I was so impressed at 22:28. Yes, this is not an episode of Doctor Who, that's why we don't get an intro. This was the show taking the unreliable narrator concept to the absolute extreme - we just watched someone tell a story that has the Doctor IN it, but it's not a Doctor Who story, He explains that the signal is the important thing, and that the story was deliberately desgined to make you watch - none of it has to be 'real'. Personally, it's one of my absolute favourite episodes. I love unreliable narrator stories ("Last Christmas" was another favourite) and there are so many amazing touches. You mentioned the fact that we keep watching through the eyes of the characters and breaking the fourth wall. You mentioned that the character of the Doctor in this story is like someone else writing it. It's a reasonable, average Doctor Who story - with higher level storytelling and concept. Reaction channels never 'get' this episode, and it tends to get really badly trashed by most of them. Thank you for getting it.

    - What episode is this? :)
    We all had this question.
I’ll immediately remove from the story those people who didn’t like the episode, everything is clear here, I’ll tell you about a different audience.
    Their opinion:
    - God, what an unusual, creative and brave episode! This is so bad that it's even good! (Hysterical laughter) Respect to the author for trying to introduce something radically different, the plot let us down, but the idea and style are interesting.
    - Do you like this stupid episode? So you'll give it the highest rating?
    - No, we will give the worst rating, 4, no 3!
    - Wait, but you liked him, why do you give such a low score?
    - So that no one accidentally watches it! :D (Hysterical laughter), in the video itself it says at the beginning "Don't watch this video!", this will be the episode with the lowest rating, haha! There are simply people who watch an episode based on ratings and perhaps they have never watched a single episode of Doctor Who, I wouldn’t want a new viewer to come across this episode and they accidentally start their acquaintance with Doctor Who from this episode, it’s better for anyone to watch different episode than this one, haha! I loved this episode but it gets the lowest possible score from me hahahaha! This is the case when you don’t feel sorry and give a low score with a smile! It will be the lowest rated and we don’t mind, we don’t feel sorry at all)))
    - Strange logic...
    - There were bad episodes, yes. But the worst one makes us smile, this usually doesn’t happen, but here it’s somehow calm in the soul, the worst one with a twist hahaha :D
    _
We love this episode for two other reasons.
    1) The doctor lost.
The first episode, where the Doctor loses - It was exciting and interesting, yes, he changed the route of the ship, but he could not defeat the villains themselves, he had to escape from the ship.
    2) Meme.
There is a meme with Capaldi, in the picture Capaldi is looking at the camera with tousled hair and wide-eyed, his quote is subtitled - Dust was following us! - And the meme title at the top: When you're an experienced paranoid :D
    _
Note: This episode has one more feature, I described above that there are people who liked the episode for its absurdity, what else is it so attractive? Because it's an absurdly bad episode that makes it fun to watch the reactions to. Imagine, people are waiting for the reactor to get to this episode, just to laugh at how he will watch and react to this funny nonsense and also utter the phrase “What I just watched, this is definitely Doctor Who?!”, "What episode is this?!", people like it, laugh and get carried away , such a pleasure of mocking such a bad episode when someone else is already starting to watch it :D
    DON'T WATCH THIS VIDEO! (Song: Nanana-nananana-nanana-na-na) :D
PS: For me this episode is bad, but I like it, it makes me smile. It rarely happens in life that we like an episode because it is bad.
    - How do you like this episode?
    - He's terrible! :D
    - Then why are you smiling?
    - Because I like him :D
    - Since you smile, it means he’s not so bad, you think he’s good.
    - No! :D
    - You just said that you like it.
    - Yes, I like it :D
    - So it's a good episode for you.
    - No! :D
    - Then I don’t understand why you smile when this is a very bad episode?!
    - It's hard to explain :D
    - Stop making stupid hysterical laughter!
    - (I continue to laugh hysterically).
    - Okay, then I’ll find out why it’s bad, I’ll go watch it and find the reason why this episode is bad, maybe they’re showing something nasty, or maybe there’s a hole in the plot.
    - Good luck!... Good luck trying to somehow find the right words to try to explain what you watched :D

Personally, I don't accept the 'so bad it's good' idea, but i do agree that one of the best things about this story is that the Doctor loses - he admits defeat, gets in the box, and just gets out of there - and that's such a rare value in a story where just a few seasons before he was being literally described in the story as a god.
But I think it's a fantastic episode. Beautifully made. Inventive. Perfectly paced. The right balance of humour and horror. It's a good episode.
It's not a good story that fails in the delivery (like "Fear Her") or a well-delivered story with a flawed premise (like "Kill the Moon") - it's a well-made episode that technically succeeds while doing something new and inventive.
It gets bad ratings (on things like IMDB, etc.) because people generally fail to get the point of the story. They think it's a story about eye-gunk monsters.

@@ДаняШиряев-п6е for me, it's a 9 out of 10 story. I love unreliable narrator stories. I love found footage stories. I love twist endings. I love episodes where the Doctor doesn't win (so, for example, while I know the first half of this season's Zygon story is considered a bit of a weak point, I love the fact that it leaves off with the Doctor absolutely falling apart on every front) and I love episodes that break the mould.
So the Classic episode "Earthshock" was one of my favourite Doctor Who stories of all time, for example (I won't give any spoilers) - because it ticked so many of the boxes.

      @@MichaelJohnson-kq7qg You didn't understand me :D
I heard your opinion, I just voiced mine, that even if for me this episode was 9 out of 10, I would still give it a 3, and maybe I’ll give it an even lower rating if it suddenly starts gaining ratings. :)
The episode will still find its fans. :)
My logic is this - an entertaining episode, but it’s better for it to be invisible and let it be at the very bottom of the ratings, and I say this with love. This is the paradox when a person who liked it deliberately gives a low rating.

This episode re-united League of Gentlemen writers/cast members Mark Gatiss who wrote it and Reece Shearsmith, who plays Rasmussen. LOG was originally a radio comedy later adapted for television. It was set in the fictional small town of Royston Vasey and the cast play multiple characters in a dark, often surreal sitcom which some may consider to be 'bad taste' these days. Gatiss is a big Dr Who fan himself, having written The Idiots Lantern episode & later playing Lazarus. I always thought the sets in this looked familiar, possible re-dress of the underwater base in Before the Flood.

    IMPORTANT!
I said that I would speak in advance three times, according to the reached episode of Patreon, the second time was about the finale of season 8, here it is finally the third and last time when I am ahead of time.
You've finally reached the Christmas edition.
Now you have a choice, an important choice! Continue watching... or take a short break for a week? And react and rewatch the episode “Silence in the Library” with David Tennant and River Song, and only then continue to watch the current show.
Half the reactors did this. You can delight viewers with a new reaction to an old episode.
You might be wondering, what's the point of reacting to an episode you've already seen? Who will be interested in watching this?
Believe me, viewers often watched both versions, the reaction before and after, it’s very exciting, especially to hear your comment with a new look after the end of her story and perhaps this time you will be visited by new emotions.
I remember when you watched it for the first time and she died, you said how will you see her if she dies now? You then did not understand anything about how its line works, but then you realized that they do not move linearly in time and it took you a long time to get used to understanding this, but now you understand everything and this work can now be seen from a new interesting angle and view.
It's like a book, the first time you read the work for the first time, but the second time, when you are older and already aware of the history, you re-read it and notice something that you had not noticed before and this work now looks from a new angle.
Now you will have the focus not on the Doctor, but on River Song, and secondly, you will be able to evaluate her acting, did she cope well or poorly with her role? Did she play it right for future episodes without knowing what her character was like? Did she cope with her task? All her words and emotions will not be secret and mysterious to you, but will evoke nostalgia for everything she went through.
Watching her talk to the Doctor, whom she knows very well, just as well as we do, which gives us the feeling that we are right now where the river song is and we are looking through her eyes at the Doctor, who still does not understand or know anything.
I don't think any series had the potential or reason to ever respond to an episode again, but this is an interesting concept that, due to its unusual origins of non-linearity, allows for it and makes sense. At first we looked from left to right, but now we can look at the plot with eyes from right to left.
    Nicole, think about it. :)
Yes, this pause may seem tedious, but why should it be tedious? The episode is good, an interesting concept and there is a meaning and a reason for this, especially since this is the final episode of the story, in addition, Doctor Who has proven more than once that you want to watch it again and again... so there’s rather another question here: won’t you regret it later? haven't done this before? Without keeping as a souvenir your two reactions “BEFORE” and “AFTER”? The first time you did the “Silence in the Library” reaction, you were perplexed by the death of River Song, let’s see what emotions wash over you now.
I just warned you in a timely manner that some reactors do this with regards to this particular episode.
    The choice is yours.

There may be no legal obligation for the BBC to show an opening sequence (provided they mark when the program started).
I know that Sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf started 2 episodes with just the series logo & did the credit text under the scene, in order to give that time to script.

This episode feels like an unfinished episode (no intro, no solution, no ending). I know they wanted it to feel unresolved in the end but it was entirely unsatisfying. The ending is so abrupt because they ended up being trapped in the "found footage" structure. Could have put a bow on it with just a single line of dialogue from Clara or the Doctor after they escape in the TARDIS, but they couldn't do that because of this story telling method. Plus, not a fan of the "eye dust" creatures.
