- The second-generation Mercedes‑AMG GT Coupé is the new top model offered by Mercedes‑AMG. It combines highly dynamic driving characteristics with increased suitability for everyday use. High-tech components such as the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active roll stabilisation, rear-axle steering as standard and active aerodynamics sharpen the driving profile. The sporty coupé also brings its power to the road with the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive for the first time. In combination with the AMG 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine, it results in a driving experience at the highest level. The exclusive AMG sports car architecture with the elaborate composite aluminium body structure enables its configuration as a 2+2‑seater.

It looks like AMG draws a lot of inspiration from Porsche. The roof and rear (and their transition) look a lot like a 911.

@@G6304 I agree that it looks great. The only problem I have with it is that this new model is way heavier than the previous one (350 kg more, 2 tons total) and just too heavy to be a sports car. The old one wasn't just a GT car but also a 911 competitor on the race track. So sadly, AMG has left the track. 😢

The sportier variations that will come out will probably be 300-400 lbs lighter. This car will be a sub 3.0 second car. But for the base, practical version… it makes sense to have this weight

Old one looks better and more expensive than this. Interior dashboard is so unique and special and beautiful, this one looks just like S class, SL class, C class … with a screen , nothing is special like old one .

I really wasn’t a fan of them leaving the old platform (sitting on the rear axle format) I mean it was the prior model & the Ferrari Superfast as the only dinosaurs left but it’s all better with the four-matic, practicality and it now looks like it didn’t skip leg day ..as the back now looks as muscular as the front!!💯

LOVE The Tech..... But prefer the more unique design of the first gen. This gen has far too many F Type/911 design cues and seems to strive more for a visual balance, which really creates an unfortunate blend with other past and current models
but the first gen had too long bonnet ahaha i prefer this design..especially if they release the GT R version

On paper, this sounds like it could be a perfect GT car. This is going to be a controversial statement, but bear with me. I think the Audi TT series held the spot as one of the best grand tourers available for a long time. GT cars originated in the European Grand Tour, which was a sort of coming-of-age tradition among the wealthy. Young adults would spend up to two years traveling. When cars showed up, the rich wanted cars that were suited for rich young people to travel on their own. They wanted a combination high performance, luxury, and, most importantly, enough storage to haul enough crap to last them a year or more on the road (GT cars are front-engine because that gives the most trunk space). Most GTs, like certain Aston Martins and Porsches, have shied away from the long-distance travel, giving up trunk space for other features (a lot of people get confused on this point and don't really understand that GTs don't necessarily have to be the fastest to be good, but they DO have to be fast, luxurious, and practical). Very few cars, like the Audi TT series didn't do this, and instead opted for more cargo room, making it a great example of a GT car. I'm super happy to see that Mercedes really embraced its grand tourer history and give us a proper GT car that actually balances all three important aspects.

Apparently you can set the awd mode to only send power to the rear.
@@magistrate7009That's not the point. The point is maximum performance. You can put it into RWD but you still have to deal with the extra weight of the AWD system. There is a big reason why two of the fastest cars around the nurburgring (GT black series and Porsche gt2rs) are RWD.

It looks like a typical Infinity sports modeled vehicle now. Nothing captivating about it aesthetically. 🤷🏾♂️. The older AMG GT models (C, S, R, Pro Black series etc) can’t be imitated. This particular car IMO may be special on the inside but not on the outside.

Looks great, but offers less than it's competitors, because it won't be offered as a cabriolet. Imagine how sporty , slick and stunning this car would look as a convertible, with it's top down!!! As a convertible, I believe this car would be equal in beauty to the over 100K more expensive Aston Martin DB12 cabriolet. What a shame. As a straight-up sports car, coupe, personally, I prefer the sleeker, lighter, Porsche 911 over this car. But as a convertible, this car would rise to the top. As it stands, I would go with the SL63 over both this car and the 911 convertible. Hey....I live in sunny California. What can I say.
I wonder if driving through the canyon ina normal car is fun I think it would just make me sad though
