I've sunk about 80 hours into Wayfinder and i love it so far. It is certainly a great foundation, albeit the Early Access label is very much earned here.
As a fan of both, Warframe and LoR and as a massive lore nerd, I am excited for the possible crossover episodes of Necrit into the Origin System. XD Wayfinder also seems quite fun from what I experienced so far but still needs a lot of polishing.
One thing about unlocking characters. If it is anything like warframe, you can acquire any warframe F2P but it’s going to be a freaking grind. There are about 70 warframes (including prime variants) which you can get free to play. Be it doing missions, quests,some for research in dojos, and for prime variants, opening those damn relics.
@@MattHatter360 It depends on the Warframe, obviously. It took me like 18h of running spy missions to get Ivara (I got pretty unlucky), whereas it took me like 2 or 3h of opening relics to get Prime Ivara. The only problem with Prime variants is getting the relics themselves, and, obviously, them getting Vaulted.
I unlocked all of the wayfinders in a week. I'm guessing a few weeks for people who play infrequently. It is a grind, but it's not that bad. You can grind some of the components while leveling second/third wayfinders or weapon parts. Easy double dip.
Server issues is a good indicator that they will get more for what they expected, which again is good because it translates for them to a more profiteable pool of players in overall, even if 1% buys something, its still profit.
Devs have given you the power to make sure this doesn't become that type of game, but I guess you would rather throw shade online about the game than give constructive feedback to the devs. Sadge

Wayfinder being instanced based is what's catching me. I think Openworld can be limiting to your effects to the game. Instanced based, you kill something, it stays dead. Open world, you kill it. . .. it will respawn eventually. Instanced based the world can change for you the more you progress, Open world, the only way to do this is splicing. Idk, Instanced based has always been my preference for games. Especially games that utizlie their instances to the best of their abilities. Guild wars 1 (Not 2) for example though they don't do it too often replace mobs when you do certain things. Maybe if like map changes based on your story progression? idk, that's my thoughts
The dungeon system and gems remind me of Path of Exile's map system. Necrit, if you'd be open to it, please give that game a chance. It's wonderfully deep.

steam tags aren't decided by devs they are decided by the players, that's why the Vergil DLC for DMC5 has the dating sim and female protagonist tags among other things.
Arent steam tags put in by players? I am pretty sure I can go tag any game I want as an MMO and if many others do the same we can get a single player game to be labeled as an MMO xD
the game seems built from the ground up to be similar to warframe. which is actually quite good i think. esp if they bring over their monetization which is probably the absolute best in the indutry from a consumer perspective. ( yeah you can buy it, nut it's also the same currency you do all trading in, so you sell off your extra stuff and buy new warframes and mods and stuff it really feels quite different than buying wow gold) but it's very similar already, and i think that will be a win for them.
they really need to make good boss fights one does not enjoy beating minions, but rather complex bosses that present good challengues from the video, it seems they need to work in the timing of the attacks and since it can be played melee or fps, they should chance the pattern of the bosses ai bassed on the comp of the players (since its supposed to be a team game)
I mean you can make a game designed around the minions alone. You just need to have good designed minions that are a threat for their kit rather than just "they do a lot of damage".
As a person who played since launch i want to say that these things: 1) Current aoe indication does not work properly. Hurtboxes dont match up with indicators in a lot of places and sometimes even liner for seconds after bot animation and indicator are gone. 2) Among the non tutoreal bosses only 2 have busy enough patterns to be consistently interesting to fight(argent hand and commander creed) rest of the bosses and especialy final bosses of zones(the first and legion) have terrible pacing where 2 out of 3 players have nothing to worry about other than doing damage, and current wayfinder design and phylosophy dont mesh well with burst rotations, as most burst builds anre not fun to setup or execute as it take to just press 3 buttons. In general currently most bosses are designed such that they are not touchable most of the time, except dedicated vulnerability phase. This leads into burst meta where dealing consistent damage is pointless as you wont be dealing any damage when boss doesnt want you to. Even when boss doesnt have invulnerability most of them are simply not agressive enough to be entrataining while dpsing as there is no pressure to keep dpsing while avoiding death.
I'm very excited to get into this game, and I enjoyed the little bit of the beta I played, but all of the post EA launch videos I've seen have convinced me that waiting for 1.0 is the right call. It's all very promising though, and the devs do seem very active.
Design and world looks amazing. The devs have a lot of things to offer in this game for early access. it looks like they are all really passionate about the genre. Service games like these die out really quick with lack of content but looking at the road map it really does seem promising. hope this blows up
If Necrit needs to play warframe to talk about it then, I don't think it'll happen soon. You know the game starts at character customization and all that, gonna take him a pretty good while to unlock the lore

I played the BELOVED first 5 days of launch and if they have not changed anything playing with someone is a handicap. Loot doesn't multiple but all the hps of the hole dungeon do. Let's hope they change that IF they haven't already but the progression was very boring for me, I loved their ruined king and of course as a beta warframe player I bought the most expensive pack
I tried this game a few days after the release, played it for 2 hours, and refunded it. It was clunky, laggy, the queues were long, and people often rushed through the dungeons, completing objectives before I unlocked them, which forced me to run the dungeon a second time. And I dunno who came up with the idea that switching to a different character on the character selection should put you back in the queue.
The only thing I really didn't like about Wayfinder was the narative direction. It was very redundant early on so much so I was spamming to get on with the game. Other than that, the general story and gameplay felt decently good. Art direction was great IMO.
Remember that: This game caters to the same type of playerbase that likes League of Legends styled graphics and gameplay, which is why they want to present it here regardless of potential negative critique during a sponsorship. They want Riot community eyes on the game. That's what I think.
I played the Alpha of this and then the beta, but I'm not paying for it. IMO - They made a huge mistake making early access 6 MONTHS yikes. That just killed my hype for this game and I'll just pick it up if I remember it's existence.
Wayfinder has a good blueprint if they follow DE in their steps. You can say a lot about warframe but it is anshining beacon of free games, by being entirely possible to play it without ever spending money and with a bunch of systems and mission types to enjoy People complain a lot because the game is massive at this point and its dauting. But at least you have a lot to do
the whole burning tides story told through animation would be better than arcane imo. if they take the crestive liberties they did with arcane they can probably make any story good
If the game does good and you have the 150€ bundle you can sell it for 1k that's what I did with warframe... but legit I played the first 5 days of launch and would recommend to wait for the f2p it's not worth it right now yet the lvling is so slow and they keep nerfing it
I love Necrit's videos. It's cool to see this video from him. I have played 100+ of this and it does have a lot of potential. I will say it's not free to play as of this moment but it will be once it has left early access. It's not terribly priced and they finally got the server issues fixed, which was most of the bad reviews on steam (which is sad). They have their "seasons" planned out, including a new wayfinder/equipment and a new battle tower every 3 months. If people want to wait until they get out of early access and it's free, they only miss out on limited-time cosmetics. It's not a perfect game, still a work in process. It just has a lot of potential and the game is fun enough I don't mind sticking around to hopefully watch it grow. I know that's not for everybody.

If they go the way warframe is walking for 10 years, they would be successful. Games is these genre has a dire problem and that is with every new patch and content, old ones become useless and it's not efficient for the game. I hope they find a way to avoid that

I put in 50+ hours in mid August to the beginning of September. Wayfinder has a lot of potential but for now I’ll wait for more updates
50+ hours is a good sign, these days people PAY for games and play 10 hours max ( even though there's much more content ) i talk from experience

Prime Warframes are easy to get. If you are 4 people it takes 4 days at most. (1 day farming and components + 3 days crafting time)

Though I am interested playing dmc5 made me want games to have more skill expression not how much you grind
i recomend monster hunter or games from "from softwere" to you especialy monster hunter rise as my favorite chalege giving games
don't play mmo if you hate the grind aspect. stick with single player game.

So they took warframe took all the good stuff from it and added fantasy element to that and this game was born

Wayfinder is a sad cash grab
If they go the way warframe is walking for 10 years, they would be successful.
Games is these genre has a dire problem and that is with every new patch and content, old ones become useless and it's not efficient for the game. I hope they find a way to avoid that
