Majora's Mask was an amazing experience that continues to inspires us as artists. This project is a tribute the game we all love. The film is nearly complete and we are excited to share it very soon. short films usually never go longer than 30 minutes. after that, it just drags on and defeats the purpose of being called a "short film"
happens at the 5min mark for many (i also noticed some obvious long credit sequences with some) but better to be short and strong but long and draggy!

But the work you have here is one hundred percent amazing. Start uploading all your work somewhere private, so that if you do get struck by copyright, you can leak it out to the internet for all of it to survive. Video, character models, everything.

I usually find that most fan works that take creative liberties with character designs do so in ways that are unwarranted or unnecessary (especially western interpretations of Japanese properties). But I think this is one of the very few that takes liberties only where they are necessary and does so in a way that still remains true to the original designs in the ways that really matter. For instance...
The Happy Mask Salesman's eyes. In the games, they're practically sealed shut, save for a few instances where they snap wide open. His facial features are drawn in a way that uses symbols or tropes that indicate specific feelings, but they don't bother to interpolate between these expressions in any way. This is okay for a game, where the NPC's expressions aren't all that important from a functional standpoint. But for an animated movie, the ability to create nuanced expressions is EXTREMELY important. This extrapolation of his design keeps to the general feeling of the original design, and even suggests that he's capable of making faces that would be equivalent to the original game models, but in a way that allows for a wider range of expressions, while also making him look more relatable.
I think this piece is much more well executed than that fan-made fake Majora's Mask HD trailer from back in the day, and I sincerely hope they're able to complete the short film without problems from Nintendo.

I hope it don't. They did that to The Hero of Time a few years ago, and that was only AFTER it was finished. But at the same time, at least they were ok with it being shown for about a week or so.

+Smeagol Sandwich yes. This project is classified as fan project, so they probably didn't talk with Nintendo about it. So Nintendo might understandably not be happy about it.
Uzukage89 they did the opposite and added the fan film to their favorites.

Just for general information: Nintendo will only take this downs if it makes a profit from fan revenues. It will also be taken down if it uses official music taken directly from the game's soundtrack, and not their own renditions.
I would go fund this! this looks AMAZING! GOD I COULD DIE HAPPY IF THIS MOVIE CAME OUT. Honestly though, they would have to do ocarina of time movie first, since Majora's Mask is a direct sequel.

The Skull Kid better not randomly find that mask laying on the floor though, one of the biggest mistakes I see in EVERY fan made Majora's Mask project is that the Happy mask Salesman is 100% oblivious to the Mask being stolen.

This is one of the few times where I really feel like a fan creation looks really coherent in terms of animation and art, I love it! you can really see the huge amount of effort that went in to what little we've seen, It captures the feeling of the game beautifully
