Max is no joke when it comes to Boxing. He's like a genius or something.
@AS J, well that IS his job. He's got to be both neutral 😐 & unbiased. Must be hard though. I've got GGG winning both fights personally but that's just my opinion. Happy New Year bro.💯
@@waynedunkley655 that's not even his job though. His job is to be a generalist as far as sports go.
I don’t like mayweather , but I agreed when mayweather said you got guys that never stepped in a ring that now are boxing experts based on VHS videos
@@ZahidKhan-vy8yu Ive fought for years but I will say I think you can learn a lot about fighting (mma or boxing) from watching it for years if you study it correctly. I think he’s so passionate about it because his brother was murder by a professional boxer. (Sam Kellerman)
Kellerman knows more about boxing than Stephen A. Smith and every single person in this comment section.

Finally a fight where they didn’t hug each other every 10 seconds. Props to both of them, great fight
Yup canelo won

The majority of fights aren't 'stick and move' or hugfests.

We know GGG won the first fight, this one was close to a draw, but with all the corruption in boxing how are you going to see it other than corrupt
@Steven Valdez he evaded the punches
GGG landed a ton more jabs and kept backing him up for 12 rounds

@@hammadhasan1966 ggg took unnecessary shots Yes he was blocking but When you throw multiple combinations is going to be hard for you to Block those Specially when throw 1 or 2 punches at the same time you're not gonna win a fight like that and when he throws multiple combinations he gets countered that's what I saw in the 1st fight that's why I had it for Canelo for both fights
I've changed my stance on this. I had GGG in the 1st fight of course. 2nd fight I wasnt mad Canelo got the nod. I had it a draw. Wasnt mad b/c Canelo looked better and was aggressive. But I change my stance. And I never really agree w/ Andre Ward. But yes agression wins fights, but not if you only won the first half of the fight. In all of boxing I've watched, the guy who's better and wins the second half of the fight, ESPECIALLY, the final round, that guys is usually the winner. Because of that, GGG was a tad more deserving. But a draw is more realistic and that couldn't really be argued.
canelo won that 12th round cmon, g won rounds 10 and 11 tho
This is one of those times where I hate being right. I said it before, if GGG doesn't knock out Canelo, they'll rob him of his victory.
Yeah that’s definitely the case with a lot of fights
So you're saying ggg sucks. OK sore loser
@@edwincastillo8280 How, exactly, did he say GGG sucks?
You could see it coming a mile away. If Canelo was standing on his feet at the end they were gonna give him the fight.
GGG's biggest mistake in this fight was not going to Canelo's body. It's no secret that Canelo has stamina issues and I just don't understand the headhunting tactic. Kill the body, the head will follow. I remember when GGG was steam rolling guys because he was mixing his attack up between body and head and he's just abandoned that.
Bryan Lee cause he didn’t want to get lit up by Canelo’s counters and leave himself open upstairs
Facts!!!
Good point! Ggg showed too much respect towards Canelo unlike the first fight where he was the aggressor!

I’m back 2 years later, I’ve watched both fights over 10 times completely, GGG won the 1st one, the second one was an actual draw.
😭😭🤡
First fight A draw. 2nd fight canelo. 8-4 easy
I just finished watching it and canelo clearly won
😂😂 GGG2 fought on the backfoot 90% of the fight. Never found his rhythm nor controlled the ring until it was too late. Canelo brought the fight and GGG (supposedly mexican style bogeyman) retreated. Jabs here and there alone and a lower landing punch percentage don't win you championship belts gtfoh.
I thought canelo edged it live but the more I rewatch it the more I think ggg won both, either way the 2nd wasn't a robbery like the first
I would love to see a 30 minute debate about this fight
So basically Max is saying that when you fight Canelo, you also fight the judges. Sad but true.
@Ed R.- #POLITICS.
Andrew Jackson aswell when you fight Mayweather
Please. The fight was extremely balanced and close. In a fight like that, it can go both ways.
That being said, in boxing, the judges almost always go with the aggressor.
thats boxing for ya
mayweather whooped canelos ass all 12 rounds and a judge still gave a draw for canelo... tf 😤🤔
I had canelo taking it. Super close fight tho. Definitely not a robbery tho.
not a robbery. first fight was a robbery. 118-110? everyone knew ggg wasnt gonna get the decision
I agree, Canelo came forward pressed the action and executed an insane body attack...
STR8 UP!
GGG won that first fight and won this one. They need to fight at the Barclays instead of Vegas. Too much homeroom cooking in my opinion.
Of course the 3 champs want Canelo to win. It will be an easier fight for them.
I would love to see a third fight. I don't care who wins, these two fights were spectacular!
We’ll you’ll see it this September
GGG utilized the jab to counter the hand speed of Canelo. Canelo was faster with his hands, but did not have the power of GGG. GGG is older, so his facial tissue is not going to hold up as well as Canelos. GGG , without question won the 1st fight by 7 rounds and the the 2nd 2.
Ggg won the first fight but this was a draw
GGG won the first fight but lost this one.
No the first one was a draw and Canelo clearly won this one. Canelo had the more power punches which are valued higher than the jab, Canelo had better defense, was the ring general, and aggressor for most if the fight.

There isn't a single close boxing fight where fans don't complain about the result. This pretty much sums up boxing nowadays.
GGG needs to move up in weigh. I wanna see a GGG vs Andre Ward fight.

No way, Triple G opened the 12th round by landing a big shot but then proceeded to back up the entire round; and clinched any time Canelo got in close. In fact, Canelo even called him out and asked him to go toe to toe.
In the 12th round of a close fight, Triple G ran and clinched when he needed to close the show.
That's two times in a row where Triple G cannot close the show. Canelo deserved this one, just like most pros believe....
Did Canelo close the show?
@@steakkidneypie767 of course he did, and that's why two of three judges gave him the final round.
Golovkin was more interested in running away and clinching. Had he decided to stand his ground and fight like his trainer asked of him, he may have salvaged a draw.
@John Smith clentbuterol is not a steroid.
Migg C Exactly that’s why I gave Canelo the 12th
Running away? Lmao when did GGG have his back to the ropes? He circled Nelo, that ain't running. Maintaining distance with a jab isn't running.
GGG fought like a champion of old, such an amazing fight..And in our era,to witness it, is a true privilege.
my biggest thing is if coming forward and being the "aggressor" won him the fight why didn't ggg win the first fight when the tide were switched cannelo landed less and throw less that fight backing up than ggg did this second fight but loss? something doesn't add up

Love it, this 2 guys are awesome 👍🏽
It’s 2021 and to this day I’m pissed at the way that fight was judged
3G put nothing but pressure on Canelo in the first fight and earns a draw . Canelo puts on pressure and he wins ? G won both fights and robbed in both fights . The better champion lost and so did the sport of boxing . Smmfh
canelo chose to fight with that strategy no one forced him lol. he invited ggg to the ropes like floyd did in some of his fights
You must be crazy if you think the unaccurate punches of GGG won EITHER fight. Its debatable whether GGG connected enough accurate punches to win the fight, Canelo made him miss all night, and outboxed him, just enough to squeeze the draw. But the second fight is out of the question, Canelo won clearly
I honestly thought Canelo deserved to win and I was rooting for GGG.....Canelo was the ring general and was more aggressive and really beat GGG's ass....GGG did NOT beat up Canelo the way Canelo beat him up. Really GREAT and CLOSE fight. Was not disappointed at all.
false. GGG actually hurt Canelo- Canelo never HURT GGG, once, in either fight.
Canelo didn’t hurt him right ? That’s why GGG didn’t have any scratches or anything in his face right ?
supernice_auto lmao did you not see the fighters after the fight? GGG’s face was more fucked than Canelo’s.
GGG is almost 37 years old- not to mention some fighters bruise/cut easier than others- anyone that's not a moron knows that.
Yes Canelo got wobbled- that's what I'm saying- not sure if you're meaning to reply to someone else? lol
It’s like they say in order to win against the world champion when your the challenger you need to put in more effort to get the win so win in a more convincingly fashion

The third fight can't be in Vegas
He wanted Mexican style and couldn't handle it
You ain't beating De La Corruption's Mexican Star on September 15th via decision, lol.
what happened to you gotta take the belt from the champion?
Yall dont know squat damage dont mean nothing, triple g blocked all those punches with his face being battered and bloody was his gameplan he used his face to block the power punches thats a true art what a robbery
Edgar Lopez ggg face looked beat up vs Willie Monroe. He's European they always look fucked after a fight. He was blocking a lot of those punches with boxing movement

GGG almost knocked Canelos head off 3 times with uppercuts, badly hurt him in the 10th & 11th rounds what the boxing world calls it the championship rounds. He took all the younger boxers body shots and came back to beat his ass and still didn't win on any of the 3 scorecards???? Corruption has robbed this great undefeated model champ of 2 victories. Why wouldn't Stephen A want to see them fight again? Regardless of whether or not you agree with the decision, this was legit boxing; 12 rounds of top rated boxing. I guess he'd rather watch Floyd on his bicycle for 12 rounds.
Canelo won the last round. What fight did you watch? 12th Round was the only round Canelo won in the last four rounds. Even GGG trainer said GGG loss because of the 12th round. He said GGG basically gave that round away. He tried to throw with Canelo but Canelo made him miss almost every punch that round.
yea max is way off on that one.
GGG missed a lot in the last round - Canelo put his soul into that fight. He was legendary - you couldn’t knock Canelo out with a baseball bat in that fight.
I saw GGG land a hard left hook, several hard jabs, and a 3 brutal uppercuts in that round. They gave it to canelo cause ggg started moving at the end and then Canelo landed a hook that bloodied GGGs face
wat did u watch😂 dumb fuker he told him he lossed that one in tge middle rounds chill lad
GGG won the last round you high AF
I had GGG winning 115-113. This fight was far closer than the first- I had GGG winning 116-112 if I remember correctly. I honestly wouldn't have a problem w/ Canelo getting this decision if GGG got the decision in the first fight.
Max "I thought Triple G won"... True words
Score the fight again while its played in slow motion so people don't get caught up in the excitement and misjudged the results and their judgement is thrown off !
Max changing his tune since Sat. Was cheerleading Canelo the whole fight. Draw would have been ok
In every other place the champion keeps his belts in a very close fight except vegas. "They go with the Money" Teddy Atlas
It's true canelo did fight better but not enough too be the champ
WHEN its close fight winner should always be the champ its a joke !!!!!
I had never seen GGG backing up a whole fight like he did with Canelo. Plain and simple. Abel asked Canelo to fight toe to toe and they (GGG's team) didn't do it, there for the victory was for Canelo. Don't get me wrong, i think GGG did an outstanding performance but that was their mistake.
should be closed circuit tv no audio and a min to score between round and have to explain why after and instant replay between rounds if they are not sur what landed
I had GGG 115 - 113. But it was a very close fight.
My score as well, close but I thought GGG won it
If the first fight was scored a draw, where GGG won at least 7 to 5 rounds in mine and most experts' (not aligned with GB) opinions - then there was no way on earth the judges would give GGG a draw nevermind a win this time around - after a vastly improved performance by Canelo.
GGG didn't fight "Mexican" style, but he never backed himself onto the ropes. He was fighting Canelo off angles. He didn't run. They were constantly within punching range, no one backed off, Canelo just was blatantly in-your-face while GGG was in range but never in one place.
I feel like 3G beat Canelo at his own game(slick mid-range boxing, not brawling) and Canelo beat 3G at his own game( so called Mexican style, which was just a gimmick by 3G to gain fans in America).
The decision wasn't really a robbery, but I feel that the challenger must comprehensively beat the champion,ie, a solid KO/TKO or a wide UD. Such close calls should not transfer the championship.
But hey, Canelo won the "story of the fight" according to Max, whatever the fuck that means.
Don't forget that Canelo was also the smaller fighter moving up to GGG's natural weight 160lbs. Because GGG has never fought outside 160lbs with the Pro's, he's too scared to move up or down! A real Champion like Canelo moves up or down in weight because that is what a real Champion could do!
Story of the fight is similar to the momentum, you saying a challenger must comprehensively beat a champion is why Canelo is what he is. The scorecards should not be biased regardless of the fighters position. As a judge all you should see are punches that are thrown, land and are effective not to recognize champions.

Crawford had TG winning by 4 rounds.
Crawford is quite possibly one of, if not the best fighter on the planet right now.
I had it 115-113 in favour of TG, the very best I could give Canelo was the draw.
There is definitely a case for Canelo being 2 rounds up by the 7th, but from there on in TG rallied like a champion and rocked Canelo in the late rounds.
It should've been a draw.
The 12th round was definitely Golovkin's yet 2 of the 3 judges gave it to Canelo....... dafuq outta here 🤣🤣
He fought a better fight granted, but Golovkin still out threw and outlanded his supposed younger and superior opponent.
Bullshittery.
Golovkin 2 and 0 against Canelo 👍
It's Nothing Personal. I do admit Crawford is one of the best. But what about Andre Ward or Mikey Garcia who both said that Canelo clearly won. GGG is one hell of a fighter, but I do believe Canelo won the 2nd fight. Canelo just looked better in every aspect. His defense, counter punching, power shots etc. was just beautiful and dominant.

I watch a fair amount of boxing but really having trouble understanding how the scorecards came out the way they did... Max and some of the other analysts talk about “power” punches and “damaging” shots but other than ggg being a little gassed halfway from throwing a ton of punches and taking some body blows when was he ever damaged? When canelo started bleeding ggg pounced on it and rocked him. Canelo was wobbly 3 times and persevered yes but there was never a time I thought ggg was gonna hit the canvas either. Would have liked to hear them announce a draw cuz it was great to watch and seemed pretty even. *disclaimer* I’m not a canelo hater or ggg dickrider but I don’t think canelo did enough to take the title away without scoring a knockdown. Would love to see them battle again next summer or sooner
You 🤡! Canelo was never hurt. If you mean the 10 rd were ggg hit him with a good overhand right (I believe) then threw like 14 shots after, then no you're wrong. Watch it, he evades all but like 2 then begins to come forward & he absolutely not on wobbly legs as he continues to walk ggg down! Damage the cut on Canelo's left eye was the only real damage to his face, but ggg face is busted up in all sorts of places including a cut to his right eye which bled alot. Golovkin won 115-113...Canelo took alot of shots and missed alot. GGGs defense was underrated in this fight. Alot of Canelos bodywork hit elbows. Canelo took some hard ass uppercuts and right hands...and GGGs jab kept rocking his head back. Just because he walked forward this time doesnt mean that he won the fight!
So by that logic canelo should have won the first fight because canelo was making GGG miss.
Canelo has the higher contact percentage on his punches tho??
Danny west coast I was seriously about to write the exact same thing
Oh yeah he definitely made him miss look at his face 😂😂
you are talking about ggg making Canelo miss shots yet Canelo had a higher connect percentage lol keep crying
This was a great fight, and a close fight. But I thought Canelo clearly won a close fight. I gave him 7 or 8 rounds, and the commentators were very biased on HBO. Canelo was being hit with jabs, but he was countering with hard power punches and body punches that slowed down Golovkin and took away his power. That was effective aggression, accurate punches, and good ring generalship.
GGG age: 36. Canelo age: 28. That about says it. Even if GGG beat him bad , they would score it a draw cause they want the only loss on his record to be is Mayweathers. anyone who doubts this is a plain fool. politics always been involved in boxing.
Funny you Say age when mayweather face canelo he was 40+ years old and outtruck canelo
Shit, canelo did not win a single round against Floyd and you see how one of the judges scored that fight lol.
Floyd is the anomaly. He always stayed in shape and barely took any punishment in his career. Look at Roy Jones Jr. He was practically untouchable until he got KO'd and from that day on he was a shell of his former self, getting knocked out regularly. So sometimes even without taking punishment you still age rapidly once you hit mid 30s.
I completely agree
I completely disagree
Max is correct in his assessment..
Triple G definitely won the first fight and it was easily a draw in the second fight but all that aside I think today, with Conelo's continued improvement, I would be inclined to favor him with maybe even a stoppage.. Would be a good fight to see no doubt....

Stephen A doesnt know anything about boxing lol
Roberto dimas he needs to stick to NFL and NBA
he literally watches 1 fight a year and he's supposed to be a boxing analyst for espn Lmfao I bet if you ask him non casual simple boxing questions about current events for example who are the 130lb and 140lb WBC champions right now, he won't have a clue, what an idiot
He and Teddy Atlas both made the exact same point. And Teddy definitely knows his boxing
@@JoseVera20 how is he an idiot if he doesn't know boxing fool lmao
@@7601jrod he barely knows anything about those sports either 😂
When out of 18 media outlets covering the fight 10 have ggg winning and only 1 has canelo, when about 80% of the ppl agree that ggg won BOTH fights, when common sense dictates that the guy landing the most leather on the other guy wins, why we still debate it!?ggg won but theres an agenda
Again another idiot. You heard what Stephen A Smith said?? He was corner buy top professional boxers undefeated boxers who said Canelo won. Obviously the media and people like you don’t know shit about boxing.
What about when actual boxers who box for a living say Canelo won I rather take there opinion than the opinion of people who have never boxed before
@@ogfromdallas8635 theyre talking about these fights as it if was clear as day that golovkin dominated for 10+ rounds, when nothing is further from the truth. Both fights were extremely close imo.
this aint the amateurs pal, theres more to scoring the fight than punches landed
Max, gets it.
How can you score the story of the fight. Watch it for what it is and score it
Vegas dictates who wins and who looses period $$$$$$ ....legit judges desicions haven't been around Boxing since the late 90's
James Fraser well said!!!
Epic is right. Amazing comeback by GGG. Loved the fight. Decision was Meh. I have no issue with it really but I had GGG winning.
A draw? Lol GGG won both fights. This one was a bit closer but he still won it. He won 4 of the last 5 rounds and won a number of the early ones behind his jab too.
No he lost 5 out of the first 6!
Ggg 1st round, rounds 7,8,9, 10,11,12 all ggg !!!
These guys keep why somebody won or somebody should've won. The reality is that none of that matters to judges who are already paid to help give the decision to a certain fighter.
Carmelo Anthony won
RiduFly 🤣🤣🏀⛹🏼♂️
GGG won the first fight and Canelo won the second. Both great fights
BOTH FIGHTS WHERE DRAWS NO KNOCKDOWN OR NOTHING THEY BOTH GAS TO EASY AND ARE TO CAREFULL , STILL BETTER THAN A DAMN HUGGING MATCH..
Agree
Agreed. It's a shame that the records won't show that GGG won the first fight though thanks to Adeleide 'sold my scorecard for a lambo' Byrd
@La víbora con Peluca lol Yu I see what u did there. Or am I giving you to much credit and your fat fingers couldn't hit that o?
@La víbora con Peluca go to bed. It's late
What are these two guys names? They are really good.
For unto us
A son is given
before the 2nd fight the way the 1st fight went and just knowing how good ggg is i really thought ggg would come out and get a pretty dominant win over canelo but man was i wrong canelo came out aggressive and with power great fight respect to both it was close but even though i thought ggg would win canelo 100% won the fight even though it was very close hopefully theres a third fight
Corruption envelops the entire US landscape. Goodbye Boxing.
RUclips takes away up votes or likes. Seems legit.
People been saying boxings dead for years...too much money for boxing to die...2 many inner city street kids who look for an alternative to gangs...
youtubers fighting each other are now selling more ppvs than pro boxers. I think many fans have discovered the con.
If record if continuous acknowledgement of pardon the interruption
First fight was GGG, no idea how canelo walked out of there with a draw. But there’s no way GGG won that 2nd fight, look at the damage done. Canelo landed the heavier head shots and body shots, and it showed on GGG by the end of the fight
Headbutts do damage like that that is why, Golovkin made Canelo look amateur and he hurt Canelo badly in the tenth.
Yeah , but during the broadcast max sounded like was being fed some Mexican meet.
Spell it right if your going to talk shit dumbass
He's just being realistic
max on the clenbuterol meat...the whole HBO was , now we have dazn
Max is right. You can't question cause he is an outstanding boxing analyst. SAS is just on basketball. Just shutup
Max is great but Stephen is right. Tell me one reason why scoring criteria should be changed based upon what the fighters are saying to each other pre fight? That's absolutely ridiculous. So every fighter that's ever predicted a knockout should've lost their fights even if they dominated every round? P.S. I also had it a draw or maybe 1 round to GGG. GGG CLEARLY won the 12th round so giving that to Canelo is a joke.
Ready?
The best thing that can happen to boxing is making k.o or t.k.o the only way to end a fight., No more stupid cards, no more "expert views", no more bullshit!
Such a shameful sport. The judges had their mines made up before a single punch was thrown.
KB sure
standard issue for vegas.
6 judges watching across the 2 fights. Only 1 judge out of 6 has given Golovkin a victory! II was much closer than I but for me Golovkin is 2-0 up against Canelo.
@@Bilky30 but for the record books golovkin lost
Bilky30: Its all about creating the next cash cow for the sport in Amercia. They had nothing to gained from tripleG winning the fight; giving canelo the victory only ensures a 3rd fight--- which they would probably end up giving to triple g to make it 1-1. Then we'd all get suckered into that ultimate 4th fight to break the tie....smh. If I were triple G I'd never fight him again--- this isn't a game men.
Because GGG claimed he was going to fight Mexican style and then he didn't, means he lost the fight? Canelo pushed the fight so he won? These are preposterous and ridiculous claims I keep hearing professionals like Max Kellerman make. What does it matter in the frame of scoring a fight what GGG said before the fight? That has no indication on the fight itself! Canelo was outboxed and Max Kellerman is too afraid to step on toes of the boxing fraternity to admit it. It was an awful decision, GGG now has been robbed twice, and people are acting like it's standard operating procedure. It's an embarrassment, and it hurts the sport.
mjk121882 lol u sound dumb as fuck
mjk i respect your honesty, most cant admit it.
ITS A JOKE YOUR RIGHT !!!
mjk121882 it sure as hell is.
Greg Gardner that’s what the truth sounds like dumbass.
was I the only one distracted by the music?
He call the light day
And the darkness night
27% connect percentage with a guy constantly coming forward at you and hitting your body...you don't go back at the body...majority of your punches are jabs and you took the most power punches...but GGG is the winner...How?!?
Why I hate listening to boxing breakdowns...people have no logic or no appreciation for the science/rules of engagement...Canelo was the better boxer in every way...the first fight he was making GGG miss and took him to deep water...he did the same this fight, but did a better job of not backing up and landing the more important punches....GGG had great moments 10-15 second spurts here or there that won him rounds that he didn't dominate...we saw Canelo stepping through punches and getting his end...
His connection percentage dropped from the first fight because he too was reaching and taking more risk. It was a good fight, but people ruin the effort by starting the bullshit theory...When Danny Garcia was getting his gift decision against Lamont Peterson no one was saying this same shit...because Lamont was disposable...
Finally someone with a functioning brain. How some value soft jabs over power shots is beyond me...
Golovkin doesn't do "soft jabs". Ask David Lemieux.
majority of those power punches come from first half for canelo giving him such a high number over gggs but ggg slowed the faster man down middle of the fight when he had him hurt on the ropes and through accumulation of power shots and increasing defense should have been given the second half not to mention popping canelo with that jab clearly troubling him constantly from beginning to end fight ggg
How did you feel about the first fight when triple g was the aggressor ?
Yall dont know squat damage dont mean nothing, triple g blocked all those punches with his face being battered and bloody was his gameplan he used his face to block the power punches thats a true art what a robbery
this is no debate. Carmelo clearly won this fight. Canelo Alvarez was clearly the aggressor being a smaller man. drove triple-g backwards and countered him all night long. only thing Triple G had going for him was pawing at him with the Jab. Canelo landed the more significant punches. and stood his ground against a so-called knockout artist. there's no debate he clearly won this fight. oh yeah I said that.
that's funny. seeing how I'm an amateur boxer.
Lols. Canelo fights Mayweather and one of the judges judge 114-114. GGG pushes the pace the 1st fight and gets a draw ;D.
Carmelo clearly took the first the second the third the fourth V VI and the seventh round. Triple G didn't start coming on to about end of the 7th. Carmelo took the 12-round easy. Max is dumb. even Abel Sanchez. admitted that Golovkin took the 12th off.
Tyron Kelly Why was his head constantly being snapped back then? Rewatch the fight with the volume turned off. Alot of people were being influenced by the commentating. Close fight but I saw Golovkin win this fight.
I didn’t know Carmelo boxed
Silver i love you so much sometimes I cry
You can’t beat Golden Boys Money Making Superstar still with a Country Behind him still in his Prime !!!
We all knew GGG had to knock Canelo out to Win which I thought he would do within 6 rds but he GGG was Robbed again. He is getting near the End at almost 37 yrs old.
@Don Jon agreed close fight no one can call this decision a robbery however ggg won the first fight easy
