    Tip - You probably don't have pollinators where you are! You can try attracting them OR pollinate them yourself! Hope that helps! Also Kang Kong is a good Vegetable, it's like spinach! :D

    The lettuce is bolting, it means its receiving too much sun and too hot. Lettuce like cool and partly shaded area. The mulberry is not suitable to grow in containers, mulberry will grow into a hugeee tree and its not a bush. The leaves on your eggplants indicating lack of nutrients. Cucumbers, Eggplants, tomatoes, capsicum, chillies are very heavy feeders so it needs to be fed every 2 weeks especially when it's planted so crowded and so close to eachother like that, they will fight for food. I feed my fruiting plants with fish emulsion, seaweed extract and concentrated chicken poop pellets.

      oh wow thank you for such an elaborate advise!!! i have since moved my mulberry out and started feeding my plants twice a week now! i wl be shopping for fish emulsion now then. i just uploaded a new garden update if you would like to check it out 🤗

      Great tips. I think you need more soil for tomatoes and mulberry. Too hot for lettuce. Try companion plants for tomatoes an cucumbers like basil to attract pollinators. Gardening is all an experiment and learning experience. It takes years but each year gets better. Keep trying. It looks beautiful and that in itself is something to be proud of

    Hi, fellow apartment balcony gardener in jakarta here
    You can try hydroponic gardening for your edible veggies like kangkung/pakcou/leek. It works wonderfully in my balcony, and its easier to maintain too. Soil gardening took waaay too long imo haha

    • @amaliaazzahraharto2787
      @amaliaazzahraharto2787 2 года назад

      Also, try planting flowers to call pollinators in!

    • @CharinsChang
      @CharinsChang  2 года назад

      Hi friend!! nice to know im not alone haha. i did try hydroponic system at first but i was not disciplined with the nutrient balancing and topping up the water🙈🙈🙈
      i really should plant pollinators tho, just bought the seeds but havent gotten round to sow them yet
      happy gardening!

  • @fil-norwegianlife1519
    @fil-norwegianlife1519 2 года назад

    You should also plant some flowers that will attract pollinators, bees etc to help your veggies

    • @marilynrafla6628
      @marilynrafla6628 2 года назад

      Its not leggy as in lacking sun, it was bolting meaning shifting to flower and seeds production thus the leaves turn bitter, this is often due to hot weather.

    Gardening is an ongoing learning experience - you never stop learning new things. Hope you keep it up as that looks lovely. Re the lettuce - its a cool season plant - that lettuce had bolted and would taste horrible. They don't like heat or too much sun. Have you got a less hot, much more shady spot for lettuce? And hand pollinating for the cucumber - same for zucchini and other members of the squash family, otherwise the fruit wither. If you can find the 'patio' size plants they are the best for small areas - like normal eggplants, broccoli can be huge plants. If you like green beans, dwarf beans are also great for small spaces as they take up next to no space and you can plant them really closely

    • @CharinsChang
      @CharinsChang  2 года назад

      o yes, sooo much to learn everyday. nature is just beautiful!!
      i might try to go it indoors next time. and i have yet to try growing any beans so that is definitely high on the to do list!!
      thanks for your helpful notes, really appreciate it🤗

    After gardening in my balcony for almost 17 years now, here is what I have learnt and I see your are making similar mistakes as I did.
    You have too many plants in those small planters, for example 1-2 eggplants in a container is more than enough. Same goes for most plants that are going to produce fruit. You should harvest cucumbers or any vegetables when they have reached a decent size, otherwise the plants start to think it's time to make seeds. It won't produce much more after that. Instead of trying to grow eggplants, try growing Green leafy vegetables, you would be able to harvest your daily supply from your pots. as you can see your kale is doing way better. You can keep harvesting the outer kale leaves, they will become stronger as they grow and can stand on their own. For plants with deeper roots you need at least 12 inches deep pot and lots of compost. I have tried cucumber, eggplant, cabbage, pumpkin, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, etc in pots, they didn't do well at all. However, the following plants gave me a decent harvest. Spinach, Malabar spinach, onion, garlic, chilli, tomato, kale, lettuce, basil, mustard, strawberry, nasturtiums, french beans, string beans, chard, blackberry. I am trying grapes, raspberry, black red and white currant now.

    I think the problem you are having is your flowers are not propergating properly because u live in a balcony. Try buying self propergating hybrid seeds next time. Or get flowering plants that attract bees. Good luck!

    Hi. Я думаю, что растениям не хватает нужного объема грунта, что бы развиваться правильно. Вы сажаете слишком много растений на один горшок. Для 1 растения помидора нужно от 5-8 литров. Для одного растения огурца нужно 10 литров. Так же это должны быть нужные сорта семян, именно для выращивания дома. Растению не хватает места что бы вырастить под землёй раскидистые корни, и получить достаточно питания.
    Нужен хороший грунт составленный из Биогумуса /Перлита/ Вермикулита / не кислого Торфа . Именно по этому растения могут отбрасывать цветения и не завязывать плоды овощей. Так же вносить ежемесячно подкорми и биологические удобрения. Используйте советы. Урожай будет огромным и вкусным. Удачи
