This arrangement is all Eli. Geoff and Layne have been taking turns for years, with Eli doing the occasional. They have added him into the rotation so we will see more from him.
He did an arrangement of Eleanor Rigby that is gorgeous. It was done shortly after their long time tenor left.

Congratulations ! You've been able to analyse, and even explain, the different elements which make this cover so unique. Most of us only knew we wanted to cry (and probably cried too) just listening to it. Now you can understand the need we have to hug Cesar tightly, because he's suffering so much, the poor little thing...

I was actually stunned by this performance. Every time I listen to this, I notice something else. And Cesar bookending it is perfection.

I absolutely loved this arrangement. Eli made such a heart string ripper (We're way past tugger on this one.). I cried for a week. Thanks for the reaction/analysis, I really enjoyed it!!!

That cover really got to me... and it also broke some reactors. So sad, so desperate... and so well done by VP. I really like your reactions on VP.🎉❤

The way they performed this changed the whole tone of the song. The original was kinda creepy

Yeah, the vibe I always get from the original was the guy getting increasingly angry instead of hurt as the song went on. Yeah, I know that hurt often generates anger, but I really prefer VoicePlay's spin on it.

Oh, cool! I'm so happy you did this one! You made my day! Thanks!
Question: Have you ever watched Elizabeth in The Charismatic Voice? She's awesome, lovely, smart, learned, and fun. Every time Geoff hits a low note, she gets the cutest giggle! But beyond that, she knows what she's talking about, and expresses it clearly and interestingly. So kinda a female version of you. She reacted to Voiceplay's Classical Chaos yesterday, and said a lot of the same things you did. She's a vocal coach. I think a collab between you two would be EPIC! Just a suggestion, I think you'd have fun. 💙

I never really liked this song. It always gave me stalker incel vibes, full of frustration and possibly anger. As a confirmed introvert, I really love this introspective questing feel to this one. Cesar’s voice, when it breaks on the word “cry” always gives me chills. It has become a favorite. Eli killed this arrangement and the guys took it and just soared.

I got the impression of a sweet guy who has just been rejected by a girl he was really in love with, but she abused him, calling him a creep and worthless as she left.
    He is devastated.

When Anthony started singing you reacted as I do. His voice really affects me. I guess their acting and emotion along with the singing is rather like opera. Not that I've ever seen an opera but I think there are parallels.

This piece is done by Eli and Layne. Geoff thought a mirror would go well so Cesar ran home and brought back his mirror. It is stunning. How many of us felt like that especially in school, trying to be like the other kids? It takes a while sometimes to find that you are special.

I think it was Geoff and Eli. If you look in the notes it says arrangement by Eli with some assistance by Casa Castellucci.

I am so enjoying your reviews! As someone who loves musical theater in all its forms (including opera, I am so thrilled to live in an age where I can go to a movie theater and watch a live Met performance), I understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea. And I can understand why some reactors find VoicePlay's exquisite theatricality not to their taste. What I have a bit more problem with is the reactor who complains about how they don't like how the individual members often get a chance to shine. When you have this group of great singers with fantastic technique and expressive voices, with the ability to project a very unique tone during their solo spot and yet 'disappear' into harmony, or rhythm/bass in the background when needed, who wouldn't want to utilize them to maximum effect?

I'm so glad you loved it! I think this may be my favorite reaction by you. "Tender" is a great word. It's emotionally draining (hence my suggestion that you bring tissues) and completely relatable, we've all felt this way at some point in our lives. Cesar with tears in his eyes at the end, gets me every time!
And Anthony is amazing, a real gem! I guess that's why his name is pronounced "Gar-Jewel-lah." And he's done a full treasure chest of songs and shorts with Voiceplay! EVERY one of them amazing! 💙
