation.
getting some good podcasts on lately Joe
I could listen to Teddy all day.
I left the sport, after several decades of love, after the two GGG/canelo fights. I just had it. Pac losing to Bradley, Mayweather robbing Castillo, the robbing of Arguello against pryor and about 8000 more if I thought about it. Just done with it.
Don't forget Whitsker vs Chavez and Lewis vs Holyfield 1
@@NoName-gv6nm For sure. No way a guy could name them all. And I'm not talking about decisions that I disagree with. I mean the ones that were so obvious. But you're right. Those two deserve to be mentioned.
Its so frustrating
@@luchko3936 For too long.
Teddy told Horn "you lost " after he robbed Pacquiao.
I'd rather watch WWE than boxing. At least in WWE there's occasionally an unknown outcome and any "corruption" is just part of the storyline
I've noticed the lack of white male boxer's in America , this is by design in race baiting etc America . Look at all the robberies against White's in boxing in corrupt America and they don't even hide anymore .
