      its crochet rib stitch fab for hat s or cuffs, ribs etc gives a nice stretch without it being wide. great for scarves too.

    I just did 3 of your hats. So easy to follow tutorial. I just did 2 hats for a lady and she wanted them in Aldi's store sign colors. Sweet story to share with you and crochet lovers. She met the lady at Aldi's and they soon became friends. She gave her this hat for Christmas so when they meet up every week at Aldi's they have matching hats.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel

      They are so warm too, your granddaughters will love them, if you want a hat do the stitches into a magic circle instead of a band, then tighten it and add a pom pom.

    I have just finished a scarf to add to the hat I made last night from this pattern. Thank you for sharing this wonderful pattern. I used varigated yarn, in sunset colours. Perfect for my red headed daughter next Winter. I am in Australia, Queensland, and it is Summer here now. I am crocheting in my cool airconned room. Starting another of your patterns soon!

    So glad I found this pattern (and your YT channel...BTW...had to subscribe 🤗). I crochet for charity and finding quick beanie projects is the best way to help fill up a box of goodies (scarfs, cowls, hats, mittens)...this is the first one that is universal in size ...and I'm loving that 🥰. Thanks for the share, and I'll be making loads of these.

    Very easy to follow, but definitely not quick. I'm using 4 ply yarn so it's heavier. I also single crocheted the elastic (bobble) in at the beginning. Thank you for all the amazing videos.

    since i wasn't going to the store to buy hair ties, i decided to use the brute force approach. i chained 40 and put 40 single crochets in the chain. after 5 or 6 rows it was obvious i had a tree skirt for a VERY small christmas tree I did it like a foundation chain instead of crocheting around the chain like you would in the spaces of a granny square. i cannot find my measuring tape at the moment, but the hole in the middle has to be at least 4 or 5 inches across.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад

      Richard remember the increase for the 2nd row 2 into every stitch. it might look ruffled but it will flatten.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад

      do your chain maybe 30 then join into a circle remember the 2row is ALL INCREASES 2 into every stitch then start the pattern.

    • @richardbenjamin8535
      @richardbenjamin8535 3 года назад +1

      @@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel i did both of the things you suggested, i just made a hole big enough to put the head of a small child through instead of just a pony tail. i think i could actually put the tail of a small pony through it I started another one with a chain of 20 and was able to put 30 single crochets into that. now all i need is a volunteer to try it on.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад

      its defiantly the amount of chains you are making. put it on your head and look in a mirror, Richard I think the 20 was a good idea to try that should solve the problem.

      I don’t know what I did but mine is just too big. Maybe the yarn. I don’t know. I used an 8 hook because I looked up what a UK 5 for US and that’s what it read to use, so maybe that was wrong information. I’m going to try 30 on the ponytail instead of 40.

      this is a very stretchy pattern I think 50 will be way too wide you start with 35 or 40 then double up on the 2nd row. so 40 becomes 80 and with mine it fit up to extra large head.
