Thanks for designing and fabricating these door reinforcement parts. They are well designed, and with your instructions, easy to install. Keep up the good work.

This was the perfect fix for my door. It worked so well that it takes minimal effort to open the door. I highly recommend this part for the fix. I basically followed this video step by step and works perfectly. Thank you for posting this.

Took longer to first find my rivet gun, try and fix it, then go to the hardware store and buy a new one than it took to install handle reinforcement plate. Excellent product, feels super solid now. Thanks 😊

I have a '95 F150 I purchased in '96. The original handle broke, replaced it and broke the replacement (who knew I was so strong?). My son purchased chrome handles from a junkyard and installed them. Yeah, not crazy about the chrome but if it works .... a couple weeks later I tried to open the door and the metal finally gave way (who knew?). Opening the door from the outside was no problem so we thought the cable was ok - just greased it. Then the window motor stopped working. Yeah, not a pretty sights seeing grandma crawl across the seat to get out ....
I started my research and found your product and ordered it - Called the boy child and asked if he would drill some holes in my truck door. His suspicions arose until I showed him what I wanted (he now thinks I'm pretty smart -- even if I am his mom). He installed it and it has worked like a charm these last few months! Yes, yesterday, we fixed the window motor and replaced the door panel! Whoohoo - no more driving a post apocalyptic truck!
Thanks for a great, easy to install product with a clear video - it took him longer to get his tools out and ready to go than to install this plate. Great product - and yes, I am telling others about it!

Hey just wanted to say thanks
I found and watched your video, after I noticed my door frame by the handle was broken.
After I order the part off the website it got here very quickly and it was also very easy to install myself. Thanks again for making my 97F350 door functional.

Came across this video by accident. Glad I did, I’m having this issue with my F250. I was just going to replace the door or weld the handle on. This will save me some time and money

Looks to be a quality fix, and definitely cheaper than an entire door placement

Picked up a project truck and the previous owner had ripped the lever right off the door and I used this plate to fix it, it works great.

Wow, glad to know this now. I patched my '95 F350 years ago and it's time again. This should be the last fix. Thanks again

Nice video, there are others who use a plate too. I think that plate is absolute overkill. We are talking about a bolt feeding through a hole in steel which has weakened a bit. No need for a spring nut. Just use a bolt, a nut, large washer and some lock-tight. With the window rolled up you can use a wrench on the inside to get it tight. Done.

Fender washers on the back side work well with 1/4-20 nut and bolt.

I replaced both r/l only to find out the wires where broken 😡 dumb move on my part I should first checked for power ! Ford is horrible for not giving enough wire to do repair and because the rear doors on a crew don’t get opened a lot the wires crack and fray and break off so check that first before you drill out the rivets and then using bolts !

Take it to the next level and make the plate so it would install from the backside of the door panel with a tapped hole or "weld nut" for the handle bolt. What you get it the added strength of both metal surfaces and you can eliminate the "speed clip" for the bolt and don;t have to worry about the pop rivets failing. Give it a try, my F-250 door opens like new.

And it looks like there's room to get some back up washers for the rivets.

I'd put the plate under the door under the door skin and use a nutsert. That way you are using the skin for strength and not depending on the pop rivets to to supply most of the strength.
I'm a trash truck mechanic and I'm always having to think about making it better than the manufacturer did because they almost always do it on the cheap. Price point is very important to sales, and the more the sales department controls the production department the crappier they get made.
An example would be GMs ignition switch.

Could also use some adhesive between the plate and the door. The rivets will hold it in place while the adhesive sets up. Ain’t going nowhere after that.

I did this, lubed linkage, replaced door pins and bushings. Still breaking handles lol. Lasted a little while longer. Maybe striker wasn’t adjusted properly.
