    Ill say it since Teddy was being courteous... so the jabs counted for Mayweather but not for GGG? Double standards eh? Teddy is correct 100%

    • @GGtheRealest
      @GGtheRealest 5 лет назад +265

      Mayweather wasn't being slapped around with combinations in both hands and never had his right hand taken away from him. Mayweather with his defense could shut you down and simplify your fight strategy. while all this is happening he's hitting a jab, little combination, couple counters, pot shotting, making you miss, etc. Watch mayweather's fights. Watch Mayweather fight Canelo actually. Mayweather did GGG's game 1 million times better, but you'd give that fight to ggg on the merit that he had more jabs landed like its the basketball arcade game at Chucki Cheese. Canelo dominated

    I met Teddy personally in a beach town one time. It was an amazing experience. I always admired his opinion me being a life long boxing fan. I was working at Verizon one day and heard the unmistakable voice of Teddy Atlas to my left. I turned around and there he was talking to his friend. I said, “Are you Teddy?” Before I could finish he said, “Atlas.” He was such a humble man. We talked a little boxing. When he shook my hand before leaving, it was like shaking a hand of steel. He wasn’t flexing at all. This guy is the real thing, no joke. You just automatically feel naturally comfortable around this guy when talking to him. He is such a genuinely nice guy.

      @Alfred Stanback I think Canelo lost the first ggg fight, but definitely won the second. He’s defeated Daniel Jacobs and Callum Smith who was arguably the best super middleweight at the time. He then defeated an out of his prime kovalev, who was still regarded as the best LHW at the time. I’m not a big Canelo fan, but dang is it hard to argue against his recent accomplishments. Now he’s preparing to fight Saunders. If Canelo wins this, the only person he has left to fight is Beterbiev or however you spell his name. Andrade and Charlo should both fight it out, they both have been avoiding any real competition hoping Canelo looks their way.

    I agree with Teddy, I thought GGG won both fights. But the second fight was very close, and 117-112 for GGG is a bit wide. He’s right, that judges award “aggression” too much, and for me much of the fight Canelo was in affective. I had it 116-114 for GGG and that was being generous to Canelo

      And you can see the double standard s again, first fight GGG was the agresor and punching cheatnello through the ring and it's a draw,second fight cheatnello landed a couple shot's,he is in their eyes clearly the agresor and won the fight. By far Teddy deserves a lot of RESPECT because he has openly called out the injustices done to fighters. He makes it a point to address things on the spot. He has called the sport of Boxing out for being bias and unfair. He loves the fighters and what they sacrifice to get where they are. He doesn’t back promoters and the social aspect of selling a fight. He sees the sport for what the fighters put in and do in the ring. Joe, I’ve become a big fan of yours over the years. I appreciate your eye on more than just sports. I loved the 2nd fight greatly. I did not appreciate the unprofessionalism GGG showed by leaving the ring but I also am not GGG and I don’t know the emotions he was feeling at that very moment when losing the fight so I can not appreciate it but I can not condemn him for it. Real people have real emotions and this sport has a huge toll on fighters mentally as well as physically. Great job by both fighters. I’ve watched the fight 4 times and loved it every time. We couldn’t have asked for a more action packed fight.

    • @traviscarver4708
      @traviscarver4708 2 года назад +4

      Imagine being robbed in the first fight. No one can honestly say that was a draw by any standard. And then the second fight, which GGG definitely did enough to win that fight, gets robbed a second time. I’d you want to say the second fight was a draw I’d be fine with that. But Canelo did not win either of those fights and 100% lost the first one.

Sure he didn’t walk them down but real boxers do whatever it takes to win, if Mayweather made a career out of winning using jabs and landing soft punches then GGG definitely won the second fight too. Also the “natural 160” comment is a bs excuse because canelo always fought smaller opponents at 155 and only went up 5 pounds for this fight with a clause for GGG so that he couldn’t weigh more than 160 even on fight night, and canelo was visibly the fuller more muscular framed fighter (who has even fought at 175). I thought GGG won 115-113. I could have even seen judges score it 116-112, simply because canelo was eating shots straight up the middle the entire fight, like he didn't know he could block or evade them. I honestly think they counted shots by canelo that GGG actually blocked.
    When the fight was over and they were waiting for the scores, I did think GGG was gonna get screwed, however, I thought it was gonna be a draw screw job, like the first fight. My head almost exploded when they said canelo won.
    Canelo had his eyebrow split open early, and GGG only got that cut late in the fight because they accidentally bumped heads. For almost the entire fight I was literally watching it and saying out loud "OH MY GOD, Canelo is eating shots right up the middle, and just stands there.". I honestly felt sympathy pains for him, because he was getting tattooed right up the pipe, and non stop. That's why the cut over his fucking eye got split open that wide. That was like Mike Tyson's eye during the fight where he bit holyfield's ear, except canelos cut was from punches, and Tyson's was from constant on purpose headbutts by holyfield.
    I think if they fight again, it needs to be over seas, and they need to use judges that normally don't score Vegas fights. I'm pretty sure the judges scored this fight based on bias because Canelo fights in vegas a lot. Also, just in case no one knows this, a jab is supposed to count exactly the same as a power shot, when you're scoring a round. The only time you're supposed to give an edge to the power shots is if you totally dominate a round, and the other guy doesn't really do shit. Otherwise, if one guy lands 20 jabs and 5 power shots and the other lands 15 power shots and 5 jabs, the guy that landed more punches (the guy with 20 jabs landed) should be given the round. That's how fights are SUPPOSED to be scored. Judges now days not only have a bias towards certain fighters, they also let the crowds cheering influence their opinion on the rounds.

      I Wanna Talk To Sampson lmao u clowning? Triple g was getting fucked up backing up the whole fight after claiming Canelo a runner and not a true Mexican style fighter and his face looked way worst than Canelo’s simple cut on his eye. At the end they cleaned both of them up and than around time to decide the fight GGG’s cut still opened up 😂😂😂🚫🧢. Canelo ate everything and kept walking ya gave credit for GGG for being the aggressor the 1st fight but nobody wants to credit Canelo when he does it. The other thing I can say abt this fight is GGG’s mistakes in the 1st fight he was suppose to come back and fix for this fight to show us he was the better fighter was to actually go to the body this time because last time he only had 8 body shots like come on that’s not even 1/ round that’s laughable for a champion of his caliber. But instead of stepping up in that category he decidedly to go to the body 6 times this time like wtf. Come on man the 1st time it was easier to go there because he is laying on the ropes for u not running he is doing the rope a dope that Ali did. But he respected Canelo’s countering which he should but after eating all of his best punches the 1st fight which both fighters did really well he should of been more confident and attacked Canelo gave us like 50 plus body shots each fight showing consistency and versatility and he also had to work on not backing up like he did the 1st fight his stamina problem which he clearly did backing GGG up which that was the main reason ya said he won the 1st fight he was aggressive and he landed the jab all night that’s it tho jabs don’t win u a fight and btw saying jabs count the same as a power shot tells me your not the sharpest if that’s the case find someone around your weigh and allow them to give u their best power shot and u can Jab them and let’s see who walks away the most satisfied in that trade I would say come to me but I doubt u live in MN 😂😂 every one has power shots more than jabs it’s simple boxing . I wouldn't score a good body punch higher than jabs. If the clean body punches don't gas out the opponent then it wasn't that good of a hit. Now I could easily see g getting tired but he tanked that shit so good , once it got to the later rounds he was still throwing and then canelo was getting tired, so second fight was easily a tie leaning toward triple G slightly

    RE: Pacquiao claiming that his arm or whatever was injured prior to the Mayweather fight.
    What I don't understand is that, all throughout history, major championship fights have been postponed due to injury. I stopped following boxing after the mid 1990's, however, I know that George Foreman vs. Muhammad Ali (which was HUGE at the time), was postponed due to Foreman sustaining a cut during sparring. The second Ali vs. Liston fight was postponed due to Ali's hernia. I am 88% sure that Holyfield vs Tyson was postponed from its original fight date in 1991 or 1992, due to an injury, and then Tyson going to jail.
    Point being...…………...if it's THE biggest fight of your career, and you don't feel close enough to 100%, postpone the fight! It would not be the 10th time that a championship fight was postponed.
    Either call for a postponement OR DON'T mention your injury.
    "Yeah, well I could've fought better if I hadn't torn my rotator cuff last month."
    Oh yeah, you were injured? How about giving the PPV buyers 50% of their money back.

Conversely, if it were a new jack, just starting out, with $300 in his bank account, who had been fighting for 4 years for 5-figure purses, THEN, I could overstand money being the main concern.
