Thank you for these useful tips! I've just started gardening on my balcony. I have a variety of herbs and lettuce. And in about 2 weeks I'll plant my tomatoes and pepper plants outside as well!
For the strawberries, how I got them to work in my apartment balcony, I utilize the top railing of the balcony. I went to the dollar store, got seven food safe soft plastic tumblers in nice print, the kind you'd use for a summer pool party slightly bigger than a regular drinking glass, put holes on the bottom for drainage and on the side to affix them to the railing using garden wire. Once put in place, I filled them with earth and added the strawberry plants. This way they arent on the floor shaded by bigger plants, the strawberry plants get full sun and no damage to the balcony. Pliers cut the wire and gets it off the railing. I also have two tumblers with one head of lettuce in each. Some fruits and vegetables dont have deep roots and really dont need a huge container to grow.
You are so very welcome !! I think you are doing very well with your BALCONY VEGETABLE GARDEN it seems you have a green thumb all your plants look healthy and beautiful keep enjoying your garden 🪴 🙏🙏✋✋
Thanks so much! You’re so right it isn’t easy keeping up with it but I have to say it’s so satisfying to eat something you’ve grown! Makes me feel so accomplished 😊
Oh my god! Ive seen your video before but just rewatching them and wow this is so awesome and inspiring. Its amazing how you get so much fruit in such small pots/space, thank you!
I’m so excited to start my own little patio garden. I’m moving in with a group of friends, and my love language is gesture - so excited to provide for those I love! Also- be proud of yourself girl, this looks beautiful.
Great video, you grow much on your balcony, I grow on mine as well, but its not as big :) I took sideshoots from my tomatoplants to continue the growingseason indoors during the winter. Doing so the family could continue harvest tomatoes to december, not as much as during the summer though, we also had to use extra light.
@@AllAboutAnika thanks for this! I decided to order some herb seeds (and a couple of green veg) and the starting materials that you recommended from wilko. Even if I screw up, or am quite late in the year, at least it’s practice for next year!
Hi, cool video! Does the large pots with tomato plants have drainage holes in them? I'm planing to start a balcony garden and my current worry is containing water without spilling or causing root rot!
I live in Lithuania and the wether is about the same I do want strawbery but i just cant grow them so i piked very similar berys the translation is the same but they are very easy to grow.
You can start strawberries inside and try to keep them in a warm/sunny location. And then maybe for like 1-2 months in the peak of summer you can put them on the balcony. I might try that next year!
Most balconies in the Uk are built to load to 50-100 pounds per square foot. I only have light things on my balcony. No furniture and my pots are plastic not terra cotta. Pity what’s happening in the USA.

This was great! I’m sad I missed the March window. I suppose I can wait until next year 😅
You can still grow this year but you might get a smaller yield
@@AllAboutAnika thanks for this! I decided to order some herb seeds (and a couple of green veg) and the starting materials that you recommended from wilko. Even if I screw up, or am quite late in the year, at least it’s practice for next year!
I’m sure you’ll definitely get the herbs. Good luck. Let me know how it goes! 😊
Hi. Your balcony garden is very beautiful and looking healthy. I'm looking at the pots they don't seem that big. What did you do to keep them healthy?
Thanks I use fertilizer:)
Love you video, very helpful information as I'm starting to grow my own fruit and vegetables in my small yard in Dublin.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your garden 🪴

I have linked all my planters in the description of the video :)
Sweet garden!🙂

Supper mam

Hi, cool video! Does the large pots with tomato plants have drainage holes in them? I'm planing to start a balcony garden and my current worry is containing water without spilling or causing root rot!
I made holes in the bottom in order to allow for water drainage
Love your garden. Maybe i can have one too
You can. Good luck starting a garden. I will upload a new video soon on how to start a balcony garden!
gentle hugs beautiful ❤
Thanks for watching
Thanks so much for the update of your balcony garden doing well new friend just subscribed please stay connected
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Doesn't water go through to the balcony below??? We put sheet vinyl on our balcony to avoid that happening, also everything has a saucer.
There is drainage below my balcony and drains to the side so no water goes to my downstairs neighbors
Can I ask where did you get your bigger pots from? The square and also the rectangular? Thank you. 😊
I bought all my pots from Wilko. I have a separate video on this :)
@@AllAboutAnika Our Wilko was out, but found what I was looking for in Range. Thank you. Happy gardening! 😁
What?? No dwarf lemon tree?? Oh no...given you ideas now!! LOL!!
HAHAHHA I do have a little lemon tree growing but it’s still a baby. Long way to go
Is the raspberry and blackberry plants from seed?
I bought them from a cutting. But strawberries are from seed.
ok thank you so much
You’re welcome

Just curious did you get horn worms with your tomato plant since ur growing on a balxony
No I haven’t experienced that. I’ve only
Had aphids
Hai ,I wish to visit ur home.iam from india.u can plant fenugreek seeds to harvest leaves as well as seeds from it .try
I have never used fenugreek seeds before, what do you use them from?
What soil do you use?
I have linked it in the description of the video :)
@@AllAboutAnika I have looked and don't see a mention of soil...
I use westlands multipurpose soil - amzn.to/3JSPcP6
Did you get any birds or bugs bothering your plants?
No birds. I got a few aphids but took care of that with a bug spray.
If that lemon tree started from a seed it will not bear fruit. All lemons that fruit are clones of an existing lemon tree that does give fruit.
Good to know
How often do you maintain your box
What do you mean?
Hi! are you going to do more garden videos ?
Yup I will be planting my new seeds at the end of February 😌
@@AllAboutAnika yay!!!
Which is your soil name??
I use westlands or miracle grow all propose compost
Cherry tomatoes
Great suggestion!
Do you know how much weight your balcony could carry? Here in the US balconies are collapsing and causing serious injuries even deaths.
Most balconies in the Uk are built to load to 50-100 pounds per square foot. I only have light things on my balcony. No furniture and my pots are plastic not terra cotta. Pity what’s happening in the USA.
FYI miracle grow is made my evil Monsanto sued for Round Up.
